I have recently relocated my business to another province and now need to officially move the business to the new province. I am wondering how to do this. Am I required to file in both provinces or only the new one. Do I also need to get new tax numbers for myself and the business or are the old ones still fine?
Finally, does my work permit automatically change over when we move the business or do I have to then go to the labour board and change it? Do I go to the original labour office or the one in the new province?
Thanks in advance for you help.

I just did this going ot Malaysia. They transfered the old entry stamp to the new passport and then I exited using the new passport. Very simple. It was done in the office not the check point counter so give yourself a few extra minutes in case you have to wait in line to have this done.
Not sure what they do about arriving back in the country as I went to get a whole new Non-Imm visa.
-
Depends. If your visa is a multple entry than you can just leave, as long as you return before the date the visa finishes (not the stamp but the date on the actual visa). If it is a year extension than you must get a re-entry permit before leaving.

Recently went to the Los Angeles consulate and was informed that all Thai embassies have been instructed to stop issuing multi entry non imm B visas. They are to issue single entry and let immigrations in Bangkok issue permit to reenter.
Actually this is not 100% true. If you hold a WP then you will get a multi entry Non-B. If you do not hold a WP then you will only get the single entry.
-
Without a work permit you will only be able to get a 90 day Non-B Visa. You will need this visa to get a work permit. Once you have the WP you can go and get a 1 year multiple entry or an extension based on employment.
-
If you have a work permit than you will get a one-year multiple entry visa. With just the business documents and letter they will give you 90 days. You need to have the WP to get the one year. Otherwise you will have to go to a country outside of SEA.

I am assuming that most of you men have dated a farang lady at some point in your life. Did any of these ladies ask you for money at any point? Especially right at the start of the relationship?

Best thing is to get a tourist visa in the UK. This is good for 60 days + a 30 day extension. These are free at the moment.
Or, if you can, get yourself a multiple entry tourist visa again in the UK.

Insomnia is linked to depression. As for the other symptoms, it could be a number of things. But heart palpitations, diziness and numbess could be anemia. Best thing is for her to get a complete blood count test.

I just sent an online enquiry for travel next month. Will post back how it goes.

I agree with Wolf. Actually I had a friend who lost her passport and got a new one in BKK. She had to pay the overstay when she did a border run.
Everything is on their computer.....Go to the airport early with the cash ready (500 per day with maximum of 20,000) and pay there.
You should be aware that with an overstay of that long you may have trouble coming back to Thailand if you are not gone for a substantial amount of time first.
Good luck!

The best thing to do is to get a 60 tourist visa at the Thai Embassy in your country before you leave. With this you should not have a problem getting on any flight....Tourist visa's are free at the moment.

I avoid flying with them. Had a horrible experience years ago and vowed never to fly with them again. Very rude and unhelpful!

Being from Sri Lanka then he does need a tourist visa, as you know. I think the letter from Employer is to state that he does have a job to come back to and is financially able to pay for a trip to Thailand. They will probably also want to see some sort of financials (bank statement or credit card) to show substantial funds to travel to Thailand.
All of this is just to be sure that he will in fact go back to Sri Lanka and not stay in Thailand. I suggest that you call or go to the Embassy and ask them exactky what is required of your friend to get a tourist visa.

You can get the extension as long as you don't leave it too long. If you go tomorrow you should be fine. You will of course have to pay the 500 over stay and the 1,900 extension fee.
-
Not sure what your finances are like. But if you have the money another option is to get a cheap return flight to a nearby country. You can fly in and out on the same day. This will give you another 30 days. You will still have to pay the overstay for the days you have currently over stayed. But in the end it may cost less than the 6,500 you will be charged at the airport the day you leave.
-
As far as I know with an overstay of that length you must be out of the country for 6 months minimum before you can re-enter. But the rules constantly change, and it also depends on each individual immigration office and officer....Yes still 500 per day with a max of 20,000.
-
To get an additional visa on arrival you must leave the country and arrive again. The first one will end the date you leave, the next will start the date you re-enter.
Best thing to do is to get a tourist visa before you come, this will give you 60 days, and I think 30 for your wife. Yes they are free until March 2011.

Actually, I am the opposite. I will never use Banana as I find them extremely rude and have only had horrible service from them. Not helpful at all.
I use another agent who is fantastic. He also will tell you straight up if he thinks you will get the visa or not. If he feels you will be denyed he will inform you of this before taking your money. All expats I know always use him and avoid Banana.

You must have a work permit to work. No if and or buts. However, in many situations (like resort work) the company pays the employee a salary while they wait for the completion of the work permit.
I would listen to immigration as they are the ones that can fine or deport you if you are caught working without a permit.

You need a Non-immigrant Visa to buy a motorbike. Doesn't have to be an "O" type, can be any type. As long as it is a non-imm Visa. This is a Visa for people who are in Thailand long term for business, family, work, retirement, etc.

Not all Thai men with farang ladies are in it for the money. Some of them actually prefer them to thai women. First, they have beautiful white skin. Something all Thai Ladies want, and Thai men like. But lets face it. It doesnt matter how much whitening cream they use they will never look like us. Second, they are way less possessive. I know some farang men who would definately agree. Third, they do not clean them dry of every penny they make. Most farang ladies I know want to make their own living.
Also, not all thai men with farang live off of their lady. Some of them do have money of their own.
As for the sinsod question, which is really what this thread is about, yes some do pay it. But as mentioned numerous times before most western women will not accept it. But I guess it depends on the situation.
My boyfriend (thai) has spoken of it a few times and I laugh at him. But he insists that he has to or it is no good for his family. They don't want people to think he is with me for money. But his family has more than enough to go around. But I doubt if that day ever comes my parents will not accept it, or will for his family's sake but will most definately give it back later.
