  1. Well possibly but like has been said, he just posted this up as if it is a new problem not something he's had for some time, so assuming it is new, tire size, while not helpful, is not likely the problem at least not exclusively. All things being equal though, they may have exacerbated an already existing issue until it's finally caused a more serious issue, that is now magnified by their size.

  2. As some have said above, steering tie rod end, or inner tie rod end, ball joint if applicable, steering rack possibly, is it rack and pinion? Not likely to be shocks or springs or tire size, what your describing is the vehicle getting light going over a bump and the steering pulling you one way or the other when settling down again and due to road friction this is usually an indication of slack in one the above mentioned parts. Presumably the car has 4 wheel independent suspension and if the back alignment is out of whack that can also cause the car to lurch left or right when it gets light on it's suspension but usually that doesn't happen at low speeds only higher speeds like cresting a rise or something at a reasonable pace.

not likely to be tire size? He had 265 series 35 profile tires. Have you ever driven a vehicle in thailand with 35 series tires? Have you ever seen 265mm width of flat road surface in thailand?

I can tell you from experience in USA with roads that far surpass almost anything I have seen in thailand that wide low profile tires will pull in any direction on anything but a perfectly level road.

He may have any number of issues that you mentioned but with his tire combination (and unknown vehicle) he can never expect a reasonable ride quality in thailand.

By the way..you think he has coiliovers on a live axle rear end? Obviously he has 4 wheel independent suspension.

Ok so like I said not likely to be tire size, he doesn't mention anything about having just made a tire upgrade so it's easy to assume (since that's what you're suggesting I do with the rest of his post), this is a new problem he's not had before. If he has well then that info being left out makes it difficult to diagnose. Were did you get a live rear axle from? I don't recall him mentioning that piece of info? I certainly don't take anything for granted here, he could have meant coil overs front, nothing is obvious on here but thanks for the needless correction anyways.

I do agree with your tire PSI recommendation though, 28 would be way too low..

  4. I wasn't trying to screw up anything, I was simply commenting on what seemed to be a piss-take at the expense of the Thais.

How do I know the "Bugatti" base car is a Civic? Because it is, I recognise it and certain Civic styling elements and there have been discussions about it in the past. Take a look at the rear side window and roof lines just for a start.

You are right though, Seat and Bugatti are both VW marques but the conversion on the Civic was not done with any Bugatti parts so there is no VW connection.

    Anyway, moving on...

Gee I had hoped you got the message the first time and would leave it lie but no such luck. Ok so maybe it's a Civic? So what, was the point of my response in regards to your need to attempt to derail what is supposed to be a thread in jest, not placing any emphasis on accuracy, in the first place. A light hearted look at people's over creativity with their vehicles and some a lack of taste altogether instead of the usual tight lipped technical threads like Claire is always bringing upgiggle.gifthumbsup.gif .

My god, you're a bit bloody touchy, aren't you, are responses to your posts forbidden, is there a forum rule that I've overlooked? Why do you think you're in the position to make other posters "get the message", "Don" Warpspeed?

One of the reasons I responded was that you asked a question about what made me think it was a Civic so I told you. No derailing involved. Contrary to what you say, there was an emphasis on accuracy, from you, otherwise you wouldn't have posted that giant pic of the Seat in an attempt to back up your incorrect assertion.

    Who is Claire?

How ironic... Yes, sure I'm the touchy one here rolleyes.gif . Anyway just like the rest of the thread you're not keeping up, Clare is another member who comes here regularly to ask for advice and he posted in this thread already. Back on topic..

  5. Actually this one is not that bad in taking this SEAT and making into a baby Bugatti. biggrin.png

I think you'll find that the "Seat" is an EG series Civic.

Why are you taking the rise out of Thai modifiers? I could be wrong but the "Thai turbo charging [sic]" example is almost definitely not Thai, much more likely to be US judging from the left hand drive and what looks like a Merkur XR4 behind it. The grass, background and picket fencing is not typically Thai either.

Here we go! There's always one trying to screw up even an intended humorous thread. facepalm.gifrolleyes.gif

Not sure how you think it;s a Civic? But I'm thinking it's this and it makes more sense too since they're both VW products.

Though there are differences, so is the whole car. Anyway, moving on..

This forum is anything motoring, from anywhere.......thumbsup.gif

I'm well aware of that, my comment was directed at his apparent dig at Thai modifiers.

Touchy much? Sure I was taking a dig at Thai modifiers, and Americans and plenty of others, that's the theme of the thread but seldom in my extensive travels have I ever come across as entertaining a modifications as I have in Thailand some good and many bad ideas. That particular one, while I know did not come from Thailand, was too much like a Thai mod in comparison, besides you've no idea whether or not it's a Thai guy now living in the states now do you?

  7. What's wrong with this? It's a flood truck, man we were really glad to see these during that time, they were life savers and rode out of the floods on the back of one, a raised Jeep, they guy drove us about 3 miles and wouldn't take a dime even for gas. I always said, like here in Florida when a hurricane comes, though very seldom, adversity brings out the best in most of humanity when we ALL need each other to survive.

The problem is the other 99.5% of the time when it's a rollover accident looking for a curve to happen...

Well there is that. The suspension does look pretty stiff and boxy.

  9. So where i'm living in Portugal, my friend gave me 2 silver chrome

vents that are stick on, the car has to do a yearly inspection for

safety, because those parts weren't stock standard from the factory

i had to remove them before i could the certificate, what a boring

country this is, no hot rods or customizing here, move on now.

Pity you, I thought Thailand was bad... sad.png

  10. Awe come on Claire, you can come up with something more creative then that? BTW it doesn't have to be acceptable, most of these are barely acceptable so far anyway.

    Let a woman drive it

    Motors%20Female%20driver.jpg

Possibly the Thai roads might be safer if we did......

Speaking of body modifications.... she needs a nose job.

No way.. That's Asian character and part of what makes Asian ladies unique, like their voluptuous, sexy lips.

  11. Warped Speed has taken crassness (So crude and unrefined as to be lacking in discrimination and sensibility) in posting pictures to a new level...down! biggrin.png

Sometimes you gotta mix it up around here.. Like to see more pics posted to show some, shall we say.................................. creative car mods, though........ BTW this thread encompasses ALL things not to do with your car so some silly crash pics or similar nonsense would fit that topic as well.

Weegee I seldom post in the general forum, way too much animosity going on there for my liking, makes this forum look like the knitting forum most of the time whistling.gif .

  12. I remember years ago a local car breakers converting an old Jaguar XJ12 into a pick up and putting a towing winch on the back. It had very wide Wolfrace alloy wheels on it and a big bore, fishtail exhaust on it. I often used to see it hauling in old cars. Sadly those were the days when cameras were rare things rolleyes.gif

My nephew is at the moment converting a Fiat Cinquecento with a turbo charged Hayabusa engine and a rear limited slip diff. It should be a bit nippy when finished whistling.gif

My step father converted his Lincoln continental into a pick up and it came out surprisingly well, (unfortunately no pics) we also installed large rolling racks over the bed he bought at a junk yard (my suggestion when I saw them) so we could carry rolls of carpet and padding on the top and roll them off when we got to the job.

  14. Buuuuuuuuuut this a thread about things NOT to do to a car, and taking the you know what out of the silly rides people come up with T/A. You want to open yours up to that? Besides I don't feel like your car qualifies for this thread, nothing wrong with it, it's just modded.

The vid quality is terrible but this is pretty nutty.

Crap! Never can embed videos, can a mod help out?

  15. the next problem will be a broken flux capacitor. I bought a car in BKK and they told me the fix was new tires. didn't work. so then they said new windshield to fix the broken tail light. when i left, the cracked timing belt went into the heads and the car exploded......

luckily i was on the roof drinking...

i'm guessing no lemon law in Thailand....no way...i think in America you have to take it back three times...

    i'll check back...

    good luck

No lemon law in the states for used vehicles and to have it honored on new it has to be the same issue more than thrice.
