  1. The one thing that this pandemic has highlighted, to me at least, is that the world is full of glass half empty doom and gloom merchants, who just live to wallow in misery. What part of what I said are you struggling to understand?
  2. What are you babbling on about? Nobody knows actual numbers of infections, in any country. The one thing that this pandemic has highlighted, to me at least, is that the world is full of glass half empty doom and gloom merchants, who just live to wallow in misery.
  3. You sound disappointed. Try and be a bit more positive. You 'suppose' it's good news. A downward trend in infections is good news. Period. As for the rest of your doomy post...they started easing restriction s 2 weeks ago, and the world hasn't caved in.
  4. Yea Jack, I was surprised too. I put it down to the almost non existent passenger traffic at the airport giving them plenty of time to vet everyone thoroughly. No idea why I had to give a Thai contacts mobile number, but like I say, they were quite polite about it. I have no doubt that the pre covid clampdown on people deemed to be spending too much time in Thailand on tourist visas/visa exemptions is alive and well, and 2022 will see a return of the denied entry threads on this forum.
  5. The stamps aren't fake. Visa was issued by Thai immigration, so you certainly won't have any issues obtaining a tourist visa. However, you might get questioned coming back into Thailand on a tourist visa after spending so long in the country. There was a general crackdown on that before covid, and I would imagine that's still the case. I arrived back last month on a TV, after being out of the country for 18 months, and 2 immigration officers scoured through my history on their computer. They asked why I was here and for a contact in Thailand. They were perfectly polite, but it was a bit unnerving. Make sure you've got your story straight.
  6. No surprise that those old buggers got rounded up. I passed them most evenings, huddled together, boozing, no masks, and obviously couldn't care less about catching and spreading covid. They didn't look like the sharpest tools in the box, so maybe they just forgot about the pandemic.
