Last update:
Last Friday I received a telephone call from Immigration that they wanted to visit my house on Monday so I had to cancel my trip...
They showed up, took a few pictures with my family, my witness and one Immigration Officer filled in a form with all the info about my witness and left after only 5 minutes.
I was not asked a single question ????

Update bank account:
My extension of stay will always expire March 12th.
First week of December I transfer THB 420.000 from my bank account in Holland => Krungsri account that I will NOT use anymore till I get the "application of stay is under consideration" stamp in my passport ????
This Krungsri account is dedicated for this purpose only so I can not 'screw it up'. This also means that in March my money is long enough in my bank account.
The official rule is: first time 2 months, after that 3 months but longer and some more money is never a problem.....
Again this is at Jomtien in Pattaya, keep in mind that maybe at your Immigration Offices, the rules might be a bit different!
My advice to everybody:
- write down exactly what the Immigration Officer want, use my template for example, modify it or create your own
- listen what they want: must be a savings account in your name only - this means do NOT open a joined bank account
- letter bank and update bankbook must be same date of application, next day is NOT accepted
- they want a handwritten map so do NOT give them a print screen of Google Earth
- give them what they want, nothing more, nothing less.....
Last and not least always keep a copy of all documents for yourself so next year it will be a peace of cake and it is a peace of cake if you just follow THEIR rules if you like them or not, if they make sence or not - nobody is interested at Immigration in your opinion!
Almost forget, you also have to sign several Thai documents - no English translation - about overstay, sign them if you want your new extension-of-stay ????
Good luck.

No, you have to deal with the Immigration Office in your area, where you are 'registered'.
Only 90 days can do in other offices if you are not near your office when it expires.

Hi all,
This week I have to go to Jomtien Immigration office for a new extension of stay based on 'take car my family'.
I just read on the Pattaya Expat Club website that additional documents are now required:
Currently, any ‘extension of stay’ application (form-TM7) in Thailand requires
- additional proof of ‘address in Thailand’
- plus property owner’s details on form-TM30
Can people confirm that this is correct as over the last 5 years they never asked me about this.
If so, what is accepted for
1) "additional proof of ‘address in Thailand"
Any bill from AIS / 3BB Internet will do I suppose, correct?
2) plus property owner’s details on form-TM30
Found a copy of the TM30 when I moved in to my house 5 years ago, is this accepted?
Thanks for your help
PS I am Dutch, not sure if that is important to know :-)

Why o why do you still NOT know the rules how to travel and stay in Thailand? You blame immigration for refusing you entry to Thailand BUT the only one to blame is yourself NOT knowing how to travel and stay legally in Thailand. I live and work here for almost 20 years and never had a problem as long as you follow the rules of Immigration if you like them or not, if they make sense or not - not a single Thai Immigration officer is interested in that! Even if you have 10 BMW's in front of your house, even if you own 10 condo's, even if you have 100.000.000 THB in your bank account in Thailand, if you can NOT show THB 20.000 you will probably denied entry to Thailand, it's that simple so do not blame Thai Immigration for doing their job.....
PS this is not personally but to everybody who has problems entering Thailand - do your HOMEWORK!!
Almost forget, if you not like the requirements that is your problem - not their problem ????

Must be your first time at Immigration :-) Anyway, if you give Immigration a copy of your passport, draw 2 Parallel lines diagonally across the document copy and write something like "Only for purposes of Thai Immigration" & date (or whatever is appropriate) in between the lines. That is quite standard in Thailand when you need to give copies of important documents to all and sundry.

In my opinion it is your job to find out WHAT immigration wants WHAT forms you need to fill in, understand 90 day report, what visa do I need, re-entry permit etc etc. - YOUR job and YOUR job alone!!
You can not expect from Immigration Officers (at land crossings, immigration offices and airports) to explain to you ( in one minutes as more people are waiting) what kind of papers you need for your stay in Thailand.
Every person comes from a different country and everyone has different requirements and to make it even more difficult some Immigration Offices maybe even have additional requirements.
So again it is YOUR job and not THEIR job to find out what YOU need, Immigration Officers only check if the papers you give to them are correct for your situation.
If you have no idea, use Internet / Thai Visa to find out what you need in your situation.
Before people start to complain that the requirements are not clear, correct - welcome in Thailand :-)
-
There must be hundreds of postings from members who all had the same question like you so browse the board and look what they all needed for documents
Unfortunately I have a NON-Immigrant O based on family so I can't help you.
Most Immigration officers will speak more or less English so language should not be the problem, the correct papers with the correct dates and stamps are the real problem!

If you work for a decent company, they should do all the paperwork for you, including your wife.
I had several work permits, once a year I went to BOI with our HR staff and as they did all the paperwork for me, I only had to 'show my face' and sign all the papers.
For the 90 days day's I signed some document so that HR could do the 90 days on my behalf.
In my opinion it should not be on your plate....

Every year someone posts a list of legal holidays on this Thai visa forum.
If you go looking for it you will see the holidays listed.
Labor Day is a Thai government holiday and immigration will be closed this year on Labor day May1st as it is every year.
Just come back from Jomtien / Pattaya, did my 90 days and was in/out in less than 1 minute!

I remember seeing Russian girls in micro-bikini at the Immigration Office in Jomtien, surprised that they were send away and they had no idea why!
Russians had to explain it Russian and they still did get it....

As far as I know, the good news - still is - that you can write down ANY income you like as there will be NO verification of your income.
Very, very strange but true! A lot of Dutch people use this way to stay in Thailand although they do not meet the qualification if it comes to income.
PS this is well know among the Dutch people...

@Cypress Hill - I use this method for several years now and not see what the problem is in my post.
Please share your comments so as I can reply to it.

Just find a good employer, I have had several work permits and never paid a single THB for it.
If a company wants to hire you - and they are serious - they should do all paper work for you and pay for all expenses, the only thing I ever did was put my signature on all documents for Labour Department.
You probably need to go with HR staff to Labour Department one time as well but that's all you have to do.
I'm held by immigration in suvarnabhumi airport
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits

As far as I know a VISA doesn't give you ANY rights to enter Thailand, it is up to the Immigration Officer to allow you access to Thailand. If they say 'no' it's 'no' regardless of your VISA.....
