  1. It's maybe not the correct forum but I have no idea in which forum to ask this question, so I will try it in this forum.

I look for information about freeze-drying / lyophilization.

I see a lot of freeze-dried fruit at BigC Extra (very expensive by the way) and I want to see if I can freeze-dry our fruit as well so we can use it later or sell it at the market.

Are there any factories or companies in Chonburi area that can do that for you?

I had  a look at some Youtube movies and it looks like you need  a big machine for that, something I have no money for...

    Any information is appreciated.

"No money, no passport". That says a lot. Only thing left after a lenghty stay in Thailand is a bad temper and a non-functioning brain.
There are times, when I can understand the TAT = Quality tourists in, basket cases out!

I insist, there are sighns that indicate when a person is on the verge of "cracking-up". I could make a list of symptoms, but to keep it short: Irregular, agressive behaviour, incoherent talk, lack of personal hygene and disregarding the simlplest forms of "dress-code" are very basic indicators.
    - There is no way, that the Dutchman "cracked-up" overnight in such a way. Warning sighns were ignored by his "surroundings".
An idea: Instead of checking Farangs wearing no helmets while driving their Motorbikes, why the Police not follow up on "hints from within the populace", signaling those "walking time bombs" in time. Most will be on "overstay" anyway. Better they "crack-up" in their home-country, instead of Thailand.
    Cheers.
PS: Would not recomment for any Farangs to aquire property near "Ban Khok Muang" for the next 25 years. The locals are equipped with some sort of "Elephant-Memory".

I agree but "Irregular, aggressive behaviour, incoherent talk, lack of personal hygiene and disregarding the simplest forms of "dress-code" are very basic indicators." are NOT illegal, so the police can't do anything.

  3. I want to buy an electric pizza oven but I found out that it needs 3 phase electric and I have only 2 phase electric at my rented home in a moo baan.

It is possible to install 3 phase electricity for only one device only at your home and any idea about the cost?

Understand that it will have to be 'approved' by the owner but I have no idea about the cost and at the PEA there was today nobody who could speak English....

Who want to share his thought with me, it is possible or should I forget the whole idea.

    Thanks,

  4. After many, many years of working in Thailand I have never seen / worked for a company that uses Google GSuite, they all work with some version of Microsoft Office 2007 / 2010 / 2016 / 365

About three weeks ago I switched from Microsoft Office 365 => Google GSuite and I am very, very satisfied with it!!

Uploaded all my data to G-Drive and can now use any computer I like to access my data as long as it has an Internet connection :-)

Can use Windows with Internet Explorer / Google Chrome / Firefox or Brave , can use any Linux version with again Google Chrome / Firefox or Brave, can use OS X with Safari, can use my Android phone / tablet to access my documents etc.

I can simply buy ANY laptop and I am up and running as soon as I connect myself to Internet again....

How many people use Google Suite instead of Microsoft Office 365?

  5. >> Another solution, much cheaper than the whole-house ventilation system suggested, would be to place a stand fan by one open window in order to increase the exchange of air with outside.

Will try that tonight, never thought about that!

you need to install a "whole-house-fan". use the search function, several threads exist. our home is cooled down and aired (with few exceptions) every day by a huge fan running from 0500 till 0700.

besides the big fan i installed in all rooms small manually operated exhaust fans.

If I ever build my own house, I will certainly have a look at this a 'whole-house-fan' - but a bit difficult if you rent.....

Are we talking 'centralized HVAC' (air exchange) or 'AirCon' (heat exchange/dehumidifier).

I see these as two very different things.

    I am talking about a room air-conditioner - Mitsubishi SRK19CES and a SRK25CES

  8. Example, last night temperature in my room 30 degrees, temperature outside 25 degrees. Opened the windows for a couple of hours (with mosquito windows closed) no result, still 30 degrees so had the switch the airco on again.

Opening the window would achieve a similar effect at a lower cost.

Agree, but I have mosquito windows and curtains in front of my windows (because of the street lights) so I need 'forced' cooling, if I open my window nothing will happen in my room...

Because it is designed to intake air from the inside.  Imagine if there was an outside air intake:  that would need another hole in the wall and another place for bugs to enter, notwithstanding that the outside air temperature is usually warmer than the conditioned inside.

An 'extra' hole in your wall - if it saves energy - should not be a problem I think.

I noticed the opposite (depends on where you live in thailand of course) - many time it's colder outside my house than inside BUT the problem is that the walls of my house are so ^&%$* hot because of the sun that I need an aircon to lower the temp in my room while the outside air is cold enough ....

  11. If I use my airco at night and set the temperature at let's say at 27 degrees, why if it is OUTSIDE colder than 27 degrees the aircon will not use the air from outside to cool your room?

Understand we need to 'modify' the airco as it can't use air from outside now but it would save a lot of energy I think...

  12. In my opinion it is your job to find out WHAT immigration wants WHAT forms you need to fill in, understand 90 day report, what visa do I need, re-entry permit etc etc. - YOUR job and YOUR job alone!!

You can not expect from Immigration Officers (at land crossings, immigration offices and airports) to explain to you ( in one minutes as more people are waiting) what kind of papers you need for your stay in Thailand.

Every person comes from a different country and everyone has different requirements and to make it even more difficult some Immigration Offices maybe even have additional requirements.

So again it is YOUR job and not THEIR job to find out what YOU need, Immigration Officers only check if the papers you give to them are correct for your situation.

If you have no idea, use Internet / Thai Visa to find out what you need in your situation.

Before people start to complain that the requirements are not clear, correct - welcome in Thailand :-)
