  1. If you don't trust the Cloud, I would certainly not use e-mail and Internet, very dangerous with keyloggers, viruses, spyware, malware, ransomware, phishing mails etc etc

Although you don't trust the Cloud, just have a look at Crasplan - it makes the whole day backup's, never have to look at it and it saved my life already several times!

  2. I live and work almost 15 years in Thailand and I have never seen staff or a company that uses Excel / Word VBA or templates.

I worked for a transport company where the clerk was updating sheets on a monthly base - it took her two days of work.

Somebody wrote her a macro and now it took her only 5 minutes!

Even simple formulas are unknown, they use Excel and do the calculation with ..................a calculator!

Templates for Word, unknown - they format the same letter over and over and over again.

What is your opinion / experience - are they not interested??

  3. Just have a look: http://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-34346620 or this one: http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/829937-irish-man-claims-his-house-land-worth-bt65-million-defrauded/

So with the "right wife and lawyers" it looks like it is possible - it probably will end up "his word against their words" and guess who will lose....

  4. Just find a good employer, I have had several work permits and never paid a single THB for it.

If a company wants to hire you - and they are serious - they should do all paper work for you and pay for all expenses, the only thing I ever did was put my signature on all documents for Labour Department.

You probably need to go with HR staff to Labour Department one time as well but that's all you have to do.

  5. According to danish law it does not matter if your spouse or cohabitant is Thai or Danish or other nationality. They just reduce the pension amount because it is cheaper per person to live 2 persons together than living alone. In this case they probably don't look at income level of thai cohabitant as that info may be difficult to obtain for Thai women.

But they probably will not catch many cheaters this way as many danish pensioners in Thailand will probably have a pro-forma address in an EU country and then get the full pension. I actually heard some danish pensioners in Thailand bragging about this a few years ago.

    >> They just reduce the pension amount because it is cheaper per person to live 2 persons together than living alone.

This is exactly what my government tell me as well, which is a complete mystery for me as living alone is simply cheaper - it's that simple!

So to use "government logic" is is cheaper to go out together than alone.....

  6. Letter from the bank must be the same day when you go to Immigration AND bankbook must be the same amount as the letter from the bank, don't even withdraw 50 satang!!!

I once made the mistake to withdraw money immediately after I had my letter .... wrong, not the same sir :-(

The letter from the bank does not have to be on same day as application. Also when I did my extension in bkk the io wanted to see an update on that day. Made the gf run down stairs to deposit 100 baht. This is not needed everywhere but is in bkk. Also the bankbook is then different to bank letter. Many people get an amount over the 800k

It all depends on the Immigration Office and Immigration Officer who will handle your paperwork, better go safe - maybe your officer that day is a nitpicker .........
