  1. Oh my God what sad existinces I read about here. poor lonely guys. Scills of behavior is noon to nothing...

A nood, smile and than just passing. that would cost you poor guys so much?????

Yes I agree, the ones I considerated to be a´holes home, is still a´holes here.

    Glegolo

A nod, a smile doesn't cost much, no indeed, but I am just not that into hollow, shallow greetings without any feeling nor meaning.

But if anybody else wants to walk around, with a perpetual smile, nodding at everybody they pass, because it makes them happy, go ahead, do your thing, no worries.

  2. This must be another example of this countries unique. Thainess! Will they ever learn?

What does this have to do with Thainess? These sort of vicious murders don't happen elsewhere?

Will they ever learn what? How to be a good (and clearly superior) white man like yourself?

What is it with these people who interpret every news story to fit their narrow vision of this country? Save it for your bar stool, pal. Most of the people on these forums are sick of this condescending racist rubbish.

    Well said Globeman !!!

  3. You should have looked at a map and the size of the country and the distances between the places you visit.

And do not try to see a whole frickin' country in 3 weeks, that's nuts !!

Only the Japanese, Koreans and Chinese can do that.

They endure all the travel inconveniences you describe and more, to get to as many places as possible, in a minimum amount of time.

But, they have all meals etc. booked well in advance, so they can at least enjoy their own food without surprises.

To make such a very stressful trip highly successful, they shoot thousands of photos and videos of the places they visit and travel through.

And all of this, to enjoy their pictures and videos, in the most personalized and relaxed atmosphere there is for them, namely: "their home".

Might just work for you as well, give it a try next time !

  4. And not low ranking one is a police lieutenant

A couple of years ago a similar kidnapping happened in Bangkok with an American being kidnapped for ransom.

The cops found this man through sms-es the man's maid received during the kidnapping from the kidnappers.

As it turned out she was involved.

Man was found after several days in some townhouse in the outskirts of Bangkok tied to a bed.

He had been tortured and beaten to retrieve his bank info.

Kidnappers were fellow Americans, Thai police officers and Thai immigration officers (even a colonel).

This gang, supposedly, had done similar kidnappings before.

Nothing new in the Land of Smiles.

Mostly though, the kidnappings are done, by throwing people in jail on false charges, to let them buy their way out.

    Same game, different play !

  5. Quote: "The statute of limitations for the speeding charge against Vorayuth is due to expire on Sept 3."

Also when the speeding results in the death of a third person ?

If this is true, I wonder why people shoot each other in this country ??

It's easier to kill somebody by hitting them with a car and then go underground for a year somewhere nice.

    Done !! Charges expired !!

    Wow....

  6. Why don't you go to a restaurant/pub for food and a beer where there are no expats.

I would avoid them at any cost if they really moan as much as you describe.

Seems pretty dumb, returning to places where you meet these annoying moaning expats time after time!

  7. Plenty of drunken backpackers around CM. Though there certainly is less of a P4P scene. The thing is, many of the crimes in Phuket involve vacationing families. Even some of the hotel operators can be shady characters.

You say the magic word: Backpackers = Not much money.

Chiangmai has a lot of tourists but mostly backpackers.

That is why there is more criminality surrounding tourists in Phuket and Pataya.

  8. Quote:

"The official said he had delivered the warning to many vendors in the area that the authorities would launch crackdown on those who continue violate the laws, with fine set at 2,000 baht per offence. After the warning was issued, the situation improved somewhat, he added."

Beautiful, offenders get warned in advance.

They know exactly where the offenders are and what to look for, so instead of nabbing them, no, they warn them for upcoming raids.

Wow, what a great system !!

Prevention at its best, Thai style.

  9. Quote:

"As for her father admitting that his daughter did take drug, Mr. Chalerm hypothesised that Mr. Surasakdi was shocked and confused by the photo, so there might have been some miscommunication."

Thai humor, sometimes seems a bit childish, to us Westerners but Thailand does have a great stand up comedian in Chalerm.

The man makes me laugh every time he opens his mouth !!

Funds raised to help Phuket turtles

I was happy there for a minute.

When I read the title, I thought they were going to do something about certain car-drivers, on Phuket.

But they were referring to other turtles.

Despite the disappointment: Good one boys, well done !!!

The DSI boss said, “The DSI has two main responsibilities [in Phuket], cracking down on ‘mafia’ activities and on foreign-run companies with nominee Thai shareholders.”

A center for Control of Organized Crime by the DSI (The Thai FBI) in Phuket.

Since when are foreign-run companies with nominee Thai shareholders Organized Crime.

They are illegal, yes, but Organized Crime ??

  12. I honestly think that world over .... The death penalty should be in force for sexual offenses on minors of any age up to the age of acceptable adult consentment ... as to what that age should be ...? Yes .. debatable !...There is so much and so many infant / child rapes happening all over the world which lead to many other crimes committed thereafter by these very same victims who then themselves get undue severe punishments for acts they do caused by the abuses they themselves went through ... but that their abusers got away with for years as they were too scared to expose them .... the violaters that is !! It is all very sad and where is the limit of control & punishment that won't on the other hand make people subdued to overwhelming police monitoring & control ...

    I fully agree !

Most pedophiles commit the same acts again after release from prison and/or are multiple offenders.

It is a sexual urge they cannot control.

Just stop it at the spot and kill them when caught.

That is probably the only way to eradicate this problem.

    Scumbags.

  13. Most of them just say that we should try not to escalate the problem, which I am not planning. (But, they should stop annoying the employers.)

Look which motorcycle club they are with, see which MC they have a non friendly relationship with and than hire a member of this non friendly motorcycle club as an employee of your shop.

    Problem solved !
