  1. This is slightly off-topic, but finally in Louisiana someone woke up: v12044gd0000chnqai3c77u4va0vise0.mp4
  2. You mean you don't want those perverse cleaning ladies we see in Thai public toilets?
  3. I don't understand why so many of these right-wingers get all worked up about who is using whose toilet. It makes me wonder just what they are doing in there that gives them such an odd fascination with what everybody else is doing.
  4. This knee-jerk reaction against renewables is befuddling. I understand people questioning those big, ugly windmills, but solar is much less intrusive. Mostly, I can't understand how people would take a stand against energy that is largely free, has no pipelines, isn't subject to the whims of geopolitical clashes and sanctions. Leaking oil pipelines and toxic derailments aren't a problem with solar or wind. I've never heard of a sunshine leak. For the big boys who need to play in the dirt, build a WATER pipeline from the great lakes to the Colorado River. Make the Desert Green Again.
  5. So, you find ONE example from ONE school that has a questionable book. From that brush, all LGBTQ people are getting tarred.
  6. LGBT+ people are fleeing Florida in ‘mass migration’ over ‘Don’t Say Gay’ law Anti-LGBT+ laws put in place by Florida Governor and presidential candidate Ron DeSantis have triggered a “mass migration” out of the state, a Pride organiser has said. This comes as several transgender people are reportedly taking to GoFundMe to solicit donations to move out of the state. Several Pride groups in the Sunshine State have cancelled their celebrations that were set to take place during the month of June after the new laws have left the community worried about possible blowback. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/ron-desantis-florida-lgbt-law-b2348259.html
  7. Well, let's start with your hysteria. Nobody is exposing children's to sexually explicit material. There are laws about sexually explicit material on the books, and it's enforced. Nobody is interested in your children from the LGBTQ community. Drag Queens are entertainers, they are paid to entertain. There is no evidence of grooming. Do you think there were no precursors to the Nazi book burning? Do you think this was the first action against gays (and others)? First, they outlawed homosexuality, later they broadened the definition to make it easier to prosecute and increased punishments Some of what they did can be found here: https://encyclopedia.ushmm.org/content/en/article/paragraph-175-and-the-nazi-campaign-against-homosexuality But this is about it being a 'scary time'. It's clear that the anti-LGBTQ community is in full swing. It's a little harder in the US to muster up the hate, but it will get there. Florida has the 'Don't Say Gay" laws but far right-wingers were able to export their hate to Uganda which now has the "Kill the Gays" law. Do you see where this is going? Do you see the similarities?
  8. The typical discounting and minimizing of a factual statement. What has happened in the past with devastating and deadly consequences is happening again. I see you are keeping track of the numbers and where the targeted victims are living. It makes any final solution much quicker.
  9. Oh, wow, you found one case that fits your narrative. Perhaps you want me to post a few hundred that don't? Here's a little info for you: The questionnaire found that a majority of transgender adults are happier after transitioning, with 78% of respondents noting that living as a gender outside the one assigned at birth has increased their satisfaction in life, reported the Washington Post. https://www.theguardian.com/society/2023/mar/24/majority-trans-adults-happier-transitioning-survey#:~:text=The questionnaire found that a,life%2C reported the Washington Post.
  10. On the issue of culture wars, the far right is following the Nazi playbook. Did you know the book burning started May 6, 1933 with the burning of books by Dr. Magnus Hirschfeld's books? Those books: Its library and archives of around 20,000 books and journals were publicly hauled out and burned in the street. Its collection included unique works on intersexuality, homosexuality, and transgender topics.[7][8][9][10] It's assumed that Dora Richter, the first transgender woman known to have undergone sex reassignment surgery (by doctors at the institute), may have been killed during the attack.[11][10] And just to be clear, they did 'come after them' and yes they did put them in concentration camps, and they did kill them. They killed thousands of them. What's more, they erased them entirely from society. "Those who forget history are doomed to repeat it", comes to mind on this issue. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nazi_book_burnings
  11. Has anyone else noticed that when it comes to any discussion about Trump's misdeeds, the basic argument is ignored? In this case, the documents in question, were not his. He has stolen, illegally taken, or whatever you want to call the original 'crime.' He had no right to take the documents, and everything thereafter is criminal.
  12. Honest political fodder? Really? What office is Hunter Biden running for?
  13. Unless there is a comprehension problem, the facts do change. The virus changes and with it the effectiveness of treatments. Science is always open to new evidence.
  14. ....and just to be clear, there is nothing 'experimental' about it. I know that word worked well the anti-vaxxers during Covid, but it's the same misinformation and narrative.
  15. I did, obviously you will not be deterred from hysteria. You support denying medical treatment for people with a diagnosable medical condition and proven, effective treatments? You are intervening in something that is none of your business, none of your concern, and has no effect on your life.
  16. I find it interesting that these same right-wingers who seem to think that when only 1% of the population was dying of covid, it was no big problem, but suddenly the .06% of the population who identify as transgender are of dire concern. Medical decisions for children are left to the doctors, the patient and the parents. That includes medical intervention.
  17. No doubt this is because of all the vaccinations he's received. ????
  18. It seems like only yesterday when he was telling us that he was going to end chain-migration. How did that work out?
  19. Trump is doing here what he does best, he is dividing the nation. He is again promising something he can't deliver on but will cause the targeting of vulnerable people.
  20. I completely agree. He's just a person who has no respect for the Constitution.
  21. I don't think Trump has much respect for the constitution, and it would appear that he has a Supreme Court that might not as well.
  22. Why is it that the right-wingers always want to take a non-problem and make it a problem? How many Chinese birthers do you think there are? Please note from your source: The suspected operators have not been charged but are being questioned. Also note: None of the women were arrested And finally, this is a 5-year-old article. I wonder who was President?
  23. Well, I don't wish to get into an argument about who wants to go where, but 30% of Vancouver is Chinese for a starter. The group of people I am referring to were the wealthy Hong Kongers who wanted a second passport as an insurance policy against China. They largely went to Canada because they did not wish to pay US taxes. They also did not wish to live in either the US or Canada beyond getting a passport. A few people from HK that I knew had their wives in Canada obtaining the passport while they remained in HK running their family business.
  24. And people who can afford $80,000 to give birth in the US are probably a good bet for having the means to immigrate to the US if they want. Like a lot of the HK Chinese who migrated overseas, they wanted a 2nd passport as an insurance policy. Many returned once they secured either US or Canadian citizenship. Canadian citizenship is more desirable because the US requires overseas income to be taxed if you are a citizen. Try not get too hysterical.
