They have to be a member of the deposit insurance agency. There is a specific list, make no mistake. https://www.baac.or.th/baac_en/

Thanks for the replies so far. Again, I'm asking here because I don't trust the lady at the bank. How can I get another account there? When I asked about opening a foreign currency account I had to jump through a lot of hoops including going to the embassy, to get a letter confirming that my passport is valid. It seems as though if I already have an account there that I shouldn't have to do any of that.
I'm trying to get a 30 day entry (with covid extension) converted to an O-visa so I can get another retirement extension. I had one before but it expired when I left Thailand for a while.
Thanks.
Just get a fixed account with a bank book and preferably with a bank, which still pays a little interest, like the ICBC.

Hey Mr. Pornsil Patchrintanakul, those countries mentioned would be happy to export their uncontaminated organically farmed soy beans and wheat to Thailand as well. Furthermore it would spur the organic farming of soybeans and wheat, which is done by the two countries Brazil and the U.S. already, i.e. the U.S. responsible for 15% of all organic farmed soybeans on the world market, China 58%. Just change the supplier, then Thailand is all set. You might miss out the brown envelope from the current suppliers, but I believe that is bearable.

The easiest and most effective solution is in place since years (see attachment), though not in Thailand. It also covers the coconut shell to prevent possible rain water. Using Velcro-Tape is recommended as they can adjust to various circumferences of the tree. Thailand probably needs an academic chair to come up with a working solution.

The plebs have huge financial power but don't know it.
The same with Macao, they virtually kicked the backpackers out, and now the streets are empty in the evening, the hawkers are gone as well as the local colour.

thai salmon fish comes from china and not norway ?
90% of all farmed salmon i.e in British Columbia is farmed by Norwegian companies. 90% of all farmed salmons on the Thai market comes from Norway or BC. Bon appétit!

Pharmed Salmon is what we can buy here in Thailand. It might be covid free, but the amount of chemicals used to produce this fish, makes it unhealthy to consume. PCBs, dioxins, DDT and dieldrin, as well as Canthaxanthin and Emamectin benzoate are being used to raise the salmon. AFAIK wild salmon though is healthy but not available in Thailand.

Since you can't do a 90 day report in person at any office other than your local IO, I'd be very surprised if another office would process a report by mail, regardless of what it says on the Immigration website. Have you personally done a report by mail to another office which is not your local office? Perhaps Ubonjoe can comment?
The Immigration entertains its own "90 DAYS REGISTRATION" division in Bangkok. And as there are no exclusions mentioned, one should be able to do it there. I personally have never done it there, as mailing within Hat Yai is cheaper than mailing to BKK. May be other members can contribute to this question.

Actually, no they can't. Some immigration offices don't do 90 day reports by mail.
You do not have to use your local immigration office...

Compared to European banks the rates a still way to high. What even is worse, that all these pawn shops fleece their uneducated customers big time, and are not being controlled by the government at all.

Been trying to do it online for the last few days. Would be very happy if I could even get into the system to let me do it
Don't waste tour time on that impossible online system. Everybody can do his/her report by regular mail. It saves time and travel. Just do not forget the prepaid envelope. You will have you new "RECEIPT OF NOTIFICATION" about 10 days later in the mail.

How do the Insurance companies cope with the number of claims for vehicles, personal injury and fatalities. Surely, this must affect premiums.
Yes, in my case the insurance company raised the premium from 14.000 to 17.000 THB, though I expected a no-claims bonus. T.I.T.

The death toll of accidents is much greater than the death toll of Covid-19. I hope the government realize this.
Forget it, they are interested only in their bank slips from Singapore.

A walk of 500 meters in Hat Yai from the Bankgkok Bank to the ICBC saved me 6400THB.

When those beer bar opens, I wonder what they are going to sell? Bottled beer, which has been sitting at roughly 30 degrees centigrade for months, beer which is totally bitter and stale? Beer is not properly stored, and that is a rule in Thailand. Therefore I will wait some time until the old p*ss has been sold. Besides I will keep on checking the filling dates, before I order a beer, or buy at the 7/11 or a supermarket. Lately I saw some boxes of Singha at Big-C with a filling date 19.09.2019! Cheers!

What interest rate is anyone getting with their fixed account please and with what bank ?
BKK Bank 1.5%, but I do not know the rate, when they renew the term, which will happen this month, may be less. I also pay 15% of the earned interest in Government taxes.

The most stolen bikes are the Honda PCX and the Honda Wave. Buy yourself i.e. a 10 year old Yamaha Nano Spark, fix the brakes, chain and sprockets, tires and suspension. Then you have a safe, non costly bike, which runs like hell, and will not get stolen.

Bavaria did it in the correct order: first the Biergarten, then the schools. This order prevents that teachers come home thirsty after work.

Though I have a 100Mbps+ fiber connection in HDY. I could not even load the page (using google Chrome, Firefox and Opera) and always experienced a timeout. I did my report by mail and received the new passport attachment within 10 days. In the future I will keep on doing the report by mail.

is this a more viable option?
AFAIK there is a 37% import duty on spare parts. But better check with the customs directly.
