  1. Ah, OK, that explains the HOBs issue.

That bottle shop near Tescos has a happening scene going at 6pm. Just walked past, not a spare table outside, mix of Thais and farangs. Got myself a nice german weissbeer to go with the take away.

Perhaps a decent place to buy imports, as long as it's not in the cooler with the refrigerant leak, but I couldn't understand why many go there to do Changs and Leos, when the "promo places" like Dayli and Blah Blah have better prices, some "pretties," working and patronizing, and they actually have restrooms. Somebody told me why, but I don't want to spread rumors....it is very convenient to H4.

Wow, I hadn't thought about the rest room issue. Some of these guys were on their third or fourth large beer. How they resist breaking the seal is beyond me!

  3. We ate there on Saturday. Partner went the burger with the blue cheese (which turned out to be blue cheese dressing). She had heartburn that night, and a dodgy stomach since.

The staff appeared in a bit of a panic, and it took ages for the meals to come. We were going to leave after waiting over 40 minutes for the food. Partner wishes she had!

Shame as we've enjoyed meals at Duke's on other occasions, but we definitely won't be heading back for a while.

  4. Hi people

Looking for a few recommendations for places that serve interesting beers (ie not the usual run of the mill lagers) in the Nimman area.

I've walked past the Beer Lab, and have seen reports of Beer Republic down Soi 11 (which doesn't look too flash from the googlemap streetview). Is House of Beers still here? (Tripadvisor thinks it's closed). What about the rooftop of Maya? What's up there, and when do they open?

  5. A few years ago I had a decent meal in a nice Thai garden restaurant that was at the back of Chang Klan Plaza, just south of the Shangri-La hotel. I can't remember what it was called, and can't see it on Googlemaps.

Can anyone recall what it was called and tell me whether its still there?

  6. Hi people

Can anyone advise if there is still a Citibank branch or ATM in Chiang Mai? I recall using one at the Airport Mall a few years back, but I can't see any indication on the Citibank Thailand website that it's still there.

    Many thanks

  7. Thanks Baywatch. Anything after 19 July? The site I linked to had later games, but there seems to be some confusion as to whether that's accurate.

Yes sure. This is 1st Leg games schedule. Then will be 2nd Leg. You will find it on the same website.

I can't find a link to the 2nd leg on that website. Can someone post a link?

  8. Hi guys

Trying to find the CM FC fixture list to see if I can catch a game while I'm back in town (28 July to 9 August).

The only site I can find in English suggests there's a home game against BBCU (?) on 2 August, but says that the game kicks off at 10pm! Can that be right? I'll need a sleep in the afternoon!

  9. Hi people

We're heading back to Chiang Mai for a 12 night stay in July (we want to stay around the Nimman area). A couple of the accommodation options are in the Hillside 2 condo. Location is good but we remember that its very close to the late night beer and music place (Tawan Daeng?). Can anyone advise if the noise has been a problem for residents?
