Regulation signed to make cannabis flowers a controlled herb in Thailand
connda replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Let's see. It's legal to grow the plant but it's illegal to have a plant with flowers. So, if you are growing plants for 'personal use' then what should you do if your plants decides to flower? So, once signed into the Royal Gazette, I'm assuming those 3000 prisoners released on possession charges will be tossed back into jail. Then they better start building more jails because the commoners can now grow the plant, but should the plant flower they can then be thrown into prison. Of course it's not too late to simple add another sentence to the bill that makes it illegal for the common public to grow that plant in the first place. Flip-Flop. Right back to square one. -
Public Urged to Get Booster Shots Against Covid-19
connda replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
If these were sterilizing vaccines that imparted full immunity, I'd have been in line as soon as possible. But they are not. Taking a booster every four months that does not impart immunity? That's just nuts. And most people I know including high profile elites like Fauci take all the shots and still come down with Covid anyway. All my extended family have had multiple shots and all have had Covid. So the answer is to get more shots. Nah. That's Albert Enstein's definition of insanity: Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. -
Public Urged to Get Booster Shots Against Covid-19

One shot every three months? What's the problem with that! -
I've said the masks are here to stay specifically due to 'social measures', by which I mean that masking will explicitness denote status. Commoners will be expected to wear masks forever. It will be a clear sign that one is from the commoner class. Elites will make exemptions for themselves. And it will not be a clear exemption. Just when elites get together, elites will not need to wear masks but the commoners serving them will need to be fully masked. Just watch. Gala for elites: Elites maskless; servant class and commoner onlookers masked. Festivals for the commoners: Everyone masked; special elite zones maskless. Anutin has clearly stated that masking is about social conditioning as opposed to public safety. I don't believe that was a slip of the tongue. It will be a 2022 revision of the Thai Cultural Mandates. Elite - Unmasked Commoners - Masked

Opinion: Stop spreading misinformation about marijuana, educate the public
connda replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Now we'll be deluged with posts about the potential negative effects of marijuana by every member who has never tried it or have only tried in once with mix results. For those who are simply doing a copy and paste from an anti-cannabis Internet resource, please be kind enough to attribute your information. Those of us who have been around this culture for fifty or sixty years actually understand the effects. So when I hear that there has been a "marijuana overdose leading to death" the first thought I had was "there's a first" and my second thought was, "I wonder when they'll release a Thai version of Reefer Madness." Good to see they actually performed an autopsy. Then we start hearing that Thais are being admitted to hospitals for ingesting leaves that have no psychotropic active substance. At best you'll get a little fibre in your diet. Can someone be allergic? I imagine so, but without taking a test by a doctor who specializes in allergies, claiming you're "allergic to cannabis leaves" after eating a cannabis leaf in some soup is unproven supposition. Maybe the soup had not been stored well and they had a reaction to bacteria? I'm sure there will be plenty of misinformation and hyperbole over the next few months to keep the us all entertained.- 79 replies

Bangkok set to be smoke free!....Yes, that's CIGARETTE smoke

Need to build more jails. -
I've known a lot of stoners since the 1960 and I can't say I have ever encountered a 'marijuana overdose'. Now THC induced paranoia. That can be uncomfortable. Not life-threatening. And as far as heart attacks. People have heart attacks all the time. You can have a heart attack when you're drunk.. Anyway, watch for the horror stories now as Thai elites attempt to put the genie back in the bottle.

Truthfully. Just ignore the moron exhibitionists. You're not going to come across videos of people having sex unless you frequent websites that publish that sort of content. Otherwise one starts to wonder what "the offended" people are doing cruising OnlyFans or other voyeur sites in the first place. Food for thought. ????

What books are you reading this year. This also includes books you may be listening to like Kindle Audibles. I'll often watch a movie or TV show and then go back to read the books that those shows were based on. If you read more than one book at a time, that's Ok too. I often read fiction and non-fiction at the same time.

I've been looking at Mini Computers on places like Lazada. I need a bare bones system (with built in ethernet/wireless and a mid-range 8th or 10th Gen Intel processor, normal I/O devices for USB and graphics connections HDMI or DVI) that I can add 16 to 32 GB RAM and a 1 TB SSD Drive. I neither want or need hi-end graphics. Normal graphic is all I need. I'll be using it running some form of Ubuntu as the base OS and Virtual Box with two or three VMs (no more than one VM working in tandem with the Linux OS at a time. It gives me a VM testing platform. I've been away from IT for a loooong time and the mini computers are new to me, but the form factor is something I like. Was was thinking about building a destop from scratch before I knew this new Mini Computers existed. Anyone have recommendations for configurations.

Can you still renew a US Passport at the US Embassy in Chiang Mai in person? It would be my peference to renew in person. Too many things can go wrong renewing by mail. And, any idea when you can renew before your expiration date. My passport renewal and visa extension happen in the same month. I don't know if that will cause problems are not. Thanks!

I need to make an international call to the United States. My carrier is True. To get a call out you need to use a code like 004 or 009 but I can remember which (its been awhile). You used the carrier's international code to go international plus the country code (US =1) plus the number. Does anyone know True's international code to call outbound?

Where's the cheapest Animal Clinic to get a female cat spayed? The last place I went cost me over 5000 baht, and my cat died the evening we got her back from the vet. I was not a happy camper for the results I got for what I considered to be a lot of money. So, money doesn't equate to quality care. So which vet will do this for the cheapest price? I can get this done for less than 1500 baht in the US ($45).
