  1. Don't know about that model. The only people I know that supply petcrates with airline approved features are ShamuShamu who have store in Sathom Bangkok and one in Phuket. They supply the Petmate brand. Bangkok store tel:022129172 Phuket Tel:076375743. Check out the website www.shamushamu.com. There is also a mag 'Shamu' 55 baht available at most bookstores with an extensive list of pet products.

Thanks a lot :) I ll look into it :)

  2. so can i get photoshop, dreamweaver and adobe soundbooth and some type of video editing software for the mac these are all i really need. i dont really play games.

i also need to be able to access paypal and ebay so are their compatible browsers like firefox and explorer that can be used on the mac?

asking because ive heard that paypal and some merchant gateways wont work on macs, any REAL experience on this?

Yep all the adobe suite is available on mac ( I think they were long time ago ported from mac to windows by adobe). No problem to access paypal or ebay you can also download firefox / opera / chrome for macosx if you don't like safari (Apple's browser available on osx). If I were you I d go to an istudio shop and ask for a tour of macosx. They ll probably answer more directly to your question as they pop out.

For video editing, you can use iMovies, last version is installed and free with every mac :

  3. Hi from what I am reading you can't take a 3 month old to europe.

    .....

IT IS 100% EXCEPT IF YOU ARE SHIPPING THAT SAID ANIMAL THERE IS A 90 DAY WAITING PERIOD AFTER THE BLOOD HAS BEEN TESTED.. I AM NOT SURE ABOUT IF YOU ARE ON THE SAME PLANE.. I THINK YOU WILL HAVE TO WAIT 90 MORE DAYS FOR SURE.. IT IS BECAUSE IF ANY SAID ANIMAL HAS RABIES IT WILL SHOW UP DURING THOSE 90 DAYS.

THAT IS WHAT I WAS TOLD. I HAVE DONE THIS ABOUT 10 TIMES OVER THE PAST FEW YEARS AND IT HAS NOT CHANGED.

NOW, IF YOU HAVE A WAY TO FLY TO THE USA FIRST.. THEN GO GET A LOCAL VET TO GIVE YOU A NEW HEALTH CERTIFICATE.. YOU JUST FLY IN WITHOUT ANY WAITING AS YOU TELL THEM THE DOG CAME FROM AMERICA.. NO WAIT THAT WAY.. IT IS A "BACKDOOR" WAY TO DO IT AND YOU CAN DO IT AS EARLY AS 8 WEEKS.. NO WAITING..BUT NO MENTION OF THE WORD THAILAND SHOULD BE SAID... YOU JUST NEED TO CHECK OUT THE RULES FROM THE USA...

I have been told by someone that 72h prior flying you need to visit the airport vet to get an export certificate that will be required the day you take off.

You are right about the 90 days i mentioned it, in the point 6. What I tried to say is that :

    - 1st january you vaccine your pet

    - 1st february you send blood sample

    - 15 february you receive the result of blood

    - 15 may you can travel to Europe

    - 15 june your paper is expired you need to make a new one.

The blood sample analysis expire 4 months after you obtained the result or at the expire date of the vaccine, which either is earlier.

By the way which laboratory you are using in europe and how much did it cost you ? How do you pack the serum ? :/

    Thanks.

  4. Hi from what I am reading you can't take a 3 month old to europe.

Website explaining quickly the procedure :

    http://www.samuidog.org/dogtransport.htm

    European procedure :

    http://ec.europa.eu/food/animal/liveanimal...mm_third_en.htm

To sum up from what i understand right now :

    1) get your dog / cat

    2) microchip him and vaccine him against rabbies

    3) wait 1 month

    4) get a vet take blood from the dog / cat and fill the form the laboratory will send you after sending them an email, send the serum and document by fedex (around 2k bahts) to a laboratory accredited by EU with document and a payment (84 euros from what the closest one tells me).

    5) Get the result by post from laboratory.

    6) Get the vet to sign http://ec.europa.eu/food/animal/liveanimal...o10767r4_en.pdf Wait 3 months before the cat / dog can travel.

    7) You have 1 month before the previous document will expire, and to travel to europe

    8) Buy a cage for your dog/ cat according to IATA regulation

    9) Get your ticket to europe and notify about your pet, notify 48h before taking off that you ll have a dog /cat

    10) Pay the extra cost for your dog / cat + cage (per kg)

I think that s the procedure.

  5. France is part of the EU, so for all these countries the same rules apply:

    micro-chip or tattoo

    up-to-date vaccinations

Rabies authorized labs in France (where you have to send your animal's blood sample to):

After you have send the blood sample to one of those lab's and you've got the result back, your dog still needs to stay another 3 months in Thailand before it can enter France.

Vaccinations should be given not less than 1 month or more than one year to your dog prior to travel.

    Hope this helps. :D

    Thanks for all this information,

Two questions as I have the same issue as the poster :

    1) How can you send blood to france to test it ? Pay for it ? Get the result ?

    2) How/Where do you get the export paper and health certificate from Thailand ?

  6. I sorry to say but many of you are wrong...you are comparing the OLD Mac Book (white plastic) to the Mac Book Pro (aluminum). I am comparing the NEW Mac Book (white plastic) 13.3" to the current Mac Book Pro 13.3 (aluminum) base model. Believe me, the specs are the SAME...except for the price as I mentioned.

And the size, the firewire and the card slot.

Not sure why there is such difference, but the aluminium conduct heat way better than white plastic, also it s pbly more solid and more resistant to a glossy plastic. Thing to notice it s only 200$ difference in the us and not 200$ != 10000 bahts :) In the end if you are thinking to buy a macbook use the education discount from the website.

  7. Hi,

From what I have read some company accept animals in the plane. Is anyone had a previosu experience doing that from thailand to europe ? Also in order to enter france it seems now cat requires a sort of passport + vaccination. How can one do that from here in order to prevent problems once arriving in europe ?

Thanks for your help I have 3 cats and have noone to take care of them in case I have to go back.

  8. What is Neils Colov's role in the Tourist Police? He seems to be involved in everything in Pattaya!

He is the project leader of the foreign police volunteers who are based at Pattaya Police Station, nothing to do with the Tourist Police.

By the way, I am having a great laugh reading some of these posts on here. It really is unbelievable what some people say. So many experts on here....and quite a few jealous people as well, but I understand that.

I probably shouldn't bite but I will say this one thing. I will put it in capital letters so some of you can understand it. Maybe some of you should write this down and keep it for future reference so you don't keep REPEATING yourselves. Here we go......ready.....by the way I can only speak for the Pattaya Tourist Police, other stations may do things differently.

FOREIGN TOURIST POLICE ASSISTANTS IN PATTAYA ASSIST THE TOURIST POLICE IN THEIR DUTIES. WE WORK UNDER DIRECT INSTRUCTION OF THE TOURIST POLICE AND IF REQUESTED WE CAN ASSIST THEM IN ANY MATTER AS LONG AS WE REMAIN WITHIN THE CONFINES OF THAI LAW.

IT IS REALLY THAT SIMPLE........DIGEST WHAT I JUST SAID AND REMEMBER IT. DON'T QUESTION ME ON IT BECAUSE I WILL NOT ANSWER.

I apologise for my rudeness here and I hope it does not offend the sensible TV posters here.

I understand what you are saying and I m glad you made such clarification. Though for someone who watch the video it doesnt seems to be really the case, It s probably the documentary that is biasing most of the post here. If you look at them you ll notice foreigner are in the center of every action and the thai are sometimes appearing but for a few seconds only. I think maybe that s what is biasing the posts in my opinion. Anyway thanks for your work and your time I think it could be interesting to have a walk / talk with you in pattaya if i was living there :)

  9. Wikipedia says :

"A person who makes a citizen's arrest could risk exposing him or herself to possible lawsuits or criminal charges (such as charges of impersonating police, false imprisonment, kidnapping, or wrongful arrest) if the wrong person is apprehended or a suspect's civil rights are violated."

So let's say the Thai police foreigner detain a person and it turns out that person has done nothing wrong. What happens then ? Worse the person is detained with handcuff and has a heart attack and has done nothing wrong ? What if the person dies ? In my opinion the detention/hand cuff are borderline of the police role and shouldnt be done by them.

What i fail to understand in the end is that they are sometimes alone without a thai policeman and ends up doing the thai police job until the thai police comes ? That s the only reason I see why they would have to handcuff anyone :/

  10. I watched the first 3 parts of this series. While I m glad there is volunteer ppl who spend time to help ppl, I was a bit surprised that they are able to search ppl, handcuf ppl and arrest ppl if needed. I think their should be one volunteer for 3-4 thai policemen. And the thai policemen should be the one proceeding with the arrestation / search if needed. From what I see in the video it doesnt seem to be the case. Maybe I have misunderstood the video but it's very surprising to me that volunteer can do that. Though I think the uniform is needed provided they are with thai policemen because it would definitively improve their security.

What you think about it ?

  11. I guess everyone had it ? One thai guy say "Hello", and then follow up with one sentence he remembers from his high school time ? So far i have had :

    - fuc_k you ( Was a kid on a motorcycle ... so it was easy to say it ?)

    - See you again tomorrow ??

    - I cant speak strawberry (That was actually funny well it made me smile)

This are the one that marked my memory ? How do you usually reply / react to those "Hellos" ? I usually smile and keep walking or say "Hello" back and keep walking ?

What do you do ? What is the best / funniest sentence you had following the Hello ? :)
