How do you justify living in Thailand, away from your family?
Bliss and cheaper.

It was NOT his fault .His son had something to do with it ,and it was the middle bike that made contact .
" After putting the side-stand down my son's bike went and toppled over into his friends bike parked to his right, this in turn toppled over into another lads bike."
Reading above Me's don't think so he started it an insurance assessor maybe would say Kwacka claims from middle bike, middle bike claims from his son, dunno maybe @stevenl could chip in he knows about insurance stuff.

I think some criteria for what is a cool bike would include:
Some sort of historical or racing pedigree Exclusiveness
Some sort of customization that is in keeping with its type.
Attributes the 500x lacks.
Up to 15 pages not done yet.
There's too many bikes that have been cool over the years, don't know if there's an original in Thailand but another one for me is the RC30.
One the comments l remember was :-
" There's simply nothing on it that's doesn't need to be there."
Off topic the coolest bike for me was RC211V5 .
Customizing a bike is making individual, cool would be in the eye of the beholder.
500X good affordable all rounder bike for Thailand IMO.

244kg according to this review.

As someone rightly said not made in Thailand you can only buy em, l'd liked em and a few on here don't, fair enough.
Here's 2017 Adventure spec 229 kg dry and with 30 kilos of fuel and 4 kilos of oil & water etc. 263 kg. £13, 000 in UK don't know how much here but l'd bet not 572,000 baht.

Unfortunately it's not so simple because the energy density varies among these fuels, i.e., the kilos per litre is not the same.
From my experience using my Mrs Yaris which can use up to E20 the difference in kilos still makes a saving although l concede not great but a saving neither the less.
If engine spec is designed to take a fuel which is cheaper use it if garages locally stock it.

Cheapest means lowest cost per kilometre are relevant, not cost per litre.
Personally, I also look at the ecological issues.l'd use the cheapest and let the car technology take care of ecological issues.

And you would also say the same for (manual) gearboxes? Don't use synth?
(have looked for synt gear oil in BKK (Worachak area) can't find normal syn gear oil, half syn is available.)
(well, can find fully synt gear oil but that is special oil for track racing applications, way more expensive than costly)

I'm OK with it too, lets put them in the good old US of A in Trump Tower..

The US cannot, at this point and time, dictate anything in Iraq. Anything it does will have to take into account the positions of Iran, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Russia and perhaps, even the Iraqi people themselves.
Hear you but American govs don't want anyone interfering with arms sales and all you mention will do as their told, obviously not publicly.

If want 1st class insurance pay for it, was about 1year ago quoted 14,000 on a Versys 650.

"Semi-synthetics" are oils which are a blend of petroleum oil and no more than 30% synthetic oil. If the manufacturer adds no more than 30% synthetic oil and does not change the additive package, they do not have to recertify the oil. These days, since everyone has agreed that Group III base oils are "synthetic," I'm not sure "semi-synthetic" means anything at all. The manufacturers love this stuff: it costs about 15% more to make the oil, and they get to charge about double. I don't recommend semi-synthetics. Save your money and take your kids to McDonalds.
Sorry semi-syns are not expensive and l wouldn't recommend McDonald's either.

Semi-synthetic is a waste of money. It is neither fish nor fowl!
OK as usually with people on here, disagree with 30 years of experience in servicing motorbikes.

I don't think ladies that post feel threatened or intimidated here by some men, most of em understand cause they have children.

Motorbikes only ever run them with fully synthetic always have
Respect your preference just saying I didn't have syn oils for my motorbikes years ago and they were OK l don't bother with syn oil now, semi-syn perfectly OK for motorbikes/ scoots/ moped in Thailand.

right,
and using non-sythetic oil in LoS, no problem with high oil temperatures?
You can use any oil in Thailand which has the correct viscosity for the engine design e.g. 10w30 , to 20w50 , etc etc.
Because of the Thai heat change it more often, l use semi- syn they are at reasonable prices now.
The sales teams of companies are clever at brainwashing.
One report says however, synthetic motor oil can cost two to four times as much as regular oil, true, maybe it will come down sometime.
So unless your owner's manual specifies synthetic, you don’t need it. bollow.
But Consumer Reports’ chief mechanic says there are some situations where synthetic oil’s resistance to breakdown can help prolong the life of an engine. true so does semi-syn.
If you make lots of short trips, standard motor oil may never get warm enough to burn off moisture and impurities. true but it's hot here so just change more.
If you live in a region with very hot summers synthetic oil won’t break down as quickly. true.
While synthetic generally holds up better and can serve for more miles, it is important to not extend oil changes beyond the time interval recommended by the manufacturer—typically six months or a year. same with semi-syn.

You can only buy parts from the Kawasaki main dealer.
Perhaps you are suggesting a filler bodge job on a fuel tank/fairings plus respray? Sticking fairings back together with glue?
No thanks.
Just saying renewable repairs to plastics and tanks are possible to a high standard.
If OP ain't appy and thinks there taking the mick, check with Kwacka dealer to confirm price.
