  1. I would stay away from any 'exotic' investment unless its introduced to you be a trusted friend or family member. If this was real, they wouldn't need to set up a stall in a mall.

You can have alook at this company, they have already started harvesting trees and can show you actual returns to investers who invested 6 years ago.

    Touchwood Asia Co., Ltd.22nd floor Vanissa Building, 29 Soi Chit Lom, Lumpini, Patumwan, Bangkok 10330. ThailandTel: +66 2 655 0055 Ext. 232Fax: +66 2 251 9195Email: [email protected]Website: www.touchwood.com

And these 'actual' returns are audited by which company .................. ?

  2. Meanwhile, Oriental Thai Airlines Chief Executive Officer Manasnan Tantiprasongchai said 9-10 parked aircraft are under water at Don Mueang Airport. Most are MD aircraft and all are waiting to be sold.

How convenient. The MD aircraft are fuel guzzlers that no one really wants. if there was a market, American Airlines, SAS, Alitalia, and Delta would have gotten rid of these inefficient, noisy obsolete junkers years ago. Even the flying junkyards in Africa don't want them.

Correct - cannot sell - wonder if they are covered by insurance :whistling:

  3. I use TomTom Thailand (offline navigation) often on my Iphone, works fine. I also have 2 Garmin units and there is no big difference between. The TomTom App works great,on the Ipad it even supports dual view (junction view only in BKK and map) since the last update.

Garmin units bought outside of Thailand doesn't support junction view at all, which is why I prefer the Iphone in Bangkok.

However GPS reception and lock on is better and faster on the newer Garmin units compared to the Iphone.

Hi thanks for that but when I go to itunes I get this page which seems Tom Tom has stopped (end of life ?) HERE

  4. The website says 50% trade-in, NOT B50?!

50% trade in from books you have bought from them yes.

The B50 price applies to all books brought in from elsewhere (i.e not previously purchased at Star Books).

That's standard with most s/hand book shops

  5. I have heard that this area is targeted as a new "Night Market" - the stall holders to take down their tables at midnight.

So will be a thriving investment for any Thai stall holder and Ex-pat bar owner.

    I heard that too.

Like I said there is a mix.

Also in the area, a newish Italian restaurant that is quite decent, fresh pastas/pizzas/dinner plates (across from the Bali place) and just today noticed a new American food place called Bourbon Street (I doubt related to the famous Bangkok place) opening in the old Seafood Emporium location. It is quite clear to me this entire area is going to boom. This being greater Pattaya, of course it includes beer bars.

As others have mentioned there is a lower priced Indian place in the beer bar area and some old favorites like the Mr. Moo joint. Around the main market there are a lot more Thai style stalls opening. It seems like something new every week now.

One thing I am really liking so far is the really good mix and healthy balance of typical Thai food market places and expat/tourist attractions. Maybe you can say that about a lot of areas in town, but I am feeling something new and special beginning to happen in that area.

Hi Jingthing, can you give me a better idea where this area is please as we will be coming for our usual months holiday in november and quite like going down to Jomten for a change, although we can find our way round pretty good its difficult sometimes to know what roads and area's are called :jap:

Suggest you read the title of the post - perfect description

  6. Try to buy a 15 inch laptop....for a 1 time user a 10 inch screen would be complicated for here to use, as she doesn't understand nothing windows xp or windows 7 and other things that comes with using a Pc.

Best starter software would be windows xp....sample...if she understand everything in a while....on windows 7...other software like windows xp would be a whole new experience again.

Win XP - I read about that once in the history books :whistling:
