  1. Aerobics is also practiced by Big C on Sukhumvit approx 5pm every day. But Tai Chi is a lot more than aerobics and is practiced a lot slower and methodically.

Correct - which is why an old man like me needs something like this !

    Many thanks for the answers

  2. The bottom line is if you rent a property in Thailand then you are liable for any damage that happens e.g. rain comes through the roof and destroys the furniture, a fire etc etc. This is more so in a condo where you are liable for damage to (say) the unit below if your pipe has a leak,

Insurance for property is not expensive but to go without may be extremely expensive !

For all you insurance needs use Thai Visa Brokers and ask for an on-line quote HERE

so a tenant can insure the building he rents ? i was always under the impresion this could not be done as it belongs to someone else.

Yes he can - and probably the most sensible way to go - understand what trogers is trying to say but in practice forget it, we are in Thailand

  3. I also recommend a double wall. Ever own a thermos bottle? Even good ice chests are all double walled.

Quite right. Although in case of a thermos bottle a Vacuum is pulled between the inner & outer vessel (normally made of glass).

Double wall wth at least 15mm cavity, no need for foam. Trust me, I was a builder in U.K for 17 years. Done the same out here and house is cool in summer, warm in winter.

Did you 'seal' the wall at the top ?

  4. There is no such thing as Honda insurance - Honda dealers supply insurance from any insurance company who gives them the biggest commission - and that can vary from year to year. Ask your friend(?) for a copy of the present insurance and it will have the name of the insurance company on it - go to them to renew if you want

  5. OP, what is the relevance of your post if you don't state the TIME you had such an easy exit?

For example, I just did 22 minutes hotel, check-in, immigration to boarding gate.... but that was in Bodø.

As I said, I had just come though immigration so, by the time I had gone through security and walked down to Burger King, I suppose about 30 mins making it around 13.00 ?

  6. I do not know of a direct bus service (other posters will tell you if there is one) from Pattaya.

I have used the regular service from the main bus station in Pattaya to Mor Chit bus station. From there it is a short taxi ride to the Airport.

Thanks for that - good idea unless anyone knows of a different way ?

    Cheers

  7. I there any secure parking on the Thai side near the bridge where one can leave a vehicle for a few days ?

Parking spot whit security behinde the 7/11 on the bridge.

    Thank you

  8. As mentioned, the compulsory insurance sticker is no longer supplied nor needed for a few years now. The only sticker you may get from the insurance company would be their contact information and also not required to put on the windscreen.

Is this not what your Thai Visa Insurance said earlier

  9. Water does not flow uphill so if you install a tank up on the roof you need to spend money on electricity to pump the water. The laws of physics which other Thai Visa Forum members know way better than me dictate what PSI you will achieve depending on how high your tank is installed. But in Isaan you might consider going to an INDEPENDENT pump / tank / tool shop that design, sell, install and service village water supplies and larger municipal and school buildings. These Independent shops are often, if not always less money than any chain modern trade store for the exact same products. Just as important, often owned by Chinese-Thai who do understand, read, write and speak English. Even in Buriram Province a Thai technician, not some fancy pants Bangkok educated grad, but a Buriram College educated staff person, came to our home 45 minutes from Buriram and roughly drew out a water plan. Then we sat down with our builder and the "pump shop" owner to see the options. They quickly made me realize why the water tanks on the flat roof area we constructed over a high carport was not the best solution. The "water pressure tank" that has a bladder of sorts and in our case, holds 500 liters of water, is what achieves excellent water pressure even on the 2nd floor without the waster pump being activated very often.

I feel we save significantly on the electric bill, we have less noise, certainly less wear and tear on the Hitachi Inverter water pump, due to spending less than 4,000 baht on a pressure tank. Steel seems to work for us, but if you had well water you might consider a stainless steel pressure tank. I sure do not want workers going up onto our roof for any unnecessary reason as they can harm the roof tiles and cause leaks. I had enough roof leaks without the "help" of water tank workers. A local independent pump shop owner who gives you his mobile phone number is more likely to send staff out to adjust your water supply / pumps at no cost for a period and not give you the chain store run around and/or excessive fees for customer service.

We have proper PSI so that 3 point electric Hot water heaters work in 2nd floor bathrooms, not to mention personal sprayers.

This sounds very interesting : "water pressure tank" that has a bladder of sorts and in our case, holds 500 liters of water This sounds interesting - can you give more details as I have not seen one please ?

  10. I finally got it on Monday. I did not go through a broker, but applied directly to AXA, maybe that one of the reason for the delay.

    No, that would not be the cause of the delay. It is most likely attributable to one of the following reasons;

    1. Verification of the information provided in the application.

    2. Payment clearing.

If you answered yes to any of the health related questions, then depending upon the weighting given to the question, there is a strong likelihood that the underwriter would contact the health care facility or provider you gave in the details section. If the answers to the questions are not provided in a timely manner from the third party, it will delay the approval of the application for coverage. Also, the names of applicants are supposedly verified to prevent fraud. If you cannot be verified, then this can also cause a delay.

If you are concerned, use the email contact facility and make the inquiry. AXA Thailand is subject to the same client service standards as AXA elsewhere and you will get a response.

Sorry but 'no' : 1 - the verification was done and dusted 4 weeks ago (which is why he had to sign the document to agree) and 2 - payment clearing does not take 4 week

    Use a Broker !!

And you know that the insurer verified the information and received a response because??????

I know that it took almost 2 months for my insurer to obtain an answer from an attending physician on one inquiry, so I'd be delighted to know how you were able to verify that the medical facilities responded quickly. Did you acces the OP's file at AXA?

Quite simple : the insurer had already verified the information as quote " I have signed the exemption document and paid the yearly premium 4 weeks ago." The insurer would not have sent out the proposal to be signed if the information had not been verified.
