That's a very expensive "walk" - just saying ........

Stop moaning and shop around - Private Hospitals are businesses like any other, would you walk in and buy a car without checking the price first ?
If for any reason you do not have insurance then you can use the Government hospitals at a very low cost

I think there is a serious problem communicating with the state pensions people. I prefer letters. Last year I had reason to send a letter. You never know whether it has arrived. I asked their twitter account if they would acknowledge receipt of the letter, they refused. In the letter I asked if they would email a receipt notice, no acknowledgement. In the end I phoned. The lady was extremely helpful and efficient, and in our conversation she mentioned the letter was in a queue - by this time at least 3 months. Unfortunately the phone connection was lost, and I couldn't phone back because it was a menu system and I wouldn't get the person I had spoken to.And of course I was paying for the phone call!!
Online messaging would be useful, is that in the plan?
Did you phone the 'International' number ? I found them to be very helpful and they will call you back if you wish

The best sarcastic post so far today, well done

Agree, these checkpoints are dangerous, why not use Radar Guns to check the speed ?
Hit a few more cops then maybe they'll stop using them

If you like your black coffee on the strongish side, I recommend Starbucks Maun Jai blend. As far as I know Thailand is the only place you can get it as it is made here but not exported. Even though you have a grinder, let the barrista do it for drip machines (specify basket or cone filter). They also give you a loyalty card. After you buy 4 you can get a free one. It is pricier than supermarket brands, but the free one makes up for it a bit. I am not especially a fan of Starbucks but for a black full bodied brew, try Maun Jai.
Personally I prefer a smooth non 'bitter' coffee and always buy the Starbucks Pikes Place beans - I use through an AeroPress for 2 mins

I have seen them drag people off a speeding bike, regardless of the potential injury it can cause. And for what? Minor traffic offences. I fully agree the boy should have been wearing a helmet, but to chase a kid causing an accident that kills the lad over a bloody helmet is wrong. If he had been a wanted murderer, or some other serious offence it would be acceptable, but for this they are out or order in my book.
Nonsense, the Police (for once) were doing their job, totally down to the parents for not educating their kid
