My gf is careful with antibiotics now and makes sure she completes a course when needed. But she said that in the past she would stop taking antibiotics when her symptoms went away. This is how superbugs start. She had more recently begun to understand that one must finish their prescribed course of antibiotics, but she thought that the result of not finishing them would be that she (alone) would become more susceptible to bacterial infection. I gave her a mini-course on how evolution works, and explained that she was just potentially harming herself but also family, friends, and the wider population. The Thai public needs to be educated on this stuff... [and I didn't even get into the differences between bacteria and viruses]
is there a Website or YouTube video in Thai that explains this ?
there are a few people around me I would like to "educate"
thanks

Even in Europe doctors are prescribing antibiotics without cultivating the bacteria, to check what kind of antibiotic is needed. Once you've started the use of an antibiotic, and it doesn't work, the doctors are "blindfolded" in their attempt trying to find the right product. Insist on having the bacteria cultivated and tested against different antibiotics before you start a treatment. It might save your life.
Has anyone tried this in thailand ?
and how long does it take to cultivate the bacteria ?
People want "instant" help , and i doubt most want to wait for the results !
But most things like colds and flu go away after a few days with no drugs :)

If you want to go walking around , there are a few streets in BKK Chinatown that have all kinds of machines for cooking , grinding , cutting, etc
If they do not have one they could make one for you :)
if you need better directions send me a PM and I will look it up....

will it be local pricing or tourist pricing ?
and how many trips a day ?
I just do not see that many people caring , it needs at least motorbikes shipped for an extra fee ,
When I took the car ferry from Dover to Belguim I would stay below deck and sleep in my Van ,

you might look if any of the front wheel drive vans have a straight axle in the back you can use ,
better than a rear wheel drive axle ,
also in Germany its the law that trailers have hand brakes so they do not roll away when parked ,
I always thought that was a good idea and could be rigged up with the handbrake cables .....

And the number of people living "too long" will continue , when all these numbers were calculated 20-30 years ago you were to work to your 60s and die in your 70s ,
those numbers do not work anymore with so many living till their 80s and 90s.....
And add the "Arms race" where every Hospital has to have the newest machines , when another hospital 2 miles away already has one......
Trump care will have as many problems as Obama care , unless the Hospital costs go down which is unlikely !

an old fuel filter may be too clogged to allow the fuel you need for higher speeds ,
same as a fuel pump not pumping out enough volume to keep up with the revs......
I have seen this many times.......

I have an Canon SD900 10 MP camera....
I would like to make up something to take pictures for ebay ,
items would be 3 inches to 8 inches long ,
I guess the main thing is lighting and how to get details as the flash just blows out the the contrast
I normally just put them on a table outside , but the lighting changes or is spotty because the table is under a tree ,
if I put the table out in the sun it is to bright....
any simple , cheap ideas ?
thanks for your help

Look at the places this guy does on a C90 Honda

I think there are MP3 files of barking dogs if you want to make something yourself ,
youtube has a 12 hour barking video....
But this only helps if the bad guys are "traveling" thru your area , if they are local they know you do not have a dog ,
when we were in Hawaii they had guard "geese" that would make a lot of noise and "bite" intruders ,
Is there an easy way to set up a camera "flash" so they know a picture has been taken ?

before turning in the competitors make sure you are squeeky clean , because once you open that door who knows what can happen ,
and are no Thais also doing this business ? They may want to get you out ?????
You have seen all the same stores near each other all over Thailand ,
how long did you think it would be until you were copied....
And "if" you get rid of the competitors do you really think your customers are going to be happy paying the old higher prices ?
Lots of things to think about before you do anything !

How much is a "real" original 2 stroke Vespa these days in Thailand ?
I see a lot of them used to transport stuff around BKK and a few fixed up to be "Pretty"
Were most of these originally from Italy or India ?
And I know "may lightning stick you" but has anyone made a kit to make an original Vespa battery powered ?

I assume the dogs are pretty big , do they trigger the motion sensors on the cameras and give false warnings ?
what about trees blowing , birds that get too close etc ?
When I set up a "Game camera" in my back yard I got many false readings , most were the wind and clowds changing the background

maybe something that takes DNA samples :) like some rusty nails !
Put a few cameras out that they can see , and hid the good ones !
But really there is not much you can do yourself if the cameras send pictures to your phone and you are away ,
unless you are on good terms with the local cops , but the thieves probably have a look out and will be long gone when the cops get there.....
One thing is to make it hard to get anything out of the house , if they need to go out the same window they went in , it this will slow them down ,
If they can go thru the front or rear doors than they can clear you out quick ,
we have double key dead bolt locks with a key on both sides , now they cannot get out !
but also do not lock yourself in if there is a fire.....

Do the factories that make the top brands also make "no name" brands with the same basic designs and materials ?
I doubt a $150 pair of brand name shoes cost much more than $25 at the factory ,

Thanks for your idea on the insoles , most seem to be for many sized feet , do you just guess on where to cut the ends off on the toe end ?
or draw your toes with a marker so you know where to cut ?
just wondering if the insoles move around much in your shoe
I have some Brooks running shoes , they are over $100 retail but I got them at a yard sale cheap ,
they had a nice high arch support and have really helped ,
But I liked the bounce in my sketchers except they were hard on my ankles where they rubbed , ,
The sketchers took some getting used too , but not enough arch support so that might be the first ones i try the insole supports in......

2 areas I know about, but I have no idea what skai leather is,
Wongwian Yai, near the traffic circle , get off BTS and walk the small street towards the traffic circle ,
many shows with leather , leather tools , and stuff to make shoes......
CHINATOWN AREA : Ratchawong Rd but closer to BMA Hospital , Luang Rd on google maps is the corner of BMA Hospital and Ratchawong Rd , all the side streets in that area and the main street.......
If you find the Police station on Ratchawong rd , the corner shop had leather hides etc , this is all around Klong Thom market area
Have fun and post if you find more areas.....
-
can someone point me to a website about how you should pick which of these arch supports are best for you !
there are so many you cannot try them all ,
earlier in the year I had really bad pain , but by chance found some running shoes with a high arch support ,
I used them all today and have no pain , but I would like to have a few more pair of shoes with the same support (since it works for me) but I do not know what areas I need to match with the slip in ones from Amazon etc
Thanks for your ideas

I imagine there's a high chance of snakes on his patio. I'm curious about what it would be about bamboo on a patio that would attract mosquitos considering that they need water to survive in.
rain gets into the bamboo and mosquitos have a new home :)
no idea why you would get more snakes , unless they like to lay in the shade....

If she's copying from a sample shirt or even a picture (from google?), she can get it right.
OK........anyone have an area in BKK that does the same thing ?

....... You can, if you have an ounce of sense, dictate things like the button threads be double looped or you can just take your chances like so many other idiots..........
OK.......and what other things would you ask for ?
I know new shirts sew an extra button so if you lose one you have a matching button to replace ,
but what other things ????
I like that the pattern of the pocket matches the shirt , actually I like 2 pockets
not sure about the collar , button down or not
and square bottom so you do not tuck it in.......
but this seems like more than the local back street seamstress could do........

is there a Maker movment in Thaiand , Or a Techshop where you can go in and rent time on machines ?
These are what gets things happening , not watching Facebook and Cat videos !
and there are 1000s of young Thais that would love to have places like that to go and make things that may turn into the next "big" thing.....
And yes Space X is at the old Northrop Aviation factory.......its good to have a few old engineers around to tell you what they tried and could not get to work........pay it forward......
