Was speaking to the GF on the phone earlier today, we were talking about the rain and "skylight"
Just thought I'd add that one

I would also recommend Wong Deun beach, have stayed there many times now, always had a good time, nice beach with some bars, and good seafood BBQ's on the beach, my favorite bar is The Baywatch Bar which is run by a guy called Robert, good food and drink.
Haven't stayed at Malibu Beach but it always looks nice, have stayed at Wong Deun Villa which has bungalows for approx bt700 with fan and air con a bit more expensive ( that was high season so may be discounted now ) and have also stayed at Tarn Tawan Bungalows which is on the next beach ( about 2-3 min walk from wong Deun ), no air con and very basic but only bt500, very clean and very friendly staff, also in a nice quiet location, they can also arrange a speedboat transfer to or from the island for about bt300 each.
It all depends on your budget really and what level of accomodation you would like.
Don't think much of Hat Sai Kaew

I also cannot see the use for 3 entries as each visa is only valid for a 90 day period.
Just get the double tourist visa.
Just checked the Thai Consulate Website - this is what they say:-
There are various options of Tourist Visa available:-
a) Single Entry
The validity of this visa is 3 months from date of issue and allows a visitor to enter Thailand for a single period of up to 60 days after which they must depart. A further visit will require another visa which can only be obtained outside Thailand.
b.) Double Entry
The validity of this visa is 6 months from date of issue and allows a visitor to enter Thailand for one period of up to 60 days after which time they must leave the country. They can then re-enter for a further stay of 60 days. On expiry of the second stay they must depart and cannot return without a new visa which can only be obtained outside Thailand.
c) Triple Entry
Same principle as for Double Entry except that it allows for up to three visits within a period of 9 months.
d) Quadruple Entry (maximum)
Same principle as for Double Entry except that it allows for up to four visits within a period of 12 months.
Also I would like to point out that on an earlier topic I was advised by Dr Patpong to get the 3 entries

Thanks 12call
The reason I was going to get the 3 entries is that I did not want to rely on the extensions being granted, am i being overly cautious ?
Also, to clarify, if I am staying in BKK for a week when I first arrive, can I apply for the extension then ?
I suppose what I am trying to ask is, can the extension be applied for any time within the 60 day period ?
cheers

Hi all
Later on in the year I plan to come to thailand and stay for up to six months. I will be obtaining a tourist visa with 3 entries from The Royal Thai Consulate in Hull.
My question is, can I apply for the 30 day extension on the first entry as soon as I enter Thailand ?

Get 3 entries of a tourist visa. Apply by mail at the Royal Thai Consulate at Hull
Thanks.... sorry for being a bit thick, but could you explain what getting 3 entries is, does this mean I can stay up to 6 months without leaving Thailand or would I have to leave every 2 months ?

Spee - Thanks for the link
Tutsiwarrior - When I say the Airport to meet me, I mean in Buriram, flying to BKK then flying to Buriram 1 hr after I land.
Really I just want to visit and have a good time, also I don't want to show up the GF in anyway.
Maybe I am spending too much time thinking about this, I'll just get some things, I'm sure the gesture will be appreciated
Cheers all for the advice

PS I will post and let you know how it all went !

dave...offer to pay to have the buffalo slaughtered to feed the masses of family and friends that decend on the wat for the funeral...
totster...you should see your GF before you see her family...an hour's shopping at the local Tesco will get you all that you need...t-shirts, cheap sandals, 50kg sack of rice and a case of the cheapest thai 'whiskey'
GF is already at home....I think they are all going to come and meet me .

Ok...lucky me, I've been invited to visit Mom in the home town, I'm gonna go but I don't want to offend anyone etc...
So any advice, do's and don'ts, or any other words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated

This sounds exactly like a wedding I went to in Hong Kong, maybe it is a commom format for Asian weddings.
