It's just the way it is, but I wonder why it's not for individuals 60+ and why it won't work for those previously infected.

That's not what the article says - it says this vaccine is actually more effective for those that have had a previous infection. As it states:

    Quote

Furthermore, the vaccine was 79.6% effective in those with no evidence of previous dengue infection, and 89.2% effective in those who had previous infection.

And the results of this study don't mean that a person over 60 absolutely can't have this vaccine. The thing is just that since It was only tested on people under 60, that's the only age range they can actually recommend it for. That's not to say it wouldn't be safe and effective for people over 60 - for example, if it works on a 59 year-old, why wouldn't it work on a 61 year-old?

Though all things being equal, it's probably slightly less effective for older people, given that this is virtually always the case with almost all vaccines.

There's also a chance that they will do further studies to gauge its effectiveness in older age groups at a later date.

How would you (or anyone) know whether he had the backing to take the company (Tesla?) private?

They would know simply by following the news. Both a judge and the SEC found that he did not have the backing, and lied when he said that he did. Musk also had to pay a $20 million fine to the SEC over this.

The filing said that the court ruled April 1 that Musk's 2018 tweets were "false and misleading." The court "held that he recklessly made the statements with knowledge as to their falsity," it said.

Judge rules Musk's tweets over taking Tesla private were false, investors say

The SEC’s complaint alleged that, in truth, Musk knew that the potential transaction was uncertain and subject to numerous contingencies. Musk had not discussed specific deal terms, including price, with any potential financing partners, and his statements about the possible transaction lacked an adequate basis in fact.

Again, guys like you crack me up.

If you know, don't you say? You can't say, because you don't know, so you post a link, and you call me ignorant.

Again, please tell me how you're going to get a random sample of UK citizens to poll. It's not possible.

    No links.

What on earth are you on about, "No links"?

Links (to a reliable source) are the standard and accepted method to prove the accuracy of what a person is saying in an online discussion.

In fact, since this is a news/current affairs topic, and @RayCis trying to point out to you the fact that standard methodologies do exist to establish a random sample for an opinion poll, Forum Rules actually state that a link should be posted.

See extract from the rules below:

    Quote

In factual areas such as news forums and current affairs topics member content that is claimed or portrayed as a fact should be supported by a link to a relevant reputable source.

No one has said that , some think that the plane may have been shot down by the Taliban .

A straw mans argument there , mentioning Putins wife

OK, but I also haven't seen anyone suggesting the Taliban shot it down either. One person (see below) suggesting they might shoot the survivors, however.

does anyone know if there were any survivors because if there were the Taliban will shoot them most probably.

Have a look at the Reuters article - four survivors and no suggestion that the Taliban were doing anything to them, other than to "provide assistance to the remaining individuals."

    From the Reuters link above:

"The Taliban-run Afghan aviation ministry said in a statement on X that the plane’s planned route did not include passing through Afghanistan’s air space and that "probably due to technical issues" the plane had diverted from its planned route."

I wonder what "technical" issues would cause a pilot to take a longer route and outfly his fuel range?

As far as I can tell looking at the map, if flying from Gaya, India to Tashkent, Uzbekistan, the shortest route would take you over North-Eastern Afghanistan.

The fact that the planned route did not include flying over Afghan airspace but the plane ended up there, seems to suggest the pilot was actually trying to take a shorter, more direct route.

    OK, if you say so.

I would have thought that this part was very relevant.

"Mr Trump's victory was a broad one as well. He won the young and old, men and women. He also won over the evangelical and hard-right conservative voters he had difficulty winning in 2016."

What would I know, I'm not American.

OK, but when they say his victory was a broad one, I think that has to be put into context. In these caucuses, the 57,000 or so votes Trump got represents a mere 7% (+/-) of eligible Republican voters in Iowa. It also comes to less than 3% of the approximately 2 million eligible voters in the state.

I'm not sure that getting only 7% of your party's voters and less than 3% of the state's total voters to express support for you, really qualifies as a broad victory.

People in the UK will be shocked that a mother would kill her own 7 year old child. Whilst in the land of smiles...

They absolutely would not. The number of such cases in the UK has been rising noticeably in recent years.

The aforementioned Alfie Phillips is just one example among many.

As the article below states, there were already an average of 3 per month in 2021 and other reports show the numbers continuing to rise.

I wasn't expecting anyone  to" fawn" over anybody. But if a President or any other politician  has made a positive difference, one would expect his supporters and cronies to at least mention it from time to time in order to garner more support.

As others have mentioned, this is a thread about Trump. However, there have been plenty of posts listing (and lauding) Biden's positive achievements in multiple other threads.

If you haven't seen them, that just means you haven't been looking.

A link to at least one of those threads has already been posted on this thread.

If you try scanning the "World News" forum you can easily find others.

Why not take the man to a Government Hospital? Oh wait. Commission🤔

Because, as subsequent events bore out, he was too critically injured to make it that far. The hospital in question was less than 500m away from the scene of the accident - why would you take a critically ill patient with possibly only a few minutes to live, anywhere else?

Also, as a rescuer, he undoubtedly knew that (as confirmed in the other threads on this incident) all hospitals are obligated to provide emergency treatment.

Yeah, sure, there was only one little crime, which wasn't really that important, correct?

Next time you are in front of a judge try your reasoning and look what will happen.

This ruling doesn't say it was only a little crime that wasn't important, it says it wasn't a crime in the first place.

What other people chose to believe is up to them.  I just remember all of the quotes from various government officials and Big Pharma experts that "if you get the shots you won't get Covid."

The only person in a position of authority I know of, that said if you got vaccinated you wouldn't get Covid was Joe Biden, who said it in a "town hall" meeting.

It was an unscripted remark that he did not repeat - and in fact corrected in subsequent official announcements.

Here's one such announcement from him with corrected information, from just two months after his incorrect town hall remarks.

Remarks by President Biden on Fighting the COVID-19 Pandemic

So would you care to give examples of the other "various government officials and Big Pharma experts" who said this?
