6 hours ago, tonray said:When will they start with these fines at "alll you can eat" buffets ?
I have eaten at " all you can eat buffets " Many of them are just that and you can keep going back for more. But if you leave food uneaten on your plate you get charged double. This stops greedy people piling food on their plates and wasting uneaten food. The rules are clear before you start

But if he dies she will probably get everything back. He had better sleep with one eye open and keep looking over his shoulder.

The victim was a Pakistani refugee and he died from his injures. The car driver reported to the police after he left hospital. The police said he will probably be charged with causing death through reckless driving. It will be interesting to see if this case gets as much attention as the Ducati case.

So Prayut is now taking advice from Anutin the health minister ? But of course Anutin with no qualifications in the medical profession is an expert on this matter.

She based the 30 million on lost earnings from Tangmo. She was expecting Tangmo to be at the top of her profession and earning a good salary for the next 30 years. That would be highly unlikely where looks were her meal ticket. Her income would have dropped drastically as she got older and lost her looks. Maybe 3 million would be a fairer figure.

WISE are great. I get my UK government pensions through them. Always on time and top rate, in certain countries you can also get a WISE debit card ( sadly not in Thaland ) VEEM are also good but a poorer exchange rate and much slower service.

On the fence again, same as the war ( It is a war ) in Myanmar. Thailand cannot even sort out it's ongoing war in the South of Thailand. Too many armchar Generals in charge, probably none have even seen action.

Thailand will not rush to condemn Russia over Ukraine, but will they be sympathetic and supportive to all the Russian tourists and Russian ex pats ? Who are in Thailand and can't pay their bills because their credit cards and bank accounts have been frozen. Also as flights have also been banned to Russia how will these people return home?

Korat had it's name changed to Nakhon Ratchasima, but people, mainly Thais still call it Korat. this is very confusing to visitors as all the road signs say Nakhon Ratchasima and not Korat. Bangkok will probably be the same. Thais will shorten the name, as they do now to Krung Thep or stick with the easily recognised name of Bangkok. These office wallers have too much free time on their hands and are trying to justify their positions.

I wonder whose brilliant idea this is ? We can only guess can't we ?
People still cannot pronounce the name of Bangkok's main airport Suvarnabhumi. ( me included )
The same as Nakhon Ratchasima is still called Korat by most people.

" It had been raining and the roads were slippery, reported Thai Rath."
Thais cannot drive in the rain, they only know one speed and never drive to suit road or weather conditions.
Pick-ups are goods vehicles they are not designed for speed. They are very light on the rear end and difficult to control on wet roads.

This is the same all over the world.......In appeal you are supposed to be innocent......
She was tried, found guilty and sentenced, so therefore she cannot be innocent. In most countries you or your lawyer has to appeal whilst you are in prison.

" At a hearing at Nonthraburi Provincial Court on Mondah, Ornuma Plodprong, 30, known as ‘Kru Jum’ was sentenced to spend 195 days in jail after being found guilty of child abuse and the assault of a minor. "
BUT this being Thailand she is probably out on bail pending an appeal.
In Thailand being sentenced does not mean you go to jail. The appeal process can go on for years and you are free all that time.

This scam has been going on for years. It was legit at the beginning but foreigners were just signing up then never attending classes, so the government put a stop to it. This was just a way to extent your stay it had nothing to do with teaching.

Isnt 101(Roi Et)Pizza/bar next door to the place that you mention. Just a thought?
There was no sign of life at 101 on Sunday. I used to go there years ago and it was a favourite with Farangs until the Italian started up. Now no places in that area seem to attract farangs

I used to go to a restaurant by the lake in Roi-et which was run by an Italian. But he left and the restaurant changed hands and went downhill fast.
It was always busy with mainly Farangs because the owner was an excellent cook and had great Italian food.
I went there yesterday and there was only one Farang customer. The food was ok but very expensive including the drinks.
I liked it when the Italian was there because people used to sit and talk to each other not have their heads buried in their mobile phones like Thais.
Although I don't visit Roi-Et very often it would be nice to find the new " In Place " for Farangs

So she's been in quarantine for 14 days and now another 14.
28 days quarantined.
How is your month going?
And Thailand wants to reduce the quarantine period to 10 days.. Thai logic .....or lack of it.

He went to inspect the work early in the morning? How early is early, it was dark when he was rescued? Maybe he popped in on his way back from a party.
-
I used to enjoy an early morning cycle ride but had to stop as I was always chased and attacked by stray dogs.
Employ dog catchers as they do in other countries and put down wild dogs. If the do-gooders complain let them take care of the dogs and be resposible for them.

The way rescuers and onlookers were crowding around the shaft I am surprised more did not fall into the hole as they were taking pics

Immigration is now watching all borders for the billionaire fugitive.
But are they watching all the airports ? He will probably fly in as he has most likely been doing for years. If they want really want to catch him, they should be watching his family who have been helping him evade justice for years. They are the real criminals. He is just a drugged up playboy who probably does exactly what mummy tells him to do.

Just try him in his absence, and hold his family responsible for his return. His family are the ones who have funded him and allowed him to remain free. They should be prosecuted for helping a known criminal escape justice.

Most of the prostitution is controlled by the police anyway. They are either pimps or fine the girls .
