I always tip my regular places not because I want to continue the good relations and service but because I know that in the long run over years it makes a difference and I like the people who run my regular places. It has gotten to the point where they say I really don't need to tip because the relationship is more like friends now than just customer, just makes me want to tip all the more.

The 3BB 590 baht deal is fast enough for me (pages load as fast as WIndows Explorer directories open) and I don't see much different between mine and my neighbor who has the next one up.

I get travel insurance before I go. Something like World Nomad or Covermore do the job and cover my whole bill minus 100 bucks when I had a stint in hospital for a week.

Dr. Supriya is great and works out of Sripat Hospital. She also does checkups at Kullapat clinic (Jet Yod area) up until the birth.

I got back from the ENT and and he prescribed me psuedoephedrine and surprise surprise it cleared up my sinuses straight away, well within 30 minutes. He also agreed that phenylephrine doesn't work for sinusitis. I forgot to ask him what it actually does work for. Interestingly he said that I should not use any of the nasal sprays as after a few days they could make my symptoms worse. In any case, I'm happy that my sinuses are clear. Worth the trip to hospital.

And I want a pony that poops diamonds.
And if you send me only 100,000 US dollars by Western Union it shall be yours!

One of the things that I love about this country - when my laptop has a problem instead of suggesting I buy another they fix it and for a fair price.

Benadryl doesn't seem to do anything except make me sleepy so from experience and my prior diagnosis from doctors in Australia I'm going to make the educated guess that I don't have allergies. I'm going to make an appointment to see an ENT and see what can be done. It's gotten to the point where my sinusitis makes me useless for anything. Considering that it's gotten beyond annoying I'd happily jump through the hoops at a hospital and pay to get this sorted out.
I'm currently also taking wholefood multiminerals, ZMA (zinc, magnesium and and vitamin D but they don't seem to help my current issue. I find it weird that nothing at a normal chemist can help with what should be a fairly simple and straight forward issue to help.

I've had drives last a year, 2 years, 5 years and more. It's gotten to the point where I start getting paranoid around the 4-5 year mark. From past experience there is often no prior warning, the drive is just suddenly bust.

doctors will prescribe maxiphed. Works well enough. Why not try a neti pot?
They prescribe Maxiphed with psuedoephedrine?
Neti gives makes my sinuses worse though my wife likes it.

Tiffy is back on the shelves now but with phenylephrine rather than pseudoephedrine. Unfortunately, doesn't work as well.
You can still get meds with pseudephedrine but only at a hospital.
Zyrtec works well for the allergic aspect of things, as done loratadine, and this may be enough, but if there is still congestion after taking antihistamines there are steroidal nose drops that often help but should see an ENT for advice first. An ENT can also provide a script for a product containing pseudoephedrine if that is indicated, but I think for seasonal rhinitis ("hay fever") there are better approaches.
If you are in Bangkok Dr. Songklot at St Louis is very good.
What would you suggest as a better alternative for seasonal rhinitis?
Have you found that zytrec clears the sinuses?
Loratadine just seems to make me drowsy.
As for phenylephrine my doctor and pharmacist in Australia just straight out told me that that is a waste of money and should never have been substituted for psuedoephedrine. At least in Australia they regulate psuedoephedrine by limiting purchases to one box at a time and you need to show your driver's license. It makes it easy to get on with work and life. I would think that it would only raise suspicion if a person came in asking to buy a case of a thousand.

Correct me if I'm wrong. Does the injection have the dead/inactive virus meaning that one cannot catch the flu where as the nasal spray has a weakened virus meaning that there is a small chance.
In any case, after a one month bout with the flu this year I'm consider getting it for myself.

Sure Thailand would probably boot them out if the shoe was on the other foot but I'd always put Denmark on a higher footing than most developed countries including my own (Australia) when it comes to humanitarian stuff. So I kind of excepted more of them.

Down here in Koh Samui / Koh Phangan I have seen quite a few.
Same in Phuket.

The sarcastic commenters don't get it. There are real studies going on showing how constantly being on smart phones and the internet is literally making us stupider and less able to focus compared to 30 years ago.
This article is spot on and the issue actually needs to be taken seriously. Something's wrong when kids are more comfortable speaking in emoticons then speaking verbally. There's even some proof that kids today are less proficient in spoken language compared to their elders when they were the same age.
I think it's a serious issue that should not be taken lightly, even if it at first glance it appears like fluff. It's not.
Like any addiction it's hard to give up. People find reasons why their situation is different, and why their outcome will be different. One thing I believes diminishes intelligence is looking up the answers to a discussion immediately on wikipedia instead of discussing and analyzing the topic verbally.
When a person can just look up the answer they give up the opportunity for critical thinking. A group of people will develop their brains when they sit and discuss a topic whether or not they even get the right answer or not. Look up the answer on wikipedia or something similar and sure they have the answer but the brains were not used.
Science has shown for a long time that doing puzzles, playing chess and in general thinking critically keeps one sharp into old age. Getting the puzzle right or winning at chess is not the point. It's the exercise itself that counts. Looking up answers on wiki is the equivalent to getting pec implants. They may look alright but there is no strength there. In this case though at least a discussion of sorts if being had.
Facebook, Twitter and other social media are detrimental in other ways. People are losing the art of writing properly, even on email. Writing is a great form of communication and although I prefer a face to face chat over email or letters I have found that the mass use of texting has degraded the overall level of email writing too. It's making people lazier and it's pretty sad when people are too lazy to even try to write properly. It's not even the same level as going to the gym. It's just exercise for brain but it seems that things are getting to the point where even this is difficult.
I think that it takes a particularly disciplined type of person to use a smartphone intelligently. I acknowledge it's positives for work although when I was required to use one I found that it increased my workload and wasn't really a positive. These days I don't need to use one so I don't. I put it on the shelf and it hasn't left that shelf for several years. When I'm out and about I see more and more people who seem so zoned out on their smartphones that it just seems sad. Devices that were supposed to connect people seem to actually seem to disconnect people in the physical world.

On occasion (such as now) I get sinusitis and in the past used to take TIFFY <deleted> which had pseudoephedrine and that did the trick. The replacement phenylephrine doesn't do anything for my sinuses and I have doubts that it works as a decongestant at all. I've tried netti pots, acupuncture, telfast and other herbal concoctions but nothing seems to work so my question is: for other people who suffer from sinusitis what do you do/use that works?

Everything seems to be opening fine for me today including EZTV. 3BB near the North Gate in Chiang Mai.

They are durable to scuffs and scratches but I wouldn't be dropping them or anything like that.

Can now access the sites that the OP linked to as well as amazon, IMDB. I wonder if this will be a fluctuating thing for a while.
-
My friend can't load IMDB.com either without a proxy. Seems like a lot of sites are inaccessible without proxies today. I called 3BB but they don't have any clue why.
-
3BB in Chiang Mai and I can't get any of the above mentioned sites except for BBC. Amazon.com doesn't come up either. All of them work when I go through a proxy.

The Swedish Massages I've had were just Thai Massage with oil. I'd also be interested in any recommendations for legitimate Swedish massage.

I've known of 2 bike thefts, one was of a Honda Dream and the other a Nouvo. The first was stolen from the parking lot under his condo during the day and the second was in a quiet soi near Cafe Del Sol after 3am. The "how" of the first one was caught on the condo camera, the guy just sat on the bike talking on his phone while casually checking the bike then managed to start it up (from what I gather some of the older locks will start up with any key of the same model) and cruised off. I've also had a friend have his 900 baht helmet stolen which was not locked but just sitting on the mirror.
As for me I've left my keys in the bike at least 5 times and come back to find everything still there. Lucky I guess. Still, I'm shocked at my absent mindedness in the last few years. There was a time I would never have been so careless.
