After having successfully entered my bank/1040 details, my GMP page has since reverted to show the original "check mailed May 8, 2020".
Has that been other people's experience in a similar situation?
Sorry to hear. That is not good. I surely would call the IRS to see what the problem is or you might be waiting forever. Hope all is ok and good luck. Still waiting for my deposit, but my 6 week lost check process will be finished on July 17th, so we'll see.

does the website give u payment date? I assume not--the system is so messed up--some people reporting they got before payment date. some got payment 3 days after entering bank info etc.... no consistency in how this works
No payment date and yes, some people have been paid without a payment date given.
I assume that we need to wait until the 6 week lost check process is finished and then they will deposit the money-I hope!!
The person that got paid I think was over the 6 week waiting period.

Did u get anything resolved when you called the IRS?
First off, so glad you finally got everything to work.
The only thing that got resolved was to start the 6 week process for a lost check however, about 3 days later, the get my payment site allowed me to put in my DD details, so I hope the payment will be done by DD instead of having another check sent. I don't think they will make the deposit until after the 6 weeks has passed. I called on July 6th, entered my bank details on July 10th and still waiting.

I filed 2018, I am on Social Security with direct deposit. On checking the IRS site says a check was sent May 8 to the addtress where I lived a year ago. With US-Thailand mail down to a crawl ...
I would call the IRS and ask for a replacement. It is more than the 9 weeks. Mine was sent on May 1st and lost, and I called to get replacement.

Did they say how long the site would be under maintenance? Asking cause I finally got my accurate agi number and want to see if it works?
No, just the message the system is undergoing maintenance. Rooting for you!!

no I didn't put any bank info on form 3099. Since the "refund" was not a direct deposit I left all the banking info fields blank
Just FYI, I called the IRS on a Monday night at 7pm our time and my wait was only 4 minutes! Yes, you read right, 1,2,3, 4 minutes.
Maybe the nightmare of calling is over. Also, the get my payment site as of now is undergoing maintenance.
The last time they did that, I was no longer able to log in with my address and get the get my payment page to open. Fingers crossed.

No, I did NOT use dashes.

Can anyone expand on the ability to CORRECT, or UPDATE one's Direct Deposit routing/account details?
I did file a 2018 and 2019 return, but made a mistake entering my DD details. I would like to correct that if possible?
Barring that, I guess we can take credit on the EIP payment on our 2020 1040 if we didn't receive it?
As you have read in several posts, the only way you can enter bank details now is to call the IRS and tell them you did not receive your check and to send a replacement. In a few days when you go to the get my payment site, the box will change and now ask you to enter your bank details. This is what I did for my check that was mailed on May 1st and never received.

I agree but maybe that poster had some insight on how he got his info accepted.. In an earlier post I believe from ubonjoe it said account numbers should include the dashs between numbers--i did not put those in i will try that later. I don't see how that would fix but u never know.. Message I get is information provided does not match your records on file. You never know that could be the same message if bank account number is not formatted correctly
The same thing happened to me. All I can tell you is what worked for me.
First, use your 2018 tax return info. Make sure your AGI is correct.
If you did NOT have to pay taxes OR you are NOT getting a refund, then it doesn't matter what box you check as to I am getting a refund or I owe taxes, just make sure you check one of the boxes and for the amount, simply enter 0.
This allowed me to enter my bank details. Hope that works.

What numbers are you talking about? Your AGI and refund amounts?
Never mind, I just read you post above. Sorry about that.

I never did get my check and on July 6th, I called to get a replacement check.
The get my payment site changed to get my bank details which I did and hope I get the payment by direct deposit instead of waiting for a check.

Update...I got it????
Original mailing date of May 1. Check returned back to IRS early June. Called IRS, gave them a new address, and got check reissued in mid-June. Get My Payment magically starts working in early July and I'm able to enter US bank account info. Waited for awhile, never got a payment date posted to Get My Payment, and then Get My Payment stopped working for me about a week later.
This morning logged into online banking and saw the $1200 had just hit my account.
Hope I'm sorted for stimulus round 2 since my account info is in the system now.
Nice to hear. So happy for you. I hope the same thing happens to me very soon. I don't want to have the stress of waiting for another check to come and who knows how long it would take to get if at all. I'll let you know when I get my good news.

No payment yet, getting the same message as you. Get My Payment just says "your payment will be deposited into account xxx" but there is no date. I will give it to the end of the month and then call again. No check or notice of payment letter has been received at the US address I gave for the replacement.
Just filed 2019 return last week, snail mail to Austin, with a new foreign address. Hoping that doesn't delay things even further!
I just checked the get my payment again and it changed to say you are eligible for the payment and we will update this page once we schedule your payment date. Did this happen to you as well?
By the way, the return you mailed to Austin will not be processed for many months as the IRS said they are many months behind in processing paper returns, so I don't think that will be an issue, but it is the IRS.

And the saga continues...
Decided to check Get My Payment again this afternoon, with the new address I gave when I called in to get my check reissued a month ago. Got the same "info does not match what we have on file" error. Oh well, not a surprise. Then, just to see if the error message would be different, I decided to put my old 2018 butchered address from the IRS into Get My Payment.
And what did I see when I clicked "Submit"? ????A blue "Enter Bank Account Info" button ????. Entered all the required info, clicked submit, half expecting it to return an error. Nope, I got "Your payment will be deposited into account xxx".
Now will it actually be deposited, since the IRS rep on the phone said the reissued check would have to be mailed and a direct deposit wasn't possible anymore? I don't know, but I figured I may as well get my banking info into the system and sort it out later. If there is a 2nd stimulus I should in theory be good to go for that one at least. Will probably call again next week and see if a phone rep can shed any light on this.
Did you get your payment deposited to your account? If not, what does the get my payment now say?
I ask, because that is exactly what happened to me today. Check was to be mailed on May 1st. Called the IRS for a replacement on July 6th and told me the same thing as your agent said, but today when I went to the get my payment, the blue button also appeared for me to enter my bank details. It was successful, but it only said my payment would go to that account but did not give me a date. Thanks for answer in advance.

MSN.COMAs lawmakers consider another round of payments, here’s what went wrong the first time.I feel your pain. I am in exactly the same boat. Curious, are you checking the IRS get my payment to see if they updated your status as to when your replacement card is scheduled to be mailed?

I went back a couple of pages but haven't found an answer to this question.
Has anybody with the payment status "We scheduled your check to be mailed on May 15, 2020 to the address we have on file for you. ..." received a check in Thailand? Thanks.
Yes, I do remember at least one person saying that they got their check that was dated May 15th.

Question for you - Did you have to go through the "lost check" process before the check will be reissued? I'm wondering because I got the same info when I got my check reissued, minus the part about calling back in 3 weeks to check on the process. I didn't have to do the "lost check" process as the IRS had my first check returned back to them, so I'm wondering if the part about calling back is just for those going through this process.
Yeah, screwed up to put it mildly. Is the IRS just trolling us at this point?????
Yes, I have to go thru the lost check process. I have no faith or confidence that that the process has started or will take 6 weeks or less or that I receive my new check. Just totally frustrated with the whole thing, but nothing else I can do.

May 1 was a check any others will be debt card. The above info is correct. They are open 7am to 10pm ECT. You may need to try a few time but stay with it. +12679411000
This just shows you how screwed up this whole process and system is.
I just got off the phone with the IRS and believe it or not, I only had to wait 4 minutes for a live person.
My check was scheduled to be mailed on May 1st. The agent said my check was actually mailed out on May 11th and it was a check.
She told me my replacement would also be a check and not a debit card and I could not give direct deposit info to change.
She said it would take 6 weeks, but I should call back in 3 weeks to make sure the process was started or where it stands.
When will the madness end. I bet you, with my luck, I will get the "lost" check this week.

After a venture in futility last night trying to contact the IRS I gave up. I just now after being transferred 4 times and a 1 hour wait on hold got to talk to a real person. The person was a young man who was polite and helpful. After the secret handshake he was able to access the details. He confirmed that the system leaves a lot to be desired as the system is BROKEN DICK. He said he was putting a trace on the check and then a new (debit card) would be mailed to me at my address in Thailand. This process could take another 6 weeks. The phone number he said to call the IRS on for the stimulus check is +12679411000 He told me not to use the 1800 number. He also gave me his ID number. The IRS has to mail this debit card to my Thai address and can not mail it to a US address. There is a chance that the IRS may transfer the funds over to SSA as they have my banking detail for DD this is to start July 24. That being said next year on the 2020 forums they will be a place to put your banking details for DD.
Sorry to hear of all your troubles. When I call on Monday, is there any particular number or numbers I should press to get a live person? Curious, did he confirm the first stimulus payment sent was a check or was it a debit card? Thanks again for your help and time.

Late last week I sent an email to the Manila SSA FBU Office in which I said/asked that I've seen a few social medial posts that the SSA has suspended/is not mailing SSA Form 7162's for 2020 due to the pandemic but I can’t find anything official on any SSA website such as the Manila SSA FBU site.
In response to that email below is the quote of the Manila SSA Office response I got today/2 July. Note, it simply says the 7162's have not been mailed yet....does not say this year's mailings/completion has been suspended.
Above response is basically the SSA's standard response/policy regarding non-receipt of 7161/7162 which is they (SSA) wants a person to wait until after the first and second 7161/7162 mailings done in May/Jun and Sep/Oct of each year. They don't want that process bypassed/shortcutted--they really want you to receive and complete the bar-coded mailing sent from Wilkes Barre.
However, if you do not receive your 7161/7162 from one of those mailings then contact SSA on or after 1 Nov. They will then email you a 7161/7162 form for completion and return via scan/email or snail mail to the Manila FBU....Manila may also recommend that you also snail mail a copy to Wilkes Barre....but the copy going to Manila will keep your benefit flowing. The 7162 that they will email you was identified earlier in the thread and I've attached it again.
Quote of Manila SSA FBU webpage as of 2 July 2020 regarding 7161/7162 completion
https://ph.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/social-security/feq/
And here's the SSA Form 7162 again that the Manila SSA FBU will send a person for completion if they didn't get a 7162 from the 1st or 2nd annual mailings. Or at least it's the form version they sent my wife last year when her 7162 never found our Bangkok mailbox (but my 7162 did)...and it's the same form version the Manila SSA Office provided the VFW District 5 person in May 2020 when he asked the Manila FBU about the 2020 mailing.

Thanks for the update. Do you have a pdf for the 7161 form as I have a child and my computer will not allow me to access the SSA website. Thanks for your help and time!

Very few if any. I am still waiting. 54 days. I well wait tell the evening of July 6 our time then give them a call at +12679411000.
It looks as if just you and I did not receive our checks. We must have shared the same bag/container that was put on the stagecoach across the Pacific Ocean.
Have to wait until July 3 which is 9 weeks before they will put a trace and then it takes 6 weeks to trace before they send another check. After that, have to hope it does not get lost again. They will not change to a bank account. Terrible!

Did anybody not receive their stimulus check that was scheduled to be mailed out May 1st or earlier to Thailand?
If not, have you contacted the IRS, what number did you use and what did they say?
Thank you-I ask because mine still has not arrived that was scheduled to be mailed out May 1st.

It still shows you are eligible for payment with my last 4 digits of my account.
By the way, I meant to say obviously August 17th in my previous post when my 6 week period will be finished-senior moment!
