can you describe the smell more, does it smell of burning electronics or something else?

I would describe it as burning electronics, The thing is I am not overloading it, all I run is the pc and monitor, but as I said before the smell is there even on stand by ? I like you think it is very strange to have both the UPS having the same problem's ?

I purchaced a Leonics 500 va UPS. charged it for 8 hours like the guy in the shop said then connected it to my computer and LCD monitor. after about 15/20 minuits I could smell a strong chemical sort of smell, the UPS was not hot only slightly warm, after a while I disconnected it and took it outside, I then reconected it to the mains and left it on all night hoping the smell was just the fact it was new, but next day the smell was just as bad so I took it back to the shop, the guy in the shop said yes it does smell and offerd to replace it for me,

I said ok but I don't want the same make I want to change, he said ok, I paid some more money and exchanged it for a PowerMatic IMD 525 AP. I brought it home charged it for 8 hours connected it up to my computer and monitor and to my surprize this new UPS started to smell as well ? again it run's cool and all the readings are normal but the smell is something I can't live with, so bad after a while it pick's your throat ! I have a friend who has the same model UPS and has had it now over two years and he say's his does not smell, Is it possible I have two dud units even tho they are both of a different make ?

In my experience of Thailand the rich people here are also very tight people, spending money on the girls but little els, why the hel_l should we take a plane when we can scrimp on the bus ?

Just because were scrimping on the bus dossent mean we are to be expected to take a beating. the last thing we want is to have to waste our money on medical expenses as most of us are to tight to have bought medical cover insurance.

Theres a pressure relief valve on your pump, its possible tho un likely that there is a problem there, get a mechanic to check it out, you could increase the spring pressure on the valve but then it would also increase the pressure on the oil seals.

Probably best to just put up with it and be thankful your not driving an old series 2a LWB Land Rover...

On one trip to the UK I met up with a girl who drove a smart car, a great fun little car to drive with a strange sort of semi pre select gearbox, surprisingly roomy in the front, no room to put anything at all in the back due to the fact there is no back, in an accident your body is the crumple zone ! so for that reason I would not recommend one for driving along sukhumvit road. or anywhere els in Thailand for that matter.

Wife and I speak pretty much exclusively in English at home when it is just us and our daughter.

When the nanny is about, I switch to 50% Thai. I speak to the nanny in Thai and Thai to my daughter when she is around the nanny.

Same when we are out and about. If shopping etc, I'll speak Thai (of course) to those around me, and when in that situation, I'll speak Thai with my daughter. Seems natural enough to me. You are in that environment, you speak the language.

If it is one on one, we switch back to English.

Well I for one hate their gut's. before I came to live out here I always thought of them as hard working people who could cook a good meal.

After living out here and witnessing their rudeness and abruptnesses in every respect right across the board I now feel the way I do.

They don't even smile when their taking your money. I don't think I have ever seen a Chinese smile, maybe the wife smiles when getting her portion in the bedroom but I doubt it .

Hello everyone. Can somebody help me ? I have recently bought a Samsung SGH-C520 mobile phone. I like the phone as it is small and perfect for my needs.

I would like to transfer pictures from my phone onto my computer, I can only find a USB lead from a Samsung D-520. the shop tell me the lead is the same as the C-520 but the D-520 driver will not work and I need to down load from the internet the C-520 driver, sound's simple, but I have now been three day's trying to find this driver everywhere on the internet including the Samsung.com website.

Everywere I look I read of people with the same problem so I thought right. if theres anywhere that can help me in my hour of need its Thai visa internet forum. whats the chance of finding the SGH-C520 driver guy's ?

When I press the re set botton on my Billion Bipac 5200s adsl it switches me off in the tot office. I loose my connection, they connect me up again if I phone them. the reason I press the botton is I am trying to access the 5200s from my pc in order to try and set up a password.

Is tot dropping me off because I do not have a password and have never had any information from my 5200s.
