U.G.,
Have you tried the Steak in the Italian restaurant, Favola, in the Meridien hotel yet? That was the best steak I have had in Thailand. Costly no doubt about it, but great taste.

She'll get "arrested", appeal her sentence and apply for bail, which will be granted in exchange for passports.
BUT, it might all be just a rumor, arriving at 10 PM is a "straight to jail until Monday morning" option, and if the police doesn't do that - it's time to take over the airport again.
I saw her arriving on the TV and she was certainly not being arrested. Please don't joke about taking over the airport again as it's just not funny.
cheers, Rick
It might not be funny, but then how can you explain that a convicted criminal is allowed to swan into the country without being arrested?
Don't bet on the fact that the yellows are going to be back at the airport.
It's not up to me to explain that is it? People died during he airport takeover and i still don't find that something to joke about.
Cheers, Rick
Rick,
I wasn't asking you to explain it, merely pointing out that the Arrival of Pokamon could further fan the flames, especially if the authorities are seen to be doing nothing.
I have agreed with everything you said because it's ridiculous that she has not been arrested. I also agree that it could fan the flames as you put it. There appears to be no law in Thailand at this moment.
Cheers, Rick.
hi...
"Immigration Police Commissioner Lt Gen Chatchawal Suksomjit confirmed Friday that Pojaman Shinawatra will return to Bangkok at about 10 pm Friday night.
Chatchawal said immigration police had no arrest warrant against Pojaman so she would pass through normal immigration procedure."The Nation
so if there was no arrest warrant, then there was no need to arrest her. the court is doing its job her sentence is pending appeal. where are the surprises? the current case against her is already in the court.
she never jumped bail in thailand she was already out of the country, so her bail conditions obviously included allowing her to travel, now she is back. so what did she do wrong?
amarka
What I was trying to find out is what her conditions of bail were? Surely doing a bunk to the UK with Hubby during the Olympics, and living there would indicate that her intention was not to come back. In fact she would still probably be there if the UK F.O. had not revoked her visa. I find it odd that when you've been convicted and sentenced that you can get bail, then swan off around the world without any travel restriction whatsoever!!
-
Surely she broke her conditions of bail, when she left China for the UK? Should she not be arrested on arrival at Swampy and thrown in the BKK Hilton?
(we live in hope, but I doubt that would happen). Is she still appealing her conviction?

Sorry TP, they didn't put out the reserve team they had 6 first team regulars in the side.
Must admit I thought, along with several other Rams fans that Stoke would give us a belting, especially in light of our last 3 away games.
Came as a pleasent surprise to find that the Rub of the green had gone our way...............Still would have swapped it all for the 3 points against Forest.
Anyway all the best for the remainder of the season, and hopefully you'll manage to do what we didn't, stay up!
Cheers

I look forward to having a beer or two in CM when I get back in mid December.

Took herself over to Ireland last January/Feb.
Arrived in Dublin 19:00, collected car drove to Hotel at Liffey Valley shopping centre. Before checking in went to Marks and Spencer in shopping centre, bought her 2 sets of long sleeve/long leg thermal underwear. Kept her warm for the remainder of the trip.
She loved the fact that we also had 4 days of snow and that it settled for a few days.
This is a woman that gets close to me in the Supermarket when we are in the frozen food section. She survived and no complaints about the cold. Make sure she has a good coat, hat, scarf and gloves.

Don't forget, the police have access to Flight passenger lists etc, and it doesn't take much of a program to check names and passport numbers, so in some cases its quite an easy trail to follow, especially if the person on the run is using their own passport rather than a false one.

For BBQ's have a quick look in Rimping Supermkt at Mee chock they have several at the top end of the store. You could also look at bbqthai on their web site as I'm sure they would ship to your house as well.
Hope this helps.

You could always try International movie database, GOOGLE imdb, you should be able to get to it that route. You can search for most movies and TV shows there. Hope this helps.
-
If you do a search on the subject, you may find the address etc. for the research centre in CM that were attempting to breed said Yabbies. I posted it on here a couple of months ago.
Hope this helps.

Might it be Ken Loach's Riff-Raff from 1991, with Robert Carlyle and Ricky Tomlinson in it?

You may wish to go to this site:- http://www.seat61.com/ then click onto Thailand, it has photo's of the seats, rolling stock etc.
Cecco: looks like you posted in the wrong area!! That is unless Barack Obama has a Thai-railways brochure about his person.

Easy Mr Mac the other game televised here was your shower v Forest and there were a few clowns on display there including the ref who disallowed you a goal and gave you a penalty instead which some long haired cloggy promtly missed but you managed to knock another in literally 45 seconds later which the ref also disallowed. Quality? Not exactly. Entertainment? Absolutely.
I havn't seen the last 2 Tottenham games so can't say too much but with January still a couple of months away I just wonder if we'll slip back? Bit 'fortunate' by all accounts last 2 games but will take all of that.
Cheers
Your round when I see you
I downloaded the file from Midlands today, that some one kindly posted. I still cannot see who was 'pushed' during the 2nd goal. If that fellow is the up and coming ref. in the UK then heaven help the game. Clearly a case of the ref wanting to be the star.
Will be back around 13/14th December, will you still be in CM mate, if so it will certainly be my pleasure to get the beers in?

CoCo the clown to replace Gomes, (Sorry Keith, just could not resist that one).

'My friend has just bought one of those Acer Aspire One notebooks (Basically a copy of the EEEPc), and it is ULTRA slow. I mean really BAD, even when running the LINUX system it comes with. It boots faster than the ASUS, but thats as far as it goes. Takes an age to do anything else. Having said that, it does look a bit more pretty!'
I purchased one a few weeks ago, the first thing I did was to have some extra RAM put into it, this now works quite a bit quicker.

Just had a good feed at the Similan Seafood restaurant on Mea Jo Rd. Many of you will know it as the old "Buonissimo" restaurant. The price was 2600 baht, for 5 persons, including "Mantis" prawns, and several shrimp dishes, Tom Yom gung etc. 2 large Heineken and several non-alcoholic drinks.
They also have live grouper and live crayfish available as well. All in all some very good produce, and very nicely cooked as well. Okay a bit pricey but still feel it is worth while splashing out occasionally.
Enjoy.
I have not noticed the restaurant and I do not remember the Buonissimo. Where is it located and what side of the 1001 Hwy?
Its about half way up on the left hand side, in between the first set of lights at the bottom of 1001 and the next set at Rimping Plaza.

An Aussie Yabbie smuggler
I remember seeing a program on ABC, where an Australian farmer was trying to breeder a yabbie that could not reproduce, so that live ones could be sold in other parts of the world without Australia loosing any of the market. Looks like he didn't succeed.
-
Hi all,
Just wondering is there anybody growing yabbys or kunacs in thailand?
(a yabby is similar to a prawn)
Thanks farmerjo
Yabbys or Yabbies, the ones that are edible size, not the ones that the "banana-benders" use for bait!
I may have missed it (not being too bright) but is there a contact who can supply a minimum breeding stock to here in Ubonratchatani province to start-up a small hobby enterprise. I would like to utalise the several backyard concrete tanks previously from a failed trial Frog Farm. we only have town, untreated water supply also an extended family who are racking up heaps of "hammock time". No Prawns or Super Yabbies thanks.
I think that they are trying to grow the Red Clawed Crayfish at the Royal Project in Doi Inthanon. They can be reached at:-

Anyone direct me to reliable Dry Cleaners in the Nong Hoi/Chang Klang areas. I have a set of long drapes that are overdue for a scrub. DC s seem to be conspicuous by their absence in these areas. Failing that, anywhere in the cm locale would be appreciated.
Many thanks.
There was one I noticed at Meechock Market, close to Rimping Supermarket on Mae Jo Rd. As you turn into the "Plaza" from Mae Jo Rd, it is there on your right hand side just a little further on after the Siam Bank and the gold shops.
Hope this helps, its not the area you wanted but its the only one I know.

"Shopping for DVDs, down the Night Bazaar yesterday-evening, roughly half the dozen I picked out were unavailable, and also 'Mama mia' is not yet out, heck we watched that in the UK Lake District several weeks ago."
I bought a copy upstairs at Pantip Plaza some 6 weeks ago, not the best of copies, but watchable.

I have had 2 different type of Timberland deck shoes, and both pairs the soles have split away from the main part of the shoe. The only thing I could put it down to was the heat.
-
Try and do a search on this subject, as there was one on here not too long ago, certainly within the last 6 months.
Good luck.

You may want to find a course that does the re-breather as part of the offshore course, as the MOGIT course does not do this, or it did not do it 3 weeks ago. I know that they were looking at doing it, but don't think that they have initiated it yet. There are courses close to Singapore, Johan Bohru(?), also one in Miri as well.
Good luck

I checked the Thai airways website recenly and there was a special section of reduced cost internal flights for the month of Jan. So could be worth checking for a bit of a bargain.
