  1. Usual story, when a girl comes of age & realises she's "sitting" on her fortune, why work all day for 300 baht when you can make 2000+ baht laying on your back for one hour!!!

It's not that easy or they would all do it. You must consider that Thailand overwhelmingly attracts some very ugly guys and crusty old men with a loose comb over that comes undone and that could pop his dentures at any moment while grinding away..

A lot of these girls have cut marks from self harm and the baggage they will carry for the rest of there lives will make them volatile. I half admire the guys that marry the old ones. Now that takes some balls!

  2.
You're brainwashed in a false feeling of safety.
I personally experienced a fire in the plane I was a passenger in.
Also an emercency landing and countless times I had to change planes, at some airport, because of some technical fault or other.
Have a look at this site: www.airsafe.com, there are more sites like this.

Im not. I'm a licensed pilot and Ive already read that site and many others. I suspect you have a strong fear of flying to start with. Do some research on google, you can not argue against stastics :-)

  3. Once again, and at a higher volume for the hard of hearing, if you are TRULY WORRIED about your visa status, what are you doing here?  If you are TRULY WORRIED, march yourself down to Immigration tomorrow morning and tell them I am a retired citizen of X country, here on an X visa.  Does this new 10 year visa option change my visa status or the conditions I have been using?  Immigration does a lot of retirement visas and 1 year extensions.  They WILL have the answers to this  ROUTINE inquiry--it's what they do.   In my opinion the 'implementation details' of this new, optional visa are beside the point--it's only going to be available for 14 countries.   So far,  2 of us have been to Immigration and got the answer that nothing is changing but if you are TRULY WORRIED, don't take it from us,  check for yourself.

He is to scared they will tell him the truth and then he will have nothing to whine about. Either that or he is to scared to leave his room in case he misses a post on TV

Looking at the picture of the crashed plane my guess is that it ran out of fuel. The evidence for that is the lack of scorch marks both on the wreckage and to the surrounding terrain.

According to JacDec, the distance from the departure airport to Medelin exceeds the maximum distance the aircraft, an Avro RJ85 is rated for. http://www.jacdec.de/2016/11/29/2016-11-28-lamia-avro-rj-85-crashed-near-medellin-with-81-on-board/

Excellent article. Is it possible the captain took off in giant leap of faith maybe trusting a prevailing tailwind to make the range and no fuel for diversion? That's just unheard of. Watching this one closely

  5. They must have carried fuel for an alternate airport, that's normal procedure so why didn't they go there? There was no fire so must be a fuel issue.. It has happened once before in much larger jet where the fuel truck loaded the wrong conversion rate and the jet lost its engines and increably the pilot landed her safely by gliding alone. It's possible it may have happened again.. Pure speculation

  6. Just what was was needed. Maybe they will erect another on the opposite side of the street directly across from this one. This seems to be a trend now. Has anyone else noticed the McDonald's and KFC's directly across from each other in the city? No need to get a little exercise walking across the street to get junk food now.

It's the only sure sign of transitioning to first world country is coming.

  7. That is why I hate planes! They keep feeding us it is the safest way of traveling. In reality it is not! Tell this to the families of the deceased!

If you had any idea how many planes were in the sky this very second around the globe you're jaw would drop. It's by far even light years distance the safest way to travel. It's fact the deadliest part of a pilots job is his drive to the airport

Let's hope at least the survivors are not completely mangled.

RIP guys, their club, management, coaches completely wiped out

  8. One a month???? There are about 60 motorbike fatalities every day in Thailand, how many do you read about Sunshine?

Errrmm sunshine are you drunk? You may want to check my post again

Or you serious suggested motor bike statistics are some relevant lol

Back to bars I have never even seen a single westerner bashed by anyone in 10 years by other farang or Thai! and I do go to bars and since you don't you will have to take my word for it

Sent from my SC-01D using Tapatalk

  9. I do not frequent the bars, but from what I have read or heard, the bouncers  always look for excuses to beat Farangs up so their bosses will see them doing their jobs. If they just stand at the door talking and doing nothing else night after night, week after week then their bosses might just pay them off the save them money as they are already getting paid for doing nothing.
If I used the bars, I would only use the ones who did not employ bouncers, I know there are plenty of them as I have walked up and down Soi Cowboy and other bar areas.

If that a were the case you would read about 20 bashings a day and not the 1 a month.
Your logic is completely flawed, why would you think any bar owner would want to see customers bashed?
On the contrary, bouncers are doing there work just by standing there and being visible. Of course there are bad apples but that's the way of the world sunshine

  10. This is just sales patter from some brochure, the quoted rents are just a compilation of agents wet dreams.
as I said above I have direct experience of what the real achievable rents are in this building, based on the two units I help look after, and also based on numerous conversations with agents. The daily rental market maybe different, but for a landlord looking for long term quality tenants, achievable rents are nothing close to those quoted above.

Sorry but that's complete BS you know nothing about the building and YOU never set foot in it
And you believe the sales patter from agents now? AS long as they are your agents BAHAHAHA!
    Your a hypocrite

  11. I just pointed out the misinformation being spread. TV is the king of real estate misinformation and this thread was heading that way the same as a million others lol.

I would say to the op DO NOT under any circumstances take advice here, why? 95% of expats are cheap renters because you can not get any finance here and how many of them have 10 million in the bank? 000.1% I would guess

The staggering jump in realestate in Bangkok in the last 5 years is mind blowing, that should give you a clue also google Bloomberg's Bangkok article from last week, it jumped from 19th place for investment in Asia to 8th in one year! I would trust Bloomberg compared to TV, hang on is that even a choice lol

  12. Either ways (above 2 posts) in my book I divide the monthly rent by cost of purchase & 1:200 or less looks good, 1:200 above not so good [emoji4]

18,000 would be 1:300 which to me is buy to live in rather than to make money from rental & I know from experience/experimenting (including an AirBnB 1 month stint in Trendy) that I need a minimum of 50sqm to feel at "home".

No disrespect to any of the guys who stay in a place smaller than that, but I've tried out various sizes & smaller than 50sqm has me going out much more (more or less every night) so is a false economy.

How can it be false economy? The market sets the price, but don't go spreading misinformation since you just took a wild guess.

The HYDE Sukhumvit 13 is a luxury condominium located in Sukhumvit Soi 13 between the Nana and Asoke BTS stations. The building opened its doors in 2014; there are two towers, tower A with 20 floors and tower B with 40 floors. In the building you can find studios, one bedrooms, two bedrooms, three bedrooms and junior penthouses. The rental prices for the studios start around 28,000 THB, the one bedrooms from 35,000 THb, two bedrooms from 65,000 THB and 3 bedrooms from 80,000 THB.

Around the HYDE Sukhumvit 13 you will find many restaurants and shops. There is a Villa Market Supermarket next door; it is about a 5 minute walk to the Nana BTS station and about 8 minutes to the Asoke BTS station where you can also find the Terminal 21 Shopping M

  13. Zero chance of getting 30000 for 30sqm unit in that building, somebody dreaming;  more like 18000 if very well decorated!
i have 2 friends who are owner/landlords in that building, and in both cases I act as keyholder and deal with the agents,  I am fairly familiar with the achievable rents.

Dead wrong!! The trendy studios 35sqm are going for that in fact I have several long term friends there. And that building was a fraction of the price of Hyde

Don't talk BS and supply a link to your 18k LMAO!

  14. It seems that inflation has eroded the advantage Thailand had at one time.  To be sure the cost of living in Thailand does vary but in general I find that even outside of BKK the cost of living doesn't vary enough for me to pack up and move from America to a studio or 1bedroom condo in Thailand for 3 to 6 months of the year, let alone year round.  The cost of groceries is often more in Thailand and eating out is not significantly different.  I can buy a hotdog on the street in America for the same price as street/cart food in Thailand and have less chance of falling ill.  I can drink water out of the tap in my country and not fall ill either.  It seems Thailand is losing its advantage as a cheap retirement destination.

Don't be silly. Everyone came here for the street meat if you know what I mean and that is still the main reason why most are still here. No way you can compare that to your home country

  15. I'm still WAITING for the answers to two basic questions which nobody here can actually answer definitively. Is this new thing called an O-A visa? Will it replace O-A visas?

Get off your butt and go and ask yourself!! I will throw in your baht bus fee, pm you're bank account, but stop boring us with your drivel.

  16.  My Thai partner was at Jomtien Immigration today and he asked about the 10 year visa. He was told it was not going to be implemented any time soon and it would be an option, not a replacement for anything.

Exactly what I was told and reported here, but you can expect the jingy thing and NKM to be along in a flash and tell you that immigration wouldn't know but the low life fear mongers some how do
    Thanks for the report
