  2. Hi I'm looking for a leather shoe repairer in central Bangkok. Preferably around Silom or lower Sukhumvit. It's not a big job so someone cheap in a market or on the street would do Thanks in advance Bill
  3. Okay, my bad. First, I had contacted Apple and they told me I need to subscribe to get this option. Thanks, all my music is now synced Cheers
  4. Thanks but I know this. To use this function I need to subscribe to Apple Music. I'm looking for a free option to transfer music from my Mac to my phone. Or get free downloads from somewhere to my phone
  5. Hi, I have a MacBook Air M2 and an iPhone 12 Pro. I have a lot of music on my Mac and used to have it on my iPhone before Apple started to demand a subscription to keep it synced. Anyway, I can get music to my iPhone free as I used to?? Cheers
  6. …worried about all the above and maybe swapping out parts?
  7. Hi, I’ve got a MacBook Air M2 with water damage. I took it into the iCentre (authorised repair agent) in Central Rama 9 and they quoted me almost 30% more than replacement cost! Obviously now looking for a second opinion from a reputable service company. Can anyone recommend somewhere? I’m a bit wary of the small kiosks in MBK and Fortune Town. Should I be? Thanks for any help Bill
  8. …so to update, I will give my experience. I received my visa from the Thai embassy in Phnom Penh on Thursday I travelled Siem Reap to Bangkok today by bus, via Poipet border crossing. I was stopped by Thai immigration and asked to provide proof on onward ticket. I supplied a bus ticket out of Thailand back to Cambodia. I also had to provide a hotel booking. There were a couple of questions, where are you going in Thailand? And where will you be going after Thailand? I told them Chiang Mai, Phuket etc. Then told them I would be returning to Siem Reap (as per bus ticket out) Then travelling in S.E.Asia I was then stamped in for 60 days Proof of onward bus ticket is acceptable Bill
  9. That’s right. I don’t think busses cross the Ban Hat Lek border anymore. Sihanoukville to Trat route The embassy last week told me I can submit proof of bus tickets into and out of Thailand to obtain a visa last time I crossed that border back in March, I had no visa and was asked why I didn’t get one. A close call but they still let me in. This time I’ll have a visa i know there are no guarantees and a lot depends on immigration at the border on the day…still, if I get my visa on Thursday I’m reasonably confident I’ll be allowed to enter thanks for all the feedback, I appreciate it i’ll report back how I get on Cheers
  10. Thanks for all your replies If I’m issued with a visa next Thursday, i’ll then be attempting a border crossing at Poi-pet next Saturday I’ll let you know how it goes Cheers
  11. I’ll be crossing at Poipet I was stopped there last time by immigration and asked why I didn’t get a visa? They still let me in but this time I’ll have one (if I’m there)
  12. Thanks for all the answers i went to the Thai embassy here in Phnom Penh and they told me a bus ticket in and out is acceptable. I found a company that let’s you change the travel date once, up to 48 hrs before departure I looked at the dummy plane ticket but that gets cancelled after 48 hrs. I submitted my application yesterday (Fri 20th) and won’t get my passport back until next Thursday (26th) They also require 1 passport photo, bank statement, $40 (only $) Painless process at the embassy, hardly anyone there. Submit documents, mornings only between 9-11am Collection afternoons only between 3-4pm I’ll update if I get it cheers Bill
  13. Hi, I’m a Brit applying for a single entry tourist visa to Thailand at the embassy in Phnom Penh I have to provide proof of entry and exit from Thailand. I will be using the bus. My question is, when I submit all the documents can I provide a copy of a bus ticket that shows I will leave Thailand 90 days after entering? The visa will be for 60 days but can be extended once I arrive. Will they give me a 60 day tourist visa with a bus ticket to leave after the visa has expired? if anyone can help with this, thanks in advance Bill
  14. Is there an advantage flying into Chiang Mai rather than Bangkok?
  15. What would be my chances of taking a flight back to Bangkok rather than the bus and getting a permission to stay for another 30 days? Any ideas? Cheers
  16. Okay, my last evisa was obtained while I was back in UK for a month i didn’t know you had to be in your home country to get it though. I do recall a question on the form asking my present location but no info on where I can/can’t apply from i don’t want to lie on the form. I’ll be arriving by bus from Siem Reap! perhaps my best option then is in person from the Thai embassy in Phnom Penh?
  17. Possibly, but would have been at least 10 years ago if I did
  18. I'm a Brit who has been in and out of Thailand for the last 14 months. Mostly on a 30 entry stamps. Up until August '23 when I got a 60 day tourist evisa. I didn't extend it when it ran out on Sept 29, instead I came to Cambodia and I want to apply for another 60 day single entry tourist visa while I'm here, to re-enter Thailand on 28 October (I will have been out of Thailand for 1 month) My question is will they give me another tourist visa, considering my history? Thanks for any help Bill

  21. It's been over a month for me trying to deal with a messed up sleep pattern. I'm awake all night then finally get off to sleep around 6am and in bed until midday! Alcohol doesn't work for me. As soon as I stop I got back to the previous sleep pattern. I took some strong sleeping tablets here last time I was here which I bought over the counter but can't remember the name or the pharmacy! ????
  22. Thanks but it would need to be something stronger than Codiphen. I have tried that but didn't work. I bought some last year that were strong but can't remember the name Cheers
  23. Hi, what are the strongest sleeping pills I could buy in a pharmacy here without a prescription? I just need them for a few days to get me off UK time at bed time. Thanks
