  1. Thanks for all the info. Anyone with any experiences at Laksi Sq? Do i need to get there at sparrow fart? Does it take all day? 2. Hi, i'm a Brit here on a 30 day visa exempt until Sept. 15. I have some medical procedures. Can i apply for an extension of stay on Sept. 14? I know that would be cutting it a bit fine but is it allowed? Also, i used to have to go to Chaengwattana to do this, i'm in the Sathon area. Is that still the case? Thanks in advance
  3. I arrived last week on a 30 day visa exempt with Etihad from London (via Abu Dhabi) and wasn't asked for anything to board the flight except ticket, passport and proof of vaccination. I had no proof of onward flight
  4. Yes, this has always been my experience in the past with Thai immigration
  5. Thanks for the answer. Crazy thing is i tried to apply for a 60 day, single entry tourist visa online but the form is demanding Thai identity for the person who is inviting me. I will be staying in a hotel for the 1st seven days. I asked the hotel and they had never heard of that before, just proof of booking, which i uploaded. They sent me the manager's Thai identity card but wrote on it the date of the booking which is only for 7 days. After that i don't know where i'll be staying. The website was asking for a list of documents as long as your arm! Anyway, that 'Onwards Flights' website looks good. says they can send a ticket in 4 hours. Most checkins open 3 hours before a flight. How does that work? Cheers
  6. Thanks, yes i know they can ask for one. Just wondering if anyone has any recent experience Cheers
  7. Hi, I'm a Brit travelling LON-BKK on 17/08. Does anyone have experience of entering Thailand on Visa Exemption in relation to boarding a flight (Etihad) in home country and being asked for proof of onward flight, same at immigration in Suvarnabhumi? Not sure how much, if at all things have changed post covid TIA
  8. I've just opened accounts with Bitkub and Zipmex. I had trouble verifying my mobile number on both but received a message from Zipmex to await further news. Not knowing what they were talking about i found this... https://www.reuters.com/technology/southeast-asian-crypto-exchange-zipmex-suspends-withdrawals-amid-crypto-turmoil-2022-07-21/?fbclid=IwAR2fr1NGnHAi3qIZMgomeW_l6TpGMTtE9fwTBhuNaI9L5dHwG03QPdR87J0 ...July 21 (Reuters) - Southeast Asia-focused cryptocurrency exchange Zipmex has suspended withdrawals, the company said in a tweet on Wednesday night, with an executive of its Thai affiliate citing liquidity difficulties at crypto lenders Babel Finance and Celsius... Looks like they're in trouble
  9. Sorry for the delay in getting back here. I've been travelling Thanks and yes, i have a Bangkok Bank account. I'll look into bitkub, do i need proof of address in Thailand for their KYC? Cheers
  10. This is what i'm looking into. Which banking system is cheapest for sending money? Then i can do a comparison
  11. Yeah, crypto is full of scammers. There must be a large exchange used by Thais. I wouldn’t be storing anything on there just use it as a vehicle to ‘off ramp’ to my Thai bank account
  12. Hi, I’m looking at options to bring funds to Thailand for monthly living expenses. I have a cold wallet and I understand how to buy crypto and put it in my wallet but have no idea how I could ‘off ramp’ it, convert to Thai baht and put it in my pocket, cheaper than using traditional banking. Can someone explain how this is done? Thanks in advance Bill
  13. Hi, i'm a Brit over 60 and i've been searching but cannot find a comprehensive 'how to' to get the 'retirement visa' Is it best enter on a tourist visa and what steps are then necessary? Thanks for any help
  14. Hi, i'll be arriving Bangkok mid June and need to get an implant done, pretty straight forward procedure on a front tooth. Can anyone recommend a good dentist? I've used Bumrungrad before and been very happy but i think there's cheaper options out there Thanks
  15. I'm looking at Etihad, i have a lot of credit with them. They will provide a single itinerary with Vietnam Airlines and covid insurance is included in ticket price
  16. Hi, i'm a Brit looking to transit Suvarnabhumi to Ho Chi Minh in a couple of weeks. I've got all my vaccination certificates. Anyone know what else i need to have and do to get through? Thanks
  17. Thanks for the responses...someone's making money! ????
  18. Hi, the cheapest i've found via the Thailand Pass website is 4,100bht! (£95) for arrival in BKK I need the transfer, the room for 1 night (arrive after 1pm), test and result Anyone know of a cheaper option? Cheers

  20. I'm a Brit planning to fly Etihad: London, transit Abu Dhabi with a stop only in Hong Kong-Bangkok on 15/03. I have credit with Etihad or i would fly another airline. I know of the changes to entry restrictions due to come in on March 1st. I shouldn't have any trouble transiting Abu Dhabi but can anyone tell me if there are restrictions on passengers on a flight that only stops in Hong Kong before arriving in Bangkok? Thanks for any help
  21. All good points Jack and I will keep them in mind, cheers ???? But being the eternal optimist it’s probably the route I’ll take and hope it all works out ????
  22. Okay, thanks for the response Jack but leaving Thailand by plane for a neighbouring country for a few days or a week every now and then to get an extension wouldn't be an issue for me Cheers
