  1. Good to know! Yes, I extended at Lak Si before
  2. Thanks for all the help ????
  3. Thanks for the answers. Still a bit confused though, does that mean I can extend my current 60 day, single entry tourist visa?
  4. Hi I'm a Brit here on a 60 day single entry tourist visa. Earlier in the year, I entered Thailand two consecutive times on 30 day entry stamps and used up quota of 2 extensions allowed per year (as I understand it?) Does this mean I won't be allowed to extend my tourist visa at immigration? Thanks for any help
  5. ...then this a very new change in policy. I'd been using my UK bank card for small transactions up until today
  6. I went into my local 7-11 today to pay a bill for around 90thb and I was told I had to pay cash or there would be a surcharge for bills under 200thb on bank card. There's even a confirmation notice on the counter I have never encountered that before, is this now a thing? Cheers
  7. Thought I'd update this as it might help others applying for a Thai Tourist Visa, Single Entry online using the London Thai Embassy website I submitted the application before 9am (GMT) on Fri. July 21 and received it approved at 10pm (GMT) on Wed. July 26. That's 4 working days. I hadn't submitted proof of onward flight and where it asks for "Identity of the person inviting you to stay e.g. Thai ID Card, Passport" I wrote on a piece of paper that this was not applicable as I had a hotel booking which I had attached. I then took a photo of that and uploaded it I was very surprised I got it. Firstly, I wasn't sure I'd given myself enough time, I was flying LON-BKK early morning on Mon. 31 July and secondly, I hadn't provided proof of onward flight I'm very happy with the result! ????
  8. Thanks for all the answers. Shocking that a country like Thailand with a large tourism industry has such a Mickey Mouse online visa application form!. £30 and I have no idea if I'm going to get it!
  9. Thanks for the answers. I know I won't be asked to show onward flight to the airline if I have a visa but are you saying they will issue me a visa without proof of onward flight?
  10. Hi, I'm Brit applying for a Single Entry Tourist Evisa. The online form is asking for "Identity of the person inviting you to stay e.g. Thai ID Card, Passport" Trouble is no one is inviting me, I have a hotel booking which I have submitted elsewhere on the form. If I leave it blank it won't let me progress to the next page. Any ideas? Also, It just asks for "Travel booking confirmation" I have submitted proof of a flight into Thailand do I need to show a flight out? Thanks for any help
  11. Hi, i'll be applying for a Thai visa in a nearby country's Thai embassy. I need to show proof of an onward flight out of Thailand at the end of my stay. What's the best site to use for one of those tickets that you can then cancel at very little cost? Thanks in advance
  12. I spent time in Portugal two years ago as country opened up after covid. I was amazed at how beautiful the country is. It's historic, with great food and much cheaper than countries in 'northern' Europe...your euro goes further there! The weather is great too! Go and have a look then make up your mind...????
  13. Thanks, I take it there wasn’t a tax payer number on there either?
  14. Hi, i'm a Brit and will be applying for a Tourist Visa at the Thai embassy in Kuala Lumpur next month. The application form and requirements look pretty straight forward all except the requirement... Proof of payment for accommodation for the whole period of stay in Thailand (the receipt must state the tax payer number of the relevant hotel/accomodation (as stated on the embassy website) This doesn't leave much room for flexibility Is a booking okay? Not sure that will provide the tax payer number though. Is there a work around for this? Thanks in advance
  15. They won't need proof of onward ticket as they have a visa. Just show the visa at the airline checkin counter if asked. Immigration won't ask either
  16. Yeah, my bad. I remember last time i then extended for 30 days, which gave me 90 days total
  17. Since last August i've entered Thailand on an entry stamp 4 times, I've been to immigration twice to to extend my stay
  18. Very useful post. Thanks. A tourist visa can be for 3 months, Do they expect me to prove i've paid for hotels for a full three months in advance when i apply?
  19. I will do that if it helps. I’ll be returning into Don Mueang, Does it make a difference immigration wise between DMK or BKK? cheers
  20. Yes, makes more sense to me to go for a tourist visa in KL and cheaper too than keep flying in and out of Thailand for a visa exempt stay. Was just concerned the embassy might refuse a tourist visa application with my ‘history’ thanks for the reply
  21. Hi, i'm a Brit and i've had many trips to Thailand over many years. Always trouble free My issue is, i've been in and out of Thailand since last August on visa exempt and I've now used up all my extensions (2 per calendar year) I'm flying out to KL next month and will be away a month. I will apply for a Thai tourist visa while i'm there. Due to the fact i've been in and out on visa exempt for the past 9 months do you think i'll have trouble getting a 3 month tourist visa? Thanks for any advice
