I had a look at this last week. I might be wrong but it seemed to me that you could only use it by changing foreign currency at one of their exchanges and then loading the money on the card. Means tourists would have to arrive with large amounts of cash to make it worth while

I feel for the tourists. With Thailand competing for travellers and neighbouring counties cheaper now this increase can't help tourist numbers. Not sure about Laos and Cambodia but Vietnam and Malaysia it's possible withdraw cash from an ATM free of charge.

Not sure I understand your point. There's always money in my Wise account.

Gotta say, this is what I do. Transfers from. Wise too my Bangkok Bank account now take 24hrs. They used to be instant but no problem, just remember to send 24hrs before you need it. In my opinion it's not worth the hassle of opening another bank account just for this minor irritation

Hi, I have a niece coming to travel around Thailand. I've heard about Kasikorn Bank's travel card for tourists. (TAGTHAI Easy Pay) Apparently the advantages are avoiding hefty ATM withdrawal charges, easy to top up from an overseas bank account and ability to use QR codes for payment while she's here. I have a couple of questions though: 1. Are there any charges to set one up? 2. Are the exchange rates competitive when adding money from an overseas bank account? Thanks for any info

Hi, I received a link in a private message from someone who's not in my contacts (an admin who's known to me) in response to my request to join a WhatsApp group. After a little web research I'm told all I need to do is click on 'Join Group' but there's no invite to join the group. There's just the link. I'd ask the admin but there's no response due to time differentials at the moment and I need immediate access Any ideas? Cheers

I have occasionally seen the police on the MRT and the BTS but think they're just getting from A to B. Don't understand why the OP thinks they're necessary. In all the years I've been using the MRT and BTS I've never seen a problem...does get a bit overcrowded at times though 😉

Hi, I've joined a UK based WhatsApp group on my iPhone with a UK SIM. I need to join the group again with another number, (not using a Thai SIM) still keeping my membership of the group with the UK SIM number. Basically, two memberships of the same WhatsApp group with different numbers. How to do this in a cost effective manner? Challenge for any of you techies out there! Thanks for any advice Bill

Hi, I'm flying to BKK to Hong Kong next month with carry on baggage only. I want to take my electric toothbrush but I've heard they can be confiscated due to the pointed tong that holds the brush. Anyone with any info? I could contact the airline but it's not them that decides, it's security. Thanks

I messaged Jacks and they answered, FULL. I ended up going on to Thaksin Bridge. It was very busy but doable. They closed the road which gave everyone more space to spread out. I got some great video from there
