  1. Greeting, I will be in Koh Chang during the month of May. I have two deadlines within 10 days. First , a 90 day report on the 19th. Is there an immigration in trat that can do this? Second, my one year Ed visa is up on the 29 th. Is it possible to do a border run to Cambodia on the 28th and get a 15 day extension? This buys me enough time to get back to Chiang Mai for the 1 year Ed renew. Ideas and logistics appreciated.

    Thanks.

  2. KRS1, thanks for the restaurant tip. When growing up in Brooklyn New York many many many years ago, my family would go out for Chinese food almost every Sunday (although sometimes we'd substitute Nathan's hot dogs in Coney Island).

On the table at the Chinese restaurant would be combination plates with chicken chow mein and pork fried rice, orders of egg rolls with fiery mustard for dipping and BBQ spareribs with a sweet sauce. If the crowd was large enough there would be additional dishes, among them sliced roast pork, cashew chicken, and shrimp in lobster sauce. The meal usually began with either egg drop or wanton soup. And for dessert, fortune cookies.

Will definitely check out Shanghai-Lo--I cut through Harbour Plaza on my weekly trip to Rimping at Maya for KK's round wholemeal bread.

How about moo shue pork with plum sauce and real egg foo young?

  3. I try to compare apples to apples and oranges to oranges. There is the Dukes and several others in that category. Then there is the Gecko and several other in that category. Have no idea what category a beet root burger would fall into. I do know there is no comparison between the other two categories yet they are both great burgers although very different.

    Good point.
  4.

Wife & I finally got there a week or so ago & it was very good indeed.

We both had the mango beet burger, Not the giant one as the price was only 150 I think ?

Anyway so very filling & delicious.

I have to admit when the subject of Beet & Mango on a burger came up here I could not imagine how it would taste

But it is very good :)

We both loved it & will definitely go back next time we need a burger.

He's i couldn't agree more. I got by there today and also had the mango and beet root burger. Fantastic! Everything was fresh and the bun was perfect size. 150 bht plus 30 for fries.......sorry Dave , dukes has just been relegated to 2 nd spot in best burger in CM category .

My feeling is, why would your have to rate a burger compared to The Duke's. Great burger at The White Plate. Leave it at that. I do not know the owner of The White Plate but I think he loves/hates this thread. Suffice to say that everyone should try it. Great promotion. The Duke's is doing American Angus burgers bla...bla...bla... American Angus compared to New Zealand beef? Better try it.

Because you sir, are the bench mark standard for me when it comes to western food in Chiang Mai. Notice I said for ME!

  5. cant figure out where that is.. does anyone have a phone number?? or even google map coordinates?

I think he is on FB.......easy to find though. Gaew narawT to middle ring rd. cross and samyak market is on your left.....after market 20 meters or so take a left.......1 k on your left past the big temple you will see a sign with " today's specials". Big.

Very good food and worth a tire kicking.

  6. passed it the other day. was surprised, maybe even shocked to see so many falangs in that part of Sansai. place was packed - all falangs. sometimes days go by and i never see a falang in that area. thought it was a convention until i realized it was a restaurant. i know it's not very helpful but even though i've lived in the area for 10 years i don't know the name or number of the road. all i can offer is if you are heading North into Sansai from where the Sansai market is (making a left at the market when on Kaewnarawat), look to your left about 200? meters. if you hit the road where Tesco Lotus mini-mart is on the left corner, then you have gone too far.

Almost correct. More like 1 kllo up on the right side heading out to the 3rd ring road. Past the big temple about 500 meters. Yes the food is awesome. I am told that Gung and Tory are not knew to this. They ran successful operation in Hua Hin. If you pass the green pt gas station on the left, you have missed it by 50 meters.

Free buffet every Wednesday is a nice mid week treat.

how could they have a free buffet?

Food is free on the table. What ya gonna wash it down with?

  7. One only wonders how stupid these people really are? Just keep crippling the country every day because they can't get their way. I was filing paperwork for marriage but guess what thanks to Suthep and his undemocratic party no one is getting paperwork done unless they go in person. The lady told my future wife they have 1000's of envelopes waiting to be picked up by the agency that handles the paperwork not 10's not 100's 1000's. These <deleted> should be fired and replaced. Don't want to work then you should not get paid. Want to make your job political then get fired. They pay people to do a job not have an opinion. How much more do they want to drag Thailand down? They get their way Thailand is run by the elites and the rest of the country reacts. The cops need to clear these idiots out of every vital area enough is enough already. Something tells me people like Suthep are only going to be happy with Thailand becomes Syria.

I sympathize with you and the thousands of others that have submitted paperwork to be done which is of great importance. However, if I was one of those employees that were working in one of the areas that I may be shot or maimed or even killed on my way to work because of the protests, barricades or whatever. I would stay home too.

They could have and should have had the paperwork sent to a safe area or environment with the employees to carry on with the submitted paperwork.

I agree and do not think these people should be put in danger but there comes a time when the "elected" government needs to step up and do something about the disruption. Its not only the people getting married who are suffering from nobody working its the entire system. Chiang Wattana is not only immigration it is many things. How many countries in the west are going to let Federal buildings get occupied and held hostage over 100 days(In the states we call that Congress)? There comes a time when common sense and what is good for the majority needs to happen. I don't even bother reading the comments on most of these posts because its the same 10 idiots parroting the same thing they said in the other 500 posts. We are not Thai(or at least I am not) I am just championing the idea of "get your sh*t together Thailand before you become Cambodia"

" in the states we call that congress". Hahahahahahah

Been meaning to try the burger there. Maybe this week...

The smoked, slow-cooked burger from 3 Little Pigs is excellent too. I like the burgers there better than the Dukes. I think the cheeseburger is about 250 Baht and comes with potato salad and I think another salad and appetizer. Don't go if you are in a hurry as it takes a good 30 minutes for the burger to cook.

Yeeees. As is his pulled pork sandwich .

  12. Wife just voted and the copper on duty told her that sutep had been shot. <deleted>. I dont see any news on this. Was he trying to gage her responce to see which way she will vote. Why would he say this to her just before she votes?

    Posted A minute ago

RT@Lerlaforever: Suthep: If u want to go to vote, go ahead, just don't go with lighting candle as it's still day time.

Not exactly sure what ur trying to say. One should be able to vote if they choose without any INTIMADATION from the official on duty. This was just that. Total BS to get the voters to think ......what?
