  1. And you paid 6000 ฿ for this?

Is your wifes hospital in Beijing?

You would have to pay me 60000 to board an unsecure coach with 30+ crazed nurses and one senile driver for a nighttrip through 1/2 Thailand.

Why didn't you drive yourself and look for your own accommodation?

It sure would have been cheaper, safer and less nerve wrecking.

Regarding the filthy tubes the nurses would not hesitate to put in their mouths, gave me something to think about...

  2. ...The one where the lady is notoriously hostile on Thepprasit will do the work and I have found that she has a better selection than NumChai but because members have found her to be a bit surly on occasions its a bit of a lottery whether she will allow her mechanic to do the work for you, try the Thai way of smiling and being a little backward in coming forward and maybe she will be OK with you

Having said that I often shop there and have never had a problem with her at all, finding her not all over you but possibly a bit direct because her English is not the best in the world.

Couple that with the fact that she has to deal with so many overbearing and loud mouthed ExPats...

The "mechanic" is her husband; bicycle riders are "difficult" customers, worldwide... i know what i speak about... i only speak to her in Thai and it doesn't change her attitude, actually, i think she is perfect in the job she does... overbearing and loud mouthed ExPats... you should change ExPats into LycraLouds...
  3. you have the best weapon at hand in your security guards kit. A whistle.''

Get hold of it( the whistle) and when one of these low life callers starts you put the whistle in to your mouth right next to the phone and give it the best blast you can.

The pain the caller feels and the temporary deafness will almost guarantee you won't be bothered by that caller again.

This advice is based on advice given many a year back by one of my W.P.C,s to ladies who received heavy breathing phone calls.

    Simple but effective.

But be careful when they call back again...

  4. How do i deal with it?

    - not beeing a fat blob

    - exercise a lot (for "wanted" sweating and all the other benefits)

    - stay in the shade

    - avoid caffeine

    - avoid alcohol (drugs and nicotine as well)

    - avoid spicy food

    - use aircon/fan

    - take showers

    - wear light clothes

    - wear shades ( it relaxes your facial muscles as well)

    - wear open shoes, no socks

    - dont wear jewellery, watch

    - wear button shirts, not T-shirts

    - use towels, caps, hats, umbrellas, hand fan

    - carry a handkerchief to dry your sweaty face

    - touch a cold glass/bottle with my inner wrists, or lift it to my carotid artery

    - retire to my car (and open the aircon/stereo)

    - mai ben rai, chai yen yen, avoid stress, anger, arguments...

    - move slowly

    - lay on hard flat surfaces (stone, wood) on (nearly) floor level

    - avoid soft sofas, cushions

    - avoid (sun) creams, lotions, deos, perfume, who close your skin pores

    - have a Thai massage

or just bear it... i wear the same clothing in the temperature range 0°C - 50°C, always funny to meet friends and relatives in good old Europe for Christmas, they walking in their coats, me coming from Thailand with my sunny attitude in my shirts and shorts...

  5. Unfortunately, you always need to pay at the police station who busted you. With the ticket send to the car owners adress you should take the postal route, even if it happens that you know/ are near the issuing police station.

If you pay cash at the police and the officer "forget" to register your payment, it could be that when your yearly car tax is to be due, you have to pay the fine again before they allow you to pay the tax...

  6. Better educated Buddhists don't believe in reincarnation (or ghosts), but the doubtful hope to be reborn in the west...

Hmm, never heard that before. But that doesn't mean it's not true. Just like disbelief in reincarnation doesn't mean it's not a fact. I happen to believe in reincarnation, but who cares? Only me. Slightly off topic: I was born a "Christian," so they told me, but I'm not one.

therevada buddhism doees not teach reincarnation. It teaches Rebirth. A significant difference

    What is the difference?
Reincarnation = rebirth of a "Soul", like the Dalai Lama for example

Rebirth = "you", your "soul" is dead, but "you" are reborn without remembering any former existences, more like a physical law

  7. ...She wrote in her profile that she was a seller of underwear at the market(s)...

Maybe you should change your stance towards her; I once spoke with a lady selling underwear in pradu naam and she told me, that the rent for her shop was 120 000 ฿ per month...

  8. Where you visiting your mia noi in Lopburi?

These speeding tickets can be a pain in the arsė... normally the whole process is done by the postie, dont know why he did not do it for you... go back there with all the written evidence maybe you find someone more competent.

    It should be like this:

The small white receipt is for you.

Envelope nr.1 with the address from the police station who busted you.

Envelope nr.2 with your address on it.

Paper with the photo of your numberplate, green receipt and envelope nr.2 goes into envelope nr.1 and send to that police station.

In return said police station will send you a confirmation of receipt in envelope nr.2.

If you dont like the confirmation of receipt send to your home address write the address from a friend or your workplace on envelope nr.2...
