Better look at the photo again, limit is indicated as being 80 10 meters after the 60 sign. Increase in maximum speed just before a U-turn?

They even admitted incorrect signs some time ago, Thai road design and signs are not clear, even worse, a contributing factor to accidents.

    Yup 80 is correct.

Displays always incorrect. Driving 100 ist shows 120.

It's only for show and budget sucking.

Many have shut down and don't have the money to start again, so will stay permanently shut.

Some areas here looking like ghettos, and a collapse of business like this is extremely difficult to "restart".

Isn't that what we see already the last years and now with a booster?

Sad but this slogan reflects it good. Why do we need many different small optic shops when we only can have topcharoen shops?

I guess on the beach road we can see the future. Erase 50 small businesses and build 1 for the big boys.

The good times are long gone at the end of the 90' but it's not all bad what's going on in the background. We will see the facts in the high season.

it is always darkest just before dawn.

There is allot of pentup demand for holidays around the world.

The thai gov has taken an extremist approach to the lockdown, but they know they need to significantly loosen travel restrictions soon.

Thai resident travellers and Chinese, Taiwanese, Koreans, and ANZ will be the first permitted back to Phuket in the next month or so. Followed soon by many European countries who seem to have the kungflu under “control”.

May be a little while longer until they permit large gatherings/groups at clubs, sports, cinema.

I suspect that fall 2020 should look fairly similar to fall 2019 in Phuket.

The “good times” will definitely come back.

I'm with you about most points but we need to wait for high season.

As i said in march when the big boys with the deep pockets got what they want and the change of power here on hkt is arranged then they will open it and we are back in business in some month.

Why should only the europeans start to travel alone in juli?

If I were you I’d go look for myself because if you read what they say on here they have you believing that everything is closed and it’s not. My area is a great example because very little has closed contrary to what they report on here. I believe very little of what I read online especially after COVID 19!

    Hmmm.....i don't believe you.

    Ouch!

Did everyone just buy water from the trucks then, or did the gov't step up and do something?  How'd the wells do up there?

Dry...our, neighbors and mubaan wells are dry and no gov tap water.

2 times per day they pump a water truck tank full of water into the gov water pipe. That's all what you get for some minutes but it's better then in february were we had absolutely no water for 2 weeks.

Thanks Schlog, I will have to get down there quickly, probably tomorrow now, as I do like that wine, however there may be a catch.......if you look at the label, next to the price, it says "Negroamaro Puglia", and the Negroamaro grape/wine does not fetch the premium price that Primitivo does, so it seems as though they may have mispriced it!!!!

Will definitely stock up on a few bottles in that case!

Yup i also saw that but didn't had a second thought. I guess for both same 585 baht price like always in makro or tops both i muri priced same with 749 baht.

    Good hunting tomorrow.
