Thai culture is an anger based society with everyone getting off with any single and simple issue. Just listen to local news. -

Tourism Ministry Launches ‘Thailand Trusted Destination’ Campaign
smew replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Confusion and more confusion, when will they stop these ridiculous ideas or renaming same approach, get off your high horse and smell the morning coffee. Thailand is not the destination that tourists will sacrifice weeks of life in quarantine -
Gents, simply put it , an insurance scam. Had similar situation: second covid test inconclusive and hotel wants to send me to hospital, requested second test was denied. Refused to go to hospital. Later found out hotel gets referral fee of approx 6000 baht, simple case of revenues

Gents, without writing an essay here, Thailand introduce new rules, regulations guidelines on an effort to make it simpler without realizing that maybe people are tired of Thailand for any its confusions for now. Immigration departments love it as every new rule is an opportunity to make more under the table

My issue is as such : passport from a green country, but work in a country that is not on the green list. So, 7 days in ''Blue Zone Sand Box'' area with restricted movement . As per rules: can move around but not leave the designated blue zone area: must have a hotel for 7 days as per guidelines. However, I have a house in Blue zone area.. Why can't I stay in my house and save few baht?: NO !!! not allowed.

As Thailand reopens, signs of economic recovery are visible

In a funny way, My Mother used to say, don't confuse me with facts my mind is made up. Is TTA being funny!?? Majority of arrivals are expats who have households or living in Thailand. An average traveler will not dish out and extra +/- 500$ for med insurance -
As always, too many hoops to jump through, Thais still believe tourists will suffer just to come and visit them and give them money bcs they want to stay in a country without being entertained. Most people coming back are expats living in Thailand, and it will dry up soon... This high season is also gone and blamed on covid instead of being ''credited'' to decision makers in BKK. Seems these people are trying to outdo each other and come up with never ending rules and hoops for us to jump... Open all and all venues. Continue vaccinations. Arrivals : 48 or 72hr test before arrival, test on arrival and collect address in Thailand + passport # plus other contact details..

I am forced to be in a sand box area hotel for for 7 days(30K baht) but I live in Thailand have visa and have a house in sand box area,,, So, why am I not being allowed to stay in my house for 7 days before travelling anywhere else in Thailand ?..... -

Thailand pass confusion: live in Thailand , family in Thailand a passport from 63 listed country, but work in a country that is not on the 63 list. While coming back, must take a covid test at a transit airport in country that is not on the list( Turkey) and lay over longer than 12hrs. So ''blue sand box''... can leave hotel and eat outside even meet my family after the first night/day and a negative test. However, come back to hotel( 30K baht scam), but I have a house in Thailand within the specified blue zone sand box area. As per definition, must return to hotel... absurd

Thai tourism bureau wants to sprint now to increase visitor numbers, but they shot themselves in the foot with all the: registrations, restrictions, demands and ever changing regulations. People realized there are other places to visit and live without hoops. Reality will kick in in few months. And hope Thais will get down to earth and get off their high horse stop dreaming that their country is and always will be in such great demand.

Over 90,000 apply to enter Thailand in 6 days since reopening
smew replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Selected scams: came here in May (family lives here), 14 day quarantine, on 7th day covid test inconclusive: wanted to ship me to hospital (insurance scam)for additional 14 quarantine: insisted on an independent test with another provider: test negative. Then found out hotel gets 6000baht for hospital referrals. -

Thai are great with math, aren't they? Unbelievable, Government Spokesman Thanakorn must re-take grade 5-7 math. 30K per month is only a 1% not 10% as reported. -
Good attempt at revamping, but: Few tourists, mostly people who live there. I have no options, my family lives in Thailand. If not because of them, I would not consider Thailand for my vacation destination. Simply too many hoops to jump, quarantine of one day, expensive 150USD testing with inconclusive results that will force you stay in quarantine hotel longer( a scam between testing people and hotel operators) and restaurants / bar restrictions and curfew hours. Regulations that very from area to area. A 10 POSITIVE tests in 13.51 Present covid test on arrival and open the borders.

Nearly 2,500 travellers enter Thailand on first day of full reopening
smew replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
With the hoops that need to be jumped, and the checking and the processing will be a nightmare mixed with confusion laced with Thai anger. It must be streamlined or the line up ques they will be out to the tarmac. During COE requirements for entry, and only few hundreds daily arrivals the ques were 45 minute long... now ??? Departure testing, yes, agree. Eliminate testing on arrival and this absurd one night at quarantine hotel...is the only way tourists will come back... -
Thailand entry rules for vaccinated and unvaccinated tourists

Airlines bid for time slot to land at airports. In Thailand 80% of landing allocated tmes have been returned until end of March. Meaning airline do not have to pay for them . -

more hoops to jump through... seems Thai think people will com here no matter what... look at the airline landing spot: 80% returned to airports... obviously Thai can not interpret trend data that is right in front of them...
