Utter and complete tosh. The PR Dept of the RTP is the only one doing any 'work' seemingly.

Great. "Diversity" in areas like air traffic control, aircraft maintenance, etc..

Yep. It's sometimes hard to fathom just how nuts some Thais are about their (fake) lineage and ancestry.
We have a few amongst our staff at work. Completely brainwashed from an early age. 🤪

Yes, many of us would choose to jump out of a plane, as the jet is barreling down the runway taking off.
Maybe watched too many James Bond / Jason Statham movies?

The "Sex on the Beach" cocktail buckets sold everywhere obviously planted a seed here.

I'm sure the obligatory wai from the driver to the Japanese guy will happen for the TAT press photographers.
A couple of days later, your salt-of-the-earth cabbie will return a full wallet of money / lost Rolex to it's ditzy tourist owner. Hoorah!

Obsession with the vapid and inane? They aren't allowed to talk about anything else.

There are a lot of unmarked crossroads East of Rayong, especially roads going to the beach. Caution required..
Usual suspects: SUV Emperors + delivery van morons = carnage ensuing.

Always happy to give Songkran the swerve, and visit UK / friends overseas during April. My 12yo son doesn't even know what Songkran looks like, tbh.

What tourism concerns? They were just saying how great it was going to be this year. While you’re at it, perhaps also point out how ridiculously expensive (after tax) alcohol is here—look at Vietnam and Cambodia for ideas—and also worth mentioning the horrible monopoly on beer and the extortionate wine tax. Addressing those issues will surely bring in more tourists. 😉
Spot on. Probably the worst selection of 'beers' in all of Asia.
If you want to buy alcohol outside of the ridiculous time zones here, just use your local mom n pop shop. Simples.

I think that this is more about lack of swimming skills.
No amount of tweaking will fix that.
There are a few beaches on the East coast from Rayong that are infamous for 'riptides', including Mae Rumphung, and Koh Chang. People drown there every year, unfortunately.
Has anyone heard the same about Koh Samet?

Was he wearing the mushroom tied to a necklace? Why, how...would the police search him?
They knew he had it as they probably sold it to him in the first place.
Nice to know this dangerous drugs czar / kingpin is off the streets though, eh?

Ah well, he died doing something he loved. (And didn't take anyone with him).

Additionally, he anticipates Thailand's cooperation in transitioning to clean energy and desire to see strengthened facilitation of investment between the two countries. This is particularly relevant in supporting the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between the European Union and Thailand, with the aspiration to see this agreement materialize soon.
Germany's "transition to clean energy" now has them buying coal-fired power from France, as they can't produce enough juice for their own people and industry..
And sat on their hands and said nothing when the US blew up their Nordstream pipelines.
Thailand should give this guy a wide berth.

Many Thais are fixated on gold. Nothing like trying to spook the market into buying. They weren't telling people to "act" in the last few weeks when it was as low as 33,500 for gold bar (jewellry and ornaments lower).
Glad I bought last year when it was much lower. I'll not be buying more (nor selling) as gold for me is a safety net in case there's a collapse in the banks.
Yep, a long term investment and maybe hedge against a financial crash.

Right now, Germany and it's utterly inept "green" government should not be lecturing anyone about energy (renewable or otherwise) or "sustainable" farming.

Is Thailand the hub for anything?
Of course there is the nightlife, but I don't remember if that was ever promoted.

Anyone remember "Get vaccinated and you won't get sick"? Or, "Get the shot and you can visit grandma"? They've changed the goalposts so often that a huge percentage of the people don't trust them. And probably won't for years.
Exactly. Mandated shots from companies like Pfizer (who paid the largest ever criminal damages fine in history), Moderna (who had never brought a vax to market before), and the only immunity granted by these shots is to the manufacturers, for any injuries caused by these one-size-fits-all 'products', rushed to market despite there never was a successful viral "coronavirus" vaccine ever developed before 2020.
The only excess deaths worldwide have been since 2021. Go figure.
