I stayed at Kacha hotel, great buffet right on the beach.
Yeah, always liked the Kacha resort. The bungalows on the beach are excellent for the price.
The OP should note (as pointed out by other posters) that the island gets a tremendous amount of rainfall from now 'til December, and sometimes roads get closed due to mudslides, fallen trees, etc.

Seems like just a ruse to introduce digital currency to the Thai population. Similarly to the Chinese system, it is used to control people and limit movement, protest, etc.

Erm, it was a Mitsu Triton pickup.. Being driven at high speed by a complete moron.
Ah well, at least the local soi dogs and cats will enjoy the clean-up.

More climate change nonsense, how does the possibility of it being slightly hotter or wetter stop the ill from getting to hospital or accessing health care?
It doesn't. But obviously Thailand has signed some deal / trade agreement with the "United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) " who are pushing this b0ll0cks.

Always the same price and supporting traditional Thai businesses.
Mind you, do not ask me about Waitrose raspberry jam from Tops. Price increase of 100 baht per jar. (129 to 229 baht!)
Yes, there are some good local producers at relatively cheap prices. Forget about famous 'brands' and source local if possible.

Their only offence seems to have been impersonating a police officer otherwise they have copied the actions of some RTP perfectly.
Probably the giveaway was a semblance of professionalism.?

Pretty funny to see the Keystone Cops different factions and shady business interests all fighting amongst themselves for power and position..
It would be even better to see the mickey mouse military doing the same, but they're all nicely provided for already, thank you very much. Courtesy of the tax-payer.

The levels of fitness involved must be challenging.

A lot of small businesses forced to close down during Covid restrictions popped up again as weed shops.
It's not like the robber baron Junta "government" gave them any compensation, is it?

Neeson seems permanently stuck in "vigilante" mode since the "Taken" franchise. Protecting his family from the bad guys, etc., etc. *yawn*

I don't mind the smell of fish sauce. Combined frying with basil it can launch a fit of sneezing though.
The smell of pla ra on the other hand is horrendous to these nostrils. I've banned it in the house, forcing the missus to covertly sneak it and eat it in a spare room, like she's doing drugs or something. ????

A 33% increase, that's sure to draw in lots of foreign company investment in Thailand. NOT.
I'm sure this won't affect the status or income of the massive immigrant (legal or otherwise) workforce here.

I'm certainly going to go and try his beef wellington. I've seen how he cooks it on YouTube and it looks absolutely delicious.
If you live anywhere near Pattaya, the Cafe Des Amis version is excellent.

I suppose "Virgin Galactic" is an EV ?

Locals did nothing for years except calling a celebrity to intervene.
Yep. Says a lot about a society that relies more on a social media "influencer" to try and get something done, than a laughingly-monikered "police force".

At present, the company operates 2,500 buses (comprising 2,017 EVs and 483 NGV buses) across 123 routes, authorised by the Department of Land Transport, Ministry of Transport. In addition to enhancing public transportation, the company has also provided employment and improved the quality of life for over 3,000 staff members.
So is the taxpayer is shelling out for this ?

Invest in Thailand?! LOL Not on your life! I wouldn't trust one dime of my money being invested in a country with an unstable government (18 Coups and 18 constitutions and counting). If you got money you don't care about, sure, gamble if you dare.
Coups are against people (and a semblance of democracy), not corporations and investors.
The teflon Baht is a good illustration.

They really need to do something about the price of unleaded petrol. That seems to keep climbing up so now more people are buying vehicles that use diesel.
The entire inland transport infrastructure on this country still runs on diesel; trucks, trains, ships, etc. Raising prices of derv would cut into a lot of GDP.

Thailand doesn't get into wars, but they do get into battles from time to time with Cambodia...
Just pre-arranged 'skirmishes' on the border. Useful for raising jingoistic pride amongst the populace, and justifying massive 'defense' budgets.

I am pre-diabetic and try to completely avoid sugar in my diet. Restaurants here in Pattaya make that difficult.
One high-profile Norwegian restaurant uses sweetened condensed milk in their scrambled eggs. Another popular
restaurant, owned by an Australian, sprinkles sugar on French Fries. You can’t reason with them because they deny
using sugar in their recipes. Has anyone else noticed this???
Maybe move this thread to the Pattaya page, as I would imagine there is more advice on where to eat, or shops that sell whole foods without the usual ultra-processed cr@p inherent in most outlets..

As Thailand's seas are apparently too shallow to deploy submarines in the first place, isn't all this just a charade to gift China these machines to reverse-engineer.?
Otherwise, what an absurd and complete waste of money.
