  1. the current skywalk under the bts line is great, east to walk along and gets you places, looks like they're just extending that.

Plenty of Thai's walking on it everday, it only goes for about 2km currently, but more of this would be a great improvement.

Have you people not seen the thousands of Thais in the Lumpini park at sunrise and sunset, they WALK and EXERCISE... just not in the SUN.

Hard to see these things from a barstool

Yes, I have certainly seen a lot of farangs sitting on a barstool with their beer watching the sun rise. Walking and Exercising.....ehh...not so much

  2. Nothing like a good walk above smog filled streets to clear ones head.

Sounds like a good opportunity for a bunch of vendors to set up selling gas masks and oxygen tanks. They will join the food carts and trinket sellers. So it will be just like being down on the street. Only harder to breathe. Great idea.

  3. I walked in and stood near the door for about 30seconds to give my eyes time to adjust and decide if I want to sit down for a drink. The whole time there is a farang guy sitting by the door watching me. He comes over, puts his hand on the back of my shoulder and says "if you don't want to buy a drink get out". Then he shoves me towards the door. Before I could even process <deleted> this was all about he turns and walks away. He did not have a drink or a checkbin and judging by the reaction of the thai staff that saw this I am convinced he was affiliated with the bar. I posted this info on Pattaya-addicts.com and a bunch of the bar owners that shill...errr hang out on that site jumped to their defence. Trying to claim it was probably some customer. A customer in Pattaya sitting in a bar watching the door with no drink or checkbin???? Ok whatever! Oh, and apparently there is no such thing as bad brit bar owners in Pattaya.

Anyways. The handle I used to report the incident on pattaya-addicts eventually got banned. No big surprise there. Living Dolls Showcase actually advertises on there now so that pretty much tells you all you need to know about that site.

I'll never go in there again and will tell everyone I know to never go in there. I talked to some expats about this and none of them seem all that impressed with the place anyways. Gotta luv (ie. hate) Pattaya during high season. We are all just more raw meat for the grinder. The bar owners, farang or thai just see $ signs then sit around crying during low season when the expats they need to rely on more don't give them any of their business.

  4. This article begins with US Embassy; as if they care or would do something!

They completely ignored me when I went to them to report 30+ ATM withdrawals that wiped out my savings- over $10,000 stolen. Not 1 investigation both US and Thailand authorities!

    Totally worthless organization!

It too 30 withdrawls before you noticed something? Rrrrright.....LOL!

  5. Although Bangkok has been rattled by a number of minor blasts since rallies by anti-government protesters in April and May, it was not clear if the latest incident, at around 5pm (1000 GMT), was politically motivated.

"We still don't know if it was a conflict between students or something else. Someone threw a grenade on to a minibus," Police Lieutenant Colonel Montri Kongjumpa, of eastern Min Buri district's police station, told AFP.

"We're now waiting for the explosive specialists to investigate the scene, but initially there is one person dead and eight injured," he added.

The Reds deny any involvement and have accused the authorities of a plot to justify tougher security powers.

I love that part. Government and police do not know any details as yet, but the REDS already blaming the government

Nobody, including the reds, have directed any blame for this tragedy -- stop trying to troll for responses by taking one section of an article totally out of context.

Say something constructive, like " our best wishes to the family of the deceased and to the injured for a speedy recovery ".

In fact, according to the news article, the reds HAVE accused the authorities.

Yawwwnnn, the reds will slowly get worked up again, start another protest of some sort, someone stupid enough to appear as an organizer/leader will emerge in public and promply be shot in the head. All the Thaksin lemmings and organizers will then once again run off to Issan and hide. Rinse, repeat!

  6. The answer is, just be very wary when choosing a Thai girlfriend or wife.

In most cases it`s could, maybe, possible or I`m not sure. Finding out the the hard way if the crap hits the fan can cost you dear.

Just tread carefully out there and do not dive in at the deep end too quickly.

Equally blatantly obvious advice would have been look both ways before crossing the street.

  7. "for sure" in Thailand can mean a BIG maybe

How many of us have had the "I do on Monday for sure, jing jing" only to have a no-show come Mon, Tue, Wed......

lol, I had the balcony repainted during christmas. They came and ripped away the christmas lighting I'd spent 4 hours installing two days earlier. Then they painted HALF the balcony and then had to go and get more paint.

Still waiting for 'em to come back so I can put back the christmas lighting...

Why would you spend 4 hours putting up christmas lights on a Balcony you were about to get painted?

  8. Yes Thailand is a much better place for low class whoremongering men, congrats on finding nirvana. :) However FYI there are also plenty of Thais and Farangs in Thailand that have higher moral standards than that.

Which would explain all the 'higher moral standards' Thai brothels and hourly motels with discreet parking all over the place. :D

  9. News flash, a young famous rich guy with a dick was cheating on his wife. What an outrage. Who'd a thunk!

Granted, he was <deleted> crazy to settle down so young anyways but lifestyles of the rich and famous is not something I can relate to anyways.

So I gotta listen to the news media sympathizing with cocktail waitress hood rats who are upset that they were not the only mistress. Saying totally unbelievable stories that they had no idea he was married and they would have NEVER got into the relationship if he wasn't so persistent in pursuing them. Oh yea that makes sense. Why would these women want to sleep with a young famous rich guy unless he practically forced them to. That's EXACTLY the way it works!

    sigh!!!!!!!!

Then they go on and on about how he's just such a bad person and not the way a good man behaves. So all men gotta hold their head down in shame because see....if Woods would do it that implys all guys are capable of that and we are all scum for even thinking that way.

GIVE ME A <deleted> BREAK! In Thailand it would be a scandal if young famous rich guys were NOT fooling around. Guys got dicks and young guys want to use them with as many women as possible. That just the way we are programmed. The western world female controlled society just cannot accept that and guys must act the way women want them to or else we are all scum. But if cocktail waitresses and reality show contestants and softcore porn stars are seduced by a famous married guy. Well that is different. They are victims.

Living in the western world really sucks for a guy these days.

  10. What is it you don't like about Canada? Not trying to start a flame war but I'm curious.

It is not that I dont like Canada , it is just not for me anymore. The social systems that I pay in to in Canada I can not have access to because of what I make, weather, poitics, corrption on a massive scale, cost, Maybe it is the not liking living in a bubble anymore. And I dont believe Canada is all that it is made out to be. Fell in love with asia after being there now for over 6 years. Like the weather, food people. Can go out at night and eat at many stalls. just the atmosphire in general. And when I want to go some were to another country it is not far to get there an hour or 2 in a plane. From here it is far to anywere else in the world except the US.

    Are u from canada motoyen?

Corruption? If you want to know what REAL corruption is get to know Thailand better. There is practically nothing in Canada that compares.

I do know what your going through. I live in Western Canada and went through EXACTLY what your going through. I mostly agree with what your saying about how the Western world (not just Canada) starts to look a lot different after having seen life from the other side. You'll get over it. I spent several months in Thailand once and have been there many times. I mostly got Thailand out of my system now. Still think about living there and leaving Canada far behind but it doesn't eat away at me like it did before. Still go there for holidays and that's good enough now. I know lot's of guys who have taken the plunge and moved there permanently. Almost without exception the novelty wears off. Eventually the little annoyances of Thailand start to get to them and they start missing the western world. Perhaps not enough to move back but it kind of evens out after awhile as it will for you. So it's not all good vs bad.

My advice is if you can find the time/money, spend as much time as you can in Thailand (as I'm sure you will) and get it out of your system. The novelty will wear off so just enjoy it while it still seems fresh and exciting. As you get to know Thailand better you'll learn to appreciate how lucky you are to be a citizen of Canada. You will realized that Thailand is great if you have lot's of money but not much fun without money. In Canada, you can still have a very good life without much money because of our social safety nets which are practically non-existant in Thailand. Many Thais work long hours 6 days a week for terrible wages but in Canada we have much better opportunities. That is one thing I learned to appreciate.

Let me give you a couple facts. The entire country of Thailand is smaller than the province of Alberta and yet it has more than twice the population of all of Canada. They of course have more problems with air pollution and other things that would come with that much higher density. So in Canada we are blessed with lot's of wide open spaces, clean air and water etc.
