I question that! Look at your mothers-law. And a lot of Thai girls above 50 take on a lot of meat, especially when married to a farang with a good wallet.

Fine, you can question all you like. I never said there were no Asian buffaloes; just that there were fewer per capita.  And, I believe you are right in saying more Asians are becoming cottage cheese queens because they live a more Western lifestyle.

Do you not read?  I neither said there were no good-looking Western women nor did I say there were no Asian dragons. As far as shelf-life; well, we'll have to see what she looks like in a few years.

Interesting; a bit of a sterotype, but I think I might know her. About yay-tall, dark hair, olive skin, speaks with an accent, hi-so, tattooed, Isaan druggie/alco/hooker, but she has a pretty face?

You could be right, but I left the Western World before I hit 40, so I never had to experience life with any Western girl over the age of 35... so I have absolutely no experience with older versions.

I left the western world just after I was 21, but I have been with Western women since. I see lots of western women here now. Older age does seem to make it worse on Western women, but many of the younger ones show the same traits.

I really don't think Thai women age better than other nations. There's plenty of examples of Caucasian women looking great in their 60's and beyond. It depends on their lifestyle. A lot depends on how badly they roasted their skin in their earlier years in pursuit of a suntan. If I had a time machine I'd stay out of the sun my 2nd time around.

You may have solved your debate. Certainly lifestyle is a factor, and most Asians stay out of the sun.

However, I too believe, given a similar lifestyle, the average Asian woman--note I do not limit it to Thais--ages better, is more feminine, more nurturing and far less likely to become a buffalo than the average Western woman.

I only took the quote  -  I presume he meant not....

The OP only said he preferred them. You are the one who placed odds on bedding them. I posit the thought it may be just as difficult to bed a decent Thai girl and that bedding a prostitute, no mater her origin or physical attributes, requires only the desire and the money.

Easy to understand in a climate like Thailand, who wants to stick a smelly old pot on their head when it's much nicer to feel the breeze in your hair (if you've got any) from a safety point of view not such a good idea, but as long as you can get away with the likes of a 10 press-ups punishment it will continue unabated!

Thais go without helmets, take small children in cars without child seats, do not wear seat belts and drive without caution. Few of those rules are enforced, so why bother?

However, no matter their nationality, many bikers prefer to ride without helmets. Ignorance of the risk involved is not the reason. Safety is not their main concern; if it were they probably would not ride bikes. It is, as you say, "much nicer to feel the breeze in your hair" to be out in the open and fly through the air.

Your chances of bedding a "voluptuous olive skinned southern European or a blue eyed blonde Scandinavian girl" are significantly less.

Surely you are not talking about, "a voluptuous olive skinned southern European or a blue eyed blonde Scandinavian girl" who is a prostitute, are you?

Sure, but either way Thailand does not seem to be a country known for it's guns, as far as foreigners are concerned. Everyone knows about the US "right to bear arms", many also know that Switzerland also has quite liberal gun laws, with many Swiss owning a firearm but Thailand?

I still don't think the average Thai owns a firearm. Many do, depending on their profession or whether they feel threatened by someone, but not your average Somchai.

I think you have just proved my point. I have known about Thailand's gun problems for years. You say you don't think the average Thai owns a firearm, but then you didn't know Thailand had a gun problem.

Yeah, softshell crab is good, but is it Thai food? I first ate them deep fried in Southern Maryland. Of course, many of the "Thai" foods are more regional, like Kway Tiao, Ca Mu, or even Pad Thai.

  11. I like the Thai salads. Yum Pla Foo is one of my favorites along with Yum Wen Soon Talay. Of course, some of their seafood dishes are excellent, my favorite is Kung Num Manao. Some of the pork or beef dishes are nice, like Larb Nua or Mu. Their soups; Tom Yam Kung or Kuay Tiao Nua.  And, of course, desserts, Khao Neeao Mamuong

However many Thais seem to be unaware of this. A US based show where Americans marry foreigners has featured a number of Thai ladies and they're always saying things like: "we don't have guns in Thailand" or "guns are very rare, compared to the USA" and things like this. Americans watching the show, which is quite popular and watched by millions will believe this.

There is little I can do about the ignorance of others.

Now you are making it up. I never said he didn't have enough money, or that I didn't give him any. The weekend was ruined because he was so upset at having the card seized he didn't want to do anything. He was elderly then and a bit fragile. By the time he got the card back on Monday, it was time for him to leave, so we never got to do anything.

Well, that is a different situation. Too bad he was so fragile that the loss of a card ruined his entire trip. Age does create problems which would not exist before.

My friend, a retired pilot, had an "anchor" that he treated very well (bought her a house) as well as her son who has a disability. He stressed she was hi-so. Well, he developed Alzheimer's and she took her son and fled. Sad that things are not always what they appear to be. Good luck to you.

Sounds like his anchor was perishable. Sure, you have to have someone who really cares for you and enough money to last. If you have money, you can always hire someone to take care of you; that is until you are no longer able to negotiate such an arrangement.  Then, you are  . . . .ed

My father used a card and the machine kept it, on a Saturday. He got no money. He had to wait till Monday to get the card back. It ruined our very rare time together.

Ah, that sounds like a personal problem. Too bad you couldn't trust your old man enough to give the money to get through the weekend.

I have two cards and so does my wife, so we would have to lose all four before we were out of money.

Oh yes, use an ATM, lose card in machine or the skimmers get the details, what a great idea!

It's not as though they charge you extra inside the bank.

Do you risk getting out of bed? I've used ATMs all over the world for as long as they have existed. However, I am familiar with skimmers and try to use ATMs in safe places at safe times; outside banks during office hours is best. Once, several years ago, an ATM ate my card. I was able to go inside the bank and retrieve it.

Oh, and they do charge extra inside the banks--my valuable time.

The point I was making is when you inhale that "new car" smell, the bad accompanies the good.

An interesting analogy, although I would not know, as I am not a muff diver.

Yes, I understood that; however, I simply pointed out that you were discussing a different smell. Apparently, you are also unaware that newness is not only from the muff area.

Your nostrils do double duty as a gas chromatograph?

Well, I am more concerned with the purity of a substance than separating the components, but I was referring to a mixture of totally different elements.

Go back to kenk24's post #20; he said, a new car showroom. Apparently, he was referring to a term I used to differentiate a young inexperienced woman from a more widely used one--the former still having that new car smell.
