Where in Bangkok can I buy a flag to attach to the front of the car? I want to use it to judge the left edge of the vehicle.

I have seen it at Fascino on North Pattaya Road, but it was much more expensive than Kirkland from the US. I order it from Amazon and have friends bring it for me.

I usually say, "Take home". I've never had a problem.

Moonlight is a six month old small, intimate restaurant with great food in a surprising location: the ground floor of View Talay 7 overlooking the swimming pool.
I had dinner there last night with a friend and it was really good. The reviews on Trip Advisor were very positive (I have added mine) so we decided to try it.
If you're looking for a quiet, delightful place to share a wonderful meal with a friend or a lover...this is it! There is no loud music; there are no TVs. The layout affords maximum privacy for each table. The entire ambiance is one of intimacy and elegance, a big surprise considering the location. There are perhaps 10 View Talay buildings in Pattaya and typically the establishments on the main floor are laundries, minimarts or real estate agencies. Moonlight is a very happy exception.
As for the food, it is really good! In my opinion it is on a par with some of the best in Pattaya: Mata Hari and Cafe des Amis. You can find the complete menu at their website: http://www.moonlightpattaya.com/moonlight-cuisine/. It is certainly not for those on a budget, but I think worth every baht.
I can't wait to go back...- 1

I was there yesterday as well and I can confirm that it is much larger than the old Index store (virtually right across Sukumvit). It is a lovely store with the usual very helpful Thai staff. Me: "Where is the lift to the garage?" Clerk: "We do not have a lift." (It was, in fact, almost directly behind her!)

FoodMart has improved considerably in recent times. I suggest those who have not tried it recently, to do so again.
While their meat and produce leave a lot to be desired, they have a terrific selection of baked goods. Their prices are higher than Foodland but not by much. They are certainly cheaper than Villa and have a far more interesting selection of Farang foods than Lotus or BIG C.

Escalator yes, but I've not seen a lift.

I went by there tonight and the place was dark. Their usual day off is Monday. Plus there is now a sign that says For Sale/Rent.

I learned this morning that Raymond -- owner, manager, chef -- at the Blue Olive had died. It will be hard to imagine the place continuing without him.

"Well, went to this La Monita the other night....and after never being fond of Mexican food...this place was outstanding...."
For someone "never being fond of Mexican food" you seem to have taken a keen interest in this thread, posting 6 replies. How come?

I updated my Galaxy Note 3 to Android 4.4.2 and except for the locking screen, I see and feel no difference.
On the locking screen is an icon for (supposedly) direct access to the camera, but it doesn't work. Nothing happens when I touch this camera button.
You have to swipe up on the camera button.

I bought a D-Link DAP-1360 at IT City in Pattaya to extend my Wi Fi into the bedroom and it did the trick. Works great!
Cost? Ease of setting it up and using? Where is IT city?
Any and all details if you dont mind please?
thanks
It was 1160 baht and as I recall was pretty simple to set up. IT City is on the top floor of TukCom in Pattaya, on the top floor of Pantip Plaza in Bangkok and in Siam Paragon as well.

There is now a sign on the construction site next to the Royal Hill for a La Baguette French Bakery. So I guess this sadly puts to rest the Foodland rumor.

Bon Cafe sells inexpensive declassify powder. They have branches in most major cities in Thailand.

I believe this is what happens: the city hires one contractor to dig the holes and another to bury the cables. The hole contractor promptly does his job, but cable contractor, for some reason (maybe the city ran out of money, maybe they are waiting for materials) cannot perform yet, so the holes remain. This kind of thing is fairly common here.

You can find cast iron pans at True Value stores and at Paragon in Bangkok.

I just read today that Hugh Millar has died and the cremation is scheduled for Saturday.
Hugh was a long-time fixture in the Pattaya community as general manager of the Ambiance Hotel, general manager of Manhattan's Steak House and owner of his own restaurant, Symphony. He will be surely missed.
Does anyone know any more details? Was he sick for a long time? -
I sold a Samsung Series 5, 47", 4 years old, in perfect condition for 10,000 baht.

I've had good luck right here on the ThaiVisa classifieds.

Easy Language Translator is a very good app that can recognize English speech and translate it to Thai script as well as Thai speech. I've been trying it for a few hours and it seems quite accurate.
My first impressions are very good.

You can get it at Foodland and Villa as well.

Went to El Gaucho Thursday night with a friend. We both had their cheese and bacon burgers and both of us thought they were terrific. Not just the best burgers in Bangkok, but the best burgers ever! French fries were so-so.
This meal is for serious burger lovers, people who really understand what constitutes a fine burger and are will to pay for it (the price is 590 baht). I know there are many folks who just cannot understand paying that much for a hamburger. So be it.

So by using Viber rather than Skype you save 2 baht on a 3 minute call to the US. Wow, that's pretty exciting!
Let's see now what can I buy with 2 baht...

Individual words tend to work rather well in most translations programs. The difficulty comes when you try an entire sentence. Google will frequently make a complete mess, especially if the sentence is long or complex.
