  1. Hi all,

I applied for a tourist visa of 2 months, but the application process was so slow it got processed when I was already on the airplane. Therefor, I my application was cancelled by the consulate in Belgium. It seems they had a serious backlog in processing visa's due to holiday season and computer problems. And now I am left with a issue on how to stay beyond the 30 day visa on arrival.

So, my questions are, how can I get another 30 days?

    1. Is a visa on arrival extension limited to only 7 days? This is what I figured out but I am not sure if it is up to date information and if it is correct.

    2. Is it true that the border crossing is still limited to only 15 days?

    3. Any other suggestions, or is flying in and out the only option to get another 30 days?

Any help is more than welcome.

  2. Hi all,

As a Belgian citizen, I applied for a tourist evisa on the 20th of december. Today, 28th of december, my application is still pending. Knowing that I will arrive on January 3rd in Thailand, I start to stress out. I will stay 2 months. Of course, I could buy a train ticket to go to Laos or another neighboring country and do a "visa run" but out of experience, I have always known that the appliction for a visa is always 1 working day.

What is happening? Anybody else having the same experience.

  3. Dear guys,

Just want to share my experience. I'm a Belgian citizen and after the news on Friday, I decided to book a ticket, arrival January 4th 2022, return flight 3nd of March 2022.

As this is longer than the regular 30 day Visa on Arrival, I try to apply for a tourist visa.

Surprise, surprise: due to the covid situation, you are required to book an appointment with the embassy. I'm taking things so much in advance, 2 months and 1 week in advance.

No appointment bookings possible before beginning of January?????? I cannot believe it.

Then I try to find out more about what is going on. On the Thai embassy of The Netherlands, they specified that you can do an e-visa application starting from end of November. But I have no news about Belgium.

I tried to do an e-visa on https://www.thaievisa.go.th/ and it just tells I'm not eligible to apply through the e-visa system. I have to go to the Thai Consulate. I'm not sure what will happen now. Do any of you guys have any more information on this issue.

Who applies for a visa, 2,5 months in forehand? This is totally crazy.

What are the rules now for the Visa on Arrival. Some websites indicate that this is now 45 days? Is it true? If it is the case, can I extend this Visa on Arrival?

Anyone has any idea's on this issue?

  4. I own a Toyota Corrola Altis from 2006. It's a pretty old car, but it runs like a charm.

I have always filled up the tank with the regular gasohol 91 as this is what is mentioned as the correct fuel.

My question is, can I use E20 or E85 instead? People are giving me random answers, so I want to know if you guys know if the engine is "compatible" with either E20 or E85.

    Thanks for any answers!

  5. I'm living in Sima Condo at only 200m from the terminal. The niece of my wife is still inside. This is unbelievable.

It seems the guy is still inside the building. The niece her phone battery is about to die, so my wife is in total panic.

I never thought this was possible in Khorat and Thailand.

Would be interesting to hear if:

    she has been released

that her viral numbers are near zero

that she has been tested for antibodies

There have been some reports that viral numbers stay elevated (and thus still able to infect others) for a period after the cessation of symptomatic illness.

  7. Hi all,

I'm on a Visa on Arrival and my 30 days will run out on Feb. 2nd.

I'm planning a trip to Laos via the Friendship Bridge in Nong Khai. I'll stay a couple of days in Laos, before heading Back to Thailand over the Friendship Bridge again into Thailand.

As a Belgian citizen, when returning to Thailand, will I get 15 days or 30 days Visa On Arrival when getting back to Thailand?

Depending on the number or days, I will have to stay longer or not in Laos, as my return flight is on the 28th of February.

I am so confused, some people tell me it changed again to 30 days, others tell me it is still 15 or 14 days.

    Someone have a recent experience?

Regarding the Laos visa, can I still get the visa at the border, or should I apply in forehand? What is the current price for a Laos visa. I guess just a picture is required? (this is knowledge from experience from border crossing of 10 years ago. I have no idea if something has changed about this matter ever since, just askin...)

    Thanks for any help.

  8. Dear all,

can someone tell me if I can buy a chinese tourist visa while I'm staying in Bangkok. I will be there on a visa on arrival and I plan to visit China by the end of January.

I'll be in Thailand on a visa on arrival.

I do get some reports, they do not provide chinese visa's to foreigners, other than Thai's? Is that true. That is a problem, as I have not enough time here in Belgium left over to get a visa for my chinese trip.

    Any advise is appreciated.

  9. Dear all,

I will travel to Bangkok on 7th of January 2017. I will fly out to China for a visit of a company around the 13th. If I apply on Monday at the Chinese embassy in Bangkok, will 3 working days be enough to get the visum done?

How long does it takes to get a Chinese Visa?

I know it costs 1000 baht, but there is no information available on how much time is required to get a Chinese Visum issued.

    Thanks for any reply.

  10. I think the OP (original poster) has the right to get a very clever answer.

If your girlfriend is willing you to buy a house for her, she needs to earn it. Or even better earn it together. I suggest not to give in and talk with her. Tell her that in our Western standards, if you as a couple want to get something, you both have to work for it.

Tell her to put about 5.000 to 10.000 baht of savings aside and start to get to the 400.000 baht.

Imagine, 5.000 baht each, 1 year is 60.000 baht per peson, thus 120.000 baht for both a year.

After 3 years, you have the amount and you can start build the house.

If you just give her the money, she will not feel like she has earned it. And let me tell you a story so you understand me better. You better give this example to your girlfriend, because this is the truth.

When I was working for a company about 17 years ago, I got a car for free, the fuel card for free. It was all offered by the company. Well.. I drove like a madman with this car. Not taking care of it at all.

But when I started to work and I had to earn my car myself, believe me, the day I bought my own car with my own hard earned money, I was taking so much care of the car, because I was working for it for 3 years.

Well, what I want to tell you, is that love is not to be measured on how much she gets or what she gets. Love is measured in what you realize together and if you are worth both sacrifices on doing so. If she is not open for the idea, i'm sorry to say to you, but she is only interested in the money, not the relationship.

In Thailand, and Thai culture, the misperception of a Thai lady with a Farang is: why hasn't she received a car/house/nice skirt, etc. from her rich bf.

I have had many conflict situation about this and this is an area of conflict in many relationships in Thailand. We can respect their culture, but they have to respect ours too.

  11. Hi Technik,

I haven't taken any time to read the crap other posters write.

I have been going to Thailand for 14 years for my job. I have seen older men with younger ladies, where the younger ladies are ripping the older men off, of all their savings of a lifetime.

I know you are not that old, but my point is, be careful. Don't show your love with money, because you will always be a looser.

She lied in the first place. So my advise, the relationship is built on sand, not on concrete.

If you are married, you have responsibilities. She had to think about it from the very first day when she married the guy.

How would you react (in case it is no scam) if you are married for many years and you find out your wife is going with other men?

There no such thing like paying money to divorce. That is bull shit. So, it is clear it is a scam.

I advise you to move on with your life. I know it is a hard pill to swallow when you realize you have been loosing so much time these few months trying to build up something that fails.

If you feel no good, get depressed, get some Saint John's wort pills, and you'll get over your depressed feelings pretty well. It is a natural product that will help you a lot and after a few weeks from now, you'll start to see things more clearly.

I don't want to make a fool of you like some of them love to do on this forum, I want to be a helping hand.

Wish you good luck and please, don't let love and money interfere with each other.
