  1. but by god he's got guts !

Actually, a majority of his critics claim his lack of said guts is exactly what is preventing him from winning.

Myself, I have a specific reason for keeping my fingers crossed...

yes, i would in most circumstances hope that the 9/1 each way at a quarter of the odds first 6 places bet i put on Woods at the start of the tournament would have a fairly decent chance of paying a very nice dividend. but i'd be glad to see part of that go down the pan a long with the little shits petulance and smirking smile, in order to see Lee who is an Englishmen lift the claret jug.

don't tell me you have a wager on to ? tongue.png

  2. a few years back i started a thread " Lee Westwood for a major " which is now archived.

i happened to believe the guy had what it takes and had put the hard graft in to better his game.

there were of course the usual amount of scoffers and knockers that had their say and dismissed my claim.

a few close calls and finishes down the line, Lee now stands one round away from reaching that ultimate prize. he may win and then again he may not, but by god he's got guts !

  3. have a feeling Clarke is going to be there all afternoon and notch up a very big score.

the guys class with a bat in his hand, i just hope i'm wrong ! biggrin.png

I think you might be right. Either way, the wicket has a draw written all over it.

strewth mate, well blow me down with a pint of Castlemaine xxxx pish.

no way was Hughes out there !

still i'm not complaining, now let me be wrong about Clarke, please. tongue.png

  4. Haha I can feel the tension from here....if the Ausdies win I will fall off my barstool laughing.....if England win I will smile smugly.

    I love being a sweaty sometimes! biggrin.png

just be sure you wash around the cracks and give yourself a good airing.

you know the opposite to how your wallet must feel. tongue.png

  5. come on Cook you are missing a trick here, get Anderson on.

the balls in it's 64th over and should start to reverse.

get Haddin out while you still have the chance, he's a dangerous player and won't go down without a fight.

what did i say about Haddin yesterday ?

  6. ^ erm............ explain that one Bookman ?

two Englishmen batting alternatively depending on when one gets out against 11 Aussies who have spent 1 and a half days in the field so far.

apart from Ed Cowan that is who has spent most of his time in the pavilion, whether batting or fielding.

must have had one of those dodgy Nottingham Indian curries !

hey what's happened to this function BTW the text is all funny and i can't access the smiley thing a me jig ?

  9. key word for today's game i think is " intensity "

first off i don't rate this Wallabies side one bit ! a few good individuals, but a distance from past great Aussie sides and you'd probably get most Aussies who know a thing or to about Rugby to admit it to.

the LIons have to go out there today and be in their faces for the whole 80 mins. know what it means to pull on the jersey, fight for every ball, be first at the breakdown, turn the screw in the scrums, hassle at the line out, don't give them a second with the ball and most of all play with a passion the way the game is meant to be played, just like their fore fathers and compatriots have done before them.

on the issue of selections, i think Gatland has made the right call !, but that's just my personal opinion. you can't just pick someone because of their reputation, rely on form and go with a gut instinct and that is what he has done.

personally i feel for Justin Tipuric not getting a call up.

oh and one thing to bare in mind the ref is a frog.biggrin.png

  10. right that's breakfast done !

2 toast, egg, bacon, sausage, mushrooms, tomatoes, baked beans, hash brown, oh and a black coffee. wink.png

    jealous ? good !

now down the pub for a light appetizer of a couple or 3,4,5.............. pints of the black stuff while i watch our Lions give the wimpish Wallabies a massive lesson in how to play Rugby. (coached by a Kiwi for good measure) biggrin.png
