  1. I see that those who blame all Muslims for the actions of the few are still in full flow.

    I repeat, yet again.

All sane people abhor and condemn not only this obscene murder but the actions of all terrorists.

This includes the vast majority of Muslims living in the UK.

They and their leaders and representatives have condemned this crime; they have stressed that no matter what the murderers chanted as the hacked Drummer Rigby to death, it was not done in their name nor in the name of Islam.

They have long banned Choudrey and other radical preachers of hate from their mosques.

But the majority of posters here don't believe them and think that all Muslims in the UK are plotting to overthrow our democracy, put our women into burkas, impose medieval laws on us and stop us from eating bacon sarnies!

I have to feel sorry for these people. Cowering in their homes, afraid to go into the corner shop for a paper because they believe the man behind the counter is waiting for the opportunity to leap out and behead them; afraid to order a curry as they think the man at the takeaway will probably poison it to kill another infidel; afraid if a man with brown skin boards their bus as he's probably a Muslim suicide bomber!

Except; most of these posters are living 6000 miles away in Thailand!

They see on the news radical Muslims demonstrating and think that this is how all Muslims in the UK are. Forgetting that the media aren't interested in reporting the fact that the vast majority of people in the UK live in perfect harmony with each other; that isn't news, it doesn't get reported!

So being 6000 miles away they search the internet for proof of their prejudices and find rants from ultra white wing white supremacist representatives of parties like the EDL and BNP. They then post these rants and claim it is what the majority of white Brits think.

You may think that from 6000 miles away; but I live in the UK and you are wrong.

Yes, there are radical Muslim extremists in the UK; but there are other radical extremists in the UK as well.

The Muslim radicals no more represent the majority of UK Muslims than the EDL or BNP represent the majority of the white UK population.

I now expect to be, yet again, flamed as an appeaser and supporter of the murderers of Drummer Rigby by those whose prejudice will brook no disagreement and will not allow rational discussion.

well i am one of those that are living in the U.K. at the moment and while i take on board your comments about the fact that there are decent law abiding Muslims out there that are happy to live here, i will let our fellow members into a little bit of insight as to some of the not so law abiding citizens that are'nt.

i tend to do a lot of driving in my job over here in the U.K. and in the days following this atrocity i listened in to several call in talk radio shows. i am sure you've heard of them, Vanessa Feltz on BBC radio London on 94.9 fm and Nick Ferrari on LBC on 97.3 fm.

Vanessa had one guy call, who didn't want to give his name, that claimed he knew one of the attackers. had met him at his local Mosque, noticed that his behavior had changed and that he had started to urge fellow brothers to go and fight for the cause in Syria. when he grew concerned about the way this guy was acting he confided in an elder and was told not worry and that it was just probably all talk.

then i do believe that there was a fella by the name of Jordan, that called in to LBC and praised the actions of the two killers and had very heated debate with Ferrari and an Afghan lady about how the British armed forces were into smuggling and trafficking cocaine. oh yes and then he tried to educate everyone on how there were 3 levels of Jihad.

there was another young lady that came on that advocated the killing and then went on to denounce the way we live in our own country and believed that the place would be a whole lot better if we were to live by Sharia law.

even a University lecturer who got about 20 seconds in and then got cut off for just being totally insensitive to the situation.

shall i go on ? or do you get the picture ?

so please don't come on here and try and be a smart arse by claiming that know-one knows what they are talking about, just because they happen to in Thailand. because not all of us are ! wink.png

oh and no, before you even think of going there, i am not making this up. i do believe the Vanessa stuff is still on the BBC website i just don't know how to post it. and i have tried at lengths to find the other stuff from LBC on youtube, but to no avail.

would really appreciate it if someone could help me out there.

  2. just watched a great and absorbing game between N. Melbourne and Adelaide.

crows clinched it in the dying seconds with a goal to win by 1 point.

i know the games got its knockers, but i can say as an Englishman i have been hooked ever since i went to see Essendon vs Hawthorn with an Aussie girlfriend of my mine back in the 90's at the oval in London.

nice to see the Bombers doing well this season ! biggrin.png

    Tigerfish.

If you follow the great game, you will only be an Englishman, when the bails are placed during the Ashes :-)

nah mate, i'd stick to the egg shaped balls if i were you, its the only chance you've got of winning the ashes this summer ! laugh.png

love a bit of banter and all in good fun.

BTW look out for a young Yorkshire lad by the name of Joe Root, scored a maiden test 100 on a tricky home wicket at Headingley yesterday. wink.png

  3. When ever something happens in the UK that makes many a UK native smolder (me included) the government of the day comes out with this stuff to throw water hoping to halt a fire.

All UK governments, now and previous, know whats going on behind closed doors but does nothing to intervene. UK laws are now such that many UK natives (native meaning folk that the UK belongs too) fear to voice an opinion for fear of arrest as laws have been introduced to ''protect'' other folk from verbal stuff. The UK has bent over backwards for other folk and now are and going to pay the price. For sure our secret service is working hard to foil stuff BUT the recruiting and brainwashing the brainless is allowed to continue.

many U.K. nationals have just given up and done exactly what we a long with a lot of others around the world, left their homeland for good.

a sad state of affairs if you ask me !

for the rest of you out there, next time you bump into one of us ask them, what was the main reason for you leaving ? and i will bet my last bottom dollar i will know the answer.

as an old Kiwi mate of mine used to say, last one out turn the lights off !

  4. god , what pile of dog poo !

sorry pats, but after close consultation with mrs TF my vote has to go to smokie and street cowboy for. i would walk 500 hundred miles just for a pint of pish and a deep fried whatever.

  5. love music and love most of what Thailand has to offer with some exceptions.

i suppose i have been very lucky in some respects to have mixed with a diverse cross of the Thai population and have been exposed to different types of music on opposite sides of the spectrum that friends and family have intruduced to me a long the way.

always remember one of the first nights i spent in the country and was sat up late at night and caught the music show that plays the country style Issaan songs from the Grammy label and at that time their was a lady called Jintarla Poonlarb signed to them. shes with another label now, but is still my favorite. wub.png

like them all from Takatan Chorlada to Got Jakapan, Siriporn and love a good night out at one of the many Morlam clubs in BKK, eating drinking, dancing and having a good laugh and a sing a long

then there's the other side that i tend to lean towards through my own personal choice of music style. bands like Bodyslam, Silly Fools (been lucky enough to see them live) the splinter band and off shoot Hangman, Da Endorphine and Sek Loso.

anyway heres a good starter that mixes both styles.

off to find some Jintarla on youtube now ! biggrin.png

  6. I guess it is only the 'social' golfers that think TW should be playing. Those that take the game more seriously understand that a golfer should, and does, give himself penalties even when he is the only one that knows he should get one.

That is part of being a golfer, you self rule. Done it many times myself when a ball has moved slightly or a branch has broken during a practice swing. That's what makes golf different, and in my view, better because the golfer is seen to be above reproach.

Well not any more, now that TW has done this we may find young brats trying to find all different ways out of giving themselves a penalty.

There is one thing about this that lays the blame firmly with TW and why he should withdraw.

He explained why he moved the ball back further for the drop.

If he had just dropped his ball where he THOUGHT was the nearest point and it was later pointed out to be wrong then fair enough, a penalty etc.

But he said he did it on purpose. Therefore he knowingly, or should have known, he broke the rules. No excuse, he should be DQ.

Can someone please tell me the best way to watch Masters on internet for free?

So come on Einstein, why did not the Augusta committee not see it that way?, and that's after consulting the PGA, European tour, Obama,s dog and Uncle Tom Cobbly.

They were plain wrong is probably the second easiest explanation...? The easiest one is that Augusta would have lost a fat pile of million dollars if Tiger was not in the field.

in a nutshell Forethat, couldn't agree more !

  7. loving it !

Peter Alliss putting the world to right on the BBCs coverage.

it will be a truly sad day when he switches off his commentary mic and retires.

  8. Andrew Cotter, BBC Sport at Augusta

"The rules of golf are clear. Tiger took an incorrect drop so there's only one outcome. Guan Tianlang will have to be disqualified."

i wish the Beeb would DQ that prat and the whispering Maureen Madill while their at it.

will never happen though, because they are Scots and we all know how much the BBC are in love with the way they talk.

best thing that ever happened was when Cotter got the xxxxx whilst "apparently" commentating on this years six nations rugby match between Italy and Wales.

sheer bliss ! actually had nearly a whole games worth of two people who were ex players that knew what they were talking about, whilst making sense.

  9. heard about a great bit of reported retort from Lee Westwood on the radio today back in the U.K.

Monty has been having a bit of a pop and snipe at poor Lee for not having one a major yet and saying time is running out.

when ask about what the difference was between Monty and himself at similar stages in their careers.

    Lee replied " about 8 stone " cheesy.gif

  10. There must be some rumblings at the FA regarding Hodgson....it is fair to say there's a lot of money riding on qualification and failure will be highly damaging for them.

Any risk of him getting the boot?

Strachan is doing a good job ain't he!!

mixing it with the best of them these days Scotland !

such esteemed company, the likes of San Marino and Andorra........

perhaps Smokes could shed a little bit more light on the subject for us. biggrin.png

  11. Interesting to hear your differing opinions gents....I will be watching this one for sure....I admit I am licking my lips at the prospect! biggrin.png

It should be a hard fought battle.

indeed. these countries with the same population as sheffield are no pushover.

It wasn't englands fault they were drawn to play against San Marino. They were, they won 8-0. Couldn't have done much better really. End of story isn't it? So why do England have to take criticism over which teams we are drawn against because no one celebrated it as a great victory although i sure many were hoping they would? Its so tedious these purile snips from the other home nations

Anyways, if you and smokes are going to watch the England game let me know how it goes the next day. I can't muster the enthusiasm.

But i have to say, it always makes me chuckle at how eager non english are to bitch and have a pop at England. Its a deep rooted inferiority complex combined with a chip on the shoulder that would make Quasimodo's look like a mosquito bite. I think fans of the national team should laugh at the monotonous bullshit sniping and take it as a compliment.

isn't the bit about poor old Quasimodo a tad unfair on the poor chap Carms ? thumbsup.gif

although i do agree on the bit about the comparison with a mosquito bite, but in another way, especially in Smokies case ! biggrin.png
