  1. I once said to a Thai lady look at that beautiful full moon she looked at me and said "where?"

    Trueblink.png

on returning back to the U. K. at the start of Autumn i met a Thai lady that had not been in the country all that long and whilst making polite conversation she asked. " why do you not take care of your trees ? they are all dying, i don't like your country very much ! "

    then started to cry. sad.png

  2. yes its Friday and the weekend begins here !

good music and lots of free time to do as we please, as well as partaking in the odd tipple or two !

anyway older members you may want to adjust those pace - makers of yours and maybe close the door. you wouldn't want the other half creeping up on you now, would ya ? wink.png

and for those of us still young enough to remember this kind of stuff. enjoy and feel free to add to the thread and post whatever floats you boat, but it has to have that little bit of an edge to it, if you ya know what i mean. biggrin.png

that goes for all you ladies out there and.................... well.

  3. op, do me a favour, get in the real world.

you almost sound like one of those types that actually thinks that his crap smells of roses whilst wearing rose coloured specs !

heres food for thought, pardon the pun ! biggrin.png just think about the next meal you order and who has cooked it ?

always better washed down with a bottle of 285 i think ! whistling.gif

Left hand or 2 Baht for paper....biggrin.png

    You are such a wimp.

    True.

Only a total wimp goes into a public toilet.

Real men stand outside and piss against the wall.

arghhhhhhhhhhhhhh yes, you mean the ones that wear wigs, but havent had the chop already ! wink.png

  5. i would really like to know where all these liberal minded apologists actually come from and where they live in the U.K.

    you know the types...............

the ones that always like to think they have done their bit by donating to the local Oxfam shop, but are always the first to complain that their local Starbucks shop has run out of a piece of over priced carrot cake. or Waitrose/ Marks and Spencers have no stock in their favourite brand of triple chocolate chip cookies.

the types that like to think that they have a pulse for what's really going on in the real world, but like to hide away in their affluent Victorian/Georgian houses in well to do parts of London or surrounding counties like Surrey, Hertfordshire, Cambridge and Oxford.

no doubt the same types of people that when in Thailand wouldn't squat for a shit if their life depended on it !

Quite the rant - and for the record you couldn't be more wrong if you tried (though I have occaisionally donated stuff to the local Oxfam shop).

This diatribe says more about your own narrow-minded prejuidices than the people you are trying (and failing) to have a go at.

I live in Thailand, but funnily enough I was also brought up in the East Midlands.(but not in an affluent Georgian residence ! w00t.gif ).

wrong am i and couldn't be more far from the truth ?

like i said try walking in my shoes for a day and then maybe your perspective on the matter might change, although i doubt it !

and you have the cheek to call me narrow minded even though you don't even live back in the U.K. now.

get up for work like i do and i will take you for a trip down Smithfield meat market, which is where i work. another part of old London that has suffered a long with its work force from the namby pamby decision makers that think they know what's right for the country.

then you can come for a drive back at around 5 am to my works base through the streets of London where you can see for yourself the influence of a nanny state. everyone going to work at that time i will tell you is either English and working two jobs just to get by or foreign and going to work in a job that no other person wants.

why ? because the greedy people that employ them will not pay a decent wage to the average Londoner who has to pay for things and is not asking for handouts off the state.

oh, and while you are taking a look around take in how many cameras are beaming in on you, the amount of sirens ringing and flashing blue lights, the foreign number plates that drive by. not to mention the high street and corner shop businesses that never existed 20 odd years ago on our streets.

now once you finally get back to my work base, be sure to get your foreign phrase book out, you will need about 10 of them because that how many different languages are spoken in my place of work. no need for an English one though, because they all got out a long time ago when the boss decided to be such a tight arse and not pay for skilled Butchers that know what they are doing.

by the way do you have any idea how damaging it is to a business and how difficult it is to communicate to someone that doesn't understand a word of what you are trying to say, let alone read a word. right from the very start when a order is taken, to getting it prepared, cut, butchered, trimmed, tied whatever. to then having it delivered, getting the driver to find his way on time to a customer and then for the customer to then turn round and send it back because it doesn't reach the required standard.

do me a favour mate, get in the real world !

or at least if you do ever make your way back to the U.K. don't ever venture down the market on a cold winters morning. or you may get a shock and find out that a real London does still exist !

and 7by7 i do as a matter a fact happen to be married to a Thai and have been for the last 12 years.

and do you know what one of the first things is that she said when she stepped off the plane at Heathrow was ?

    " <deleted> cold here, aint it ? "

no i wont give you the real version, i will leave it up to all your lovely liberal open minds ! biggrin.pngwink.png

  6. i would really like to know where all these liberal minded apologists actually come from and where they live in the U.K.

    you know the types...............

This liberal minded apologist lives in the East Midlands. The population of my town is about 10% Asian and 2% black. My job takes me into corner shops and Post Offices. I suspect I meet far more Asians on a daily basis than the moaners meet in a month.

really, my god, you lucky sod !

you should have gone to school in my borough ! 20% white/Irish, 45% W. Indian/African decent and 35% Indian and Pakistani.

and to top it off, now there's an influx of Eastern Europeans not only taking jobs off people that not only know what they are talking about, but have worked in their line of trade all their life. old school !

walk down any high rd in inner London or the surrounding areas and you wouldn't know you were even in the U.K.

like i said, take a walk in my shoes at any given day and i am sure you will cower of to your suburban little Hamlet at the end of a culd de sac and refuse to acknowledge any of it.

If you live the capital city of any country you'll find the population unrepresentative of the general population of the country. 88% of us don't live in London although you'd never think so given the coverage of UK media. Complaining about the population mix in inner London is a bit like living in Harlem and complaining that there's a lot of black folks there.

and that is why i blatantly refuse to listen to anyone/apologist who doesn't know what they are talking about, because you don't have to live with it ! wink.png

  8. To whom do you refer? Are all those who disagree with your point of view 'liberal minded apologists'?

I do donate to Oxfam and other charity shops; better than throwing stuff away. I buy books and clothes from them, too; they're cheap.

Never go into a Starbucks, Cafe Nero etc.; overrated and overpriced. Waitrose and Marks and Spencer have good food, but we tend to use Asda or Morrisons. We'd use Lidl if there was one within walking distance. If any shop is out of stock of an item I want I look elsewhere or go without.

I like to think I'm informed a bit about world affairs, and UK ones, as I read and watch the news. From varied sources rather than just those media whose politics I agree with.

I prefer not to squat these days as I have hip problems; but have done so many times; not just in Thailand.

I do live in Surrey, in a rented housing association flat.

    Can't be me, then.

no i wasn't particularly aiming anything at you 7by7

it does get my goat up though when i hear people spouting off and then like to point the finger at those that get affected by things like this and then try and apologise for it and claim that those that do kick up a fuss are whingers and not open minded.

i would take any of these types out on any given day in the world that i live in and then like to see what they have to say for themselves.

my whole life and especially my work is affected in some way or another every day by decisions made by people that never have to see the outcome of their " o so liberal minded approach "out in the real world.

why do you think if given the chance i would be back in Thailand at the drop of a hat if my circumstances were different.

if you wish to do so, a long with all the other do gooders want to take a guess at why i have come to such a conclusion please do so.

    im all ears !!!!!!!!!!!!!
