  1. First only one religion is considered to be okay and now inrows in cultural institutionsbah.gif

Getting more and more like the dark age in the 1930s Europe!!

Would like to hear the followers of the Dear Leader to come out and defend this nonsense!!

    The forum is yours.coffee1.gif

Oh and while they're at it....would also like to know their defence on :-

PDRC shutting down public schools in 14 Southern provinces:

PDRC shutting down 46 vocational colleges in the South

Forcing the Imam of a Mosque to cancel the Koran lessons for a bunch of kids that were inside the Mosque when the mob shut them in.

This is akin to terrorism when threats are made to people and their way of life - oh and not let's forget that the kids have a human right to access to education. I remember the howls of anger a few days from the self-righteous supporters of Uncle Suthep when it was reported that a school director had 'forced' his students to march in support of elections. But where are you all now condemning the use of force and threats to schools to show civil disobedience?

Here they are saying the Northerners are uneducated buffaloes and don't understand democracy on the one hand and on the other, denying their own children an education. Oh the irony.

And this picture is doing the rounds on Bangkokians' social media....tells you pretty much what many are feeling right now.

As you observe racism is alive and well among the protesters and their leaders.

  2. If Thailand's general election does not take place within the 60 days of the dissolution of parliament Thailand will have abandoned Democracy. Since it appears that many Thai institutions and their leaders seem to be behind a seditionist that used money to buy an 'anti Shinawatra Family mob' with a view to destroying a second democratically elected government within ten years it is clear that the professionally engaged Thai citizens are technically part of Suthep's mob themselves. That being so Thailand will never achieve democracy. This is because they will never be able to draft a credible charter that can lawfully exclude the majority of the electorate from participating in the governance of their own country.

Further; Since most Thai politicians are considered corrupt the wish to exclude the Shinawatra's from office must be racially driven. I base this observation on the long standing hatred of some elite Thai families and their offspring have for Thai families of Chinese Decent that have risen to elite status.

If the Thai institutions and their professional employees, lawyers and judges do not ensure that the electorate can elect a new Parliament on February 2nd 2014 I believe that Thailand will never be able to return to being a democratic nation.

  3. This article is not credible. The fact is that Suthep's attempted sedition has failed. Now Suthep's sponsors are continuing with a damage limitation campaign with a warm and friendly message.

PM Yingluck remains determined to proceed with her twin option philosophy until the election. She will not resign.

Commander in Chief of the Thai Army Prayuth Chan-ocha is a competent military officer that is known for the tough and discrete manor in which he controls the Thai Army, he simply would not speak as quoted in this article.

As for Thaksin's Skype discussion I doubt it happened.

  4. "I don't think the election is going to take place because those who are in the judiciary are mostly siding against the Yingluck government," said Paul Chambers, director of research at the Institute of Southeast Asian Affairs at Chiang Mai University in northern Thailand.

Thank you Paul Chambers I too have noticed that the Thai judiciary are corrupt in that they swing Judgements in favour of the Elite which no doubt they recognise as Peers.

  5. I don't know all the details of this case

She wasn't a diplomat at the time of arrest, she was a consulate employee. Therefore no diplomatic immunity at the time of arrest.

India gave her diplomatic status after the arrest hoping to retroactively shield her from prosecution.

    Yeah, that's an important detail.

Doesn't change my opinion that this wasn't worth it.

Prosecutors aren't legally obligated to pursue convictions on all cases, you know?

Probably didn't predict the blowback on this. Maybe they SHOULD have?

India is misbehaving. They are acting like spoilt brats instead of stating their diplomat or whatever should abide by laws.

Then they would look more reasonable and official and then they could go behind the scenes to quash this if needed.

Now all they look is stupid and foolish on the world stage.

Its a case of ..we will do what we want or we will throw a tantrum.

I think India needs the USA more than the USA needs india

  6. The initiative proposed was supposed to have take effect by the year two thousand. To date it has not been effective due to the militance of Thai teachers in resisting the termination of rote learning and that they tend to be opinionated, racist and lazy.

When I witnessed my teenage child being taught in the Thai system I was heartbroken for her. The status and authority that Thai Teacher's are accorded is way beyond there ability to comply with the requirements of the Ministry of Education.

Based on my experience and opinion derived from it.

  7. So what if you the lame duck PM wants to hold Suthep responsible? It's the army that's more important and the army chief has already said it will hold YOU and your government responsible if violence breaks out.

Prime Minister Yingluck is in effect Thailand's Commander in Chief at this time in the sense that the Commander in Chief appears to report to her and or is out ranked by her as Minister of Defence.

Of course she is responsible for ameliorating any tragedy that descends upon the Monarchy, yet only responsible for her people and their Thailand.

The actions of a third party against the interest of the people and their Monarchy are only her responsibility because the perpetrator is in fact Thailand's, and it's people's, enemy.

  8. So what if you the lame duck PM wants to hold Suthep responsible? It's the army that's more important and the army chief has already said it will hold YOU and your government responsible if violence breaks out.

DPM is effectively Thailand's Commander in Chief and of course she is responsible for everything that transpires in Thailand. However she is only responsible for defending her people and their lands from the actions of a commoner that has given. himself and illusory mission.

  9. If we consider Suthep's rhetoric since the start of the protests has no continuity, strategy or intention that can be read from what he has said. Further I doubt that Suthep is clever enough to dream up a strategy and it's pathways toward the several stated objectives of annihilating (I think he also said exterminating) the whole of the Shinawatra family, whilst seizing the governance of Thailand in order that he personally will reform Thailand's flavor of democracy.

This is an adventure from madman's dream. This is demonstrably true in that a dictator is the least suitable judge of what is democratic what right for Thailand..

This protest has to have been created by an organisation headed by a political mastermind. The mastermind issues updated instructions to Suthep from week to week. That would explain Suthep's apparent irrational behavior, and at times insanity when he issues threats to Thailand's Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra without being able to understand that he is a criminal.

Saddest of all are his followers whose perception is a collection of lies and half truths which they have come to believe in their hunger for cash, cordon blue free food and excitement.

They will never know that a madman is changing their personality and behavior forever.

  10. Suthep is craving violence because he understands it is the only thing that will lead to a coup.

I think you're wrong in your opinion. He doesn't want violence, he want's Yingluck out and with out a coup. You could sensibly argue that he wants the backing of the military to further isolate and pressure Yingluck to step down. However; a coup would behoove the PTP to a far greater degree. They could then postulate to the world that they were a legitimate government overthrown by the military.

That is clearly ridiculous they are criminals all of them. It's all funded by an Elite family no doubt. What they want is easy access to the peoples money. They do not seem to care about anything else.

It's always the same story when a Thai government gets elected democratically the Elite, Royalist and hi-so want the government out and the Amy in because that is when the seem to rob out Thailand's assets the most.

  11. What on earth do these police spokespersons expect people to believe, what do these police spokespersons take to induce their inane comments.

The very act of discharging a firearm of any type can result in both injury and a fatality if the person(s) on the receiving end is not wearing any protection.Tear gas can bring on heart failure, rubber bullets can and have killed. Spent tear gas canisters have caused both injury and death,

Yet strangely enough according to the police spokespersons their weapons were not really effective, more like cap guns, starting pistols exploding paper bags etc one must suppose. So why were such weapons both issued and used n the first place?

Indeed Thailand is the ''hub of creative spokespersons comments.'' ot damage public property

Or in plain English, ''yet more lies and bum covering maneuvers.''

"Tear gas can bring on heart failure, rubber bullets can and have killed. Spent tear gas canisters have caused both injury and death",

All protesters have to do to be safe is to rally in approved areas and to not damage public property. If protesters can do this the will never see a tear gas canister or rubber bullet. This is similar to the rules of engagement in civil stress in the UK. It's not rocket science.
  12. Personally I think the election will be postponed after the 308 PTP politicians are disqualified

How can in all rationality can you want to believe or expect that in the middle of a political crisis any panel of Judges will be insane enough to do such a thing to 308 formally elected politicians that were just doing there job?

There are just so many times that Thailand can do something stupid before the little credibility Thailand has left, goes right down the toilet.

  13. I hope they are able to derail this bill.

If you want to invest in infrastructure that is good, but make good plans and make sure there is accountability. Doing it off the books only invites even more graft and the PTP is corrupt enough as it is.

Everyone knows that this loan was also to support the rice scam.

I have no problems with investments if opponents are allowed to check the spending.. not like this.

    You state that...

"Everyone knows that this loan was also to support the rice scam."

Which institutions IT systems have been hacked for you to be so specific about the financial side of this issue. I suggest that you put up or shut up. Bold statements like these are very damaging to Thailand and her markets if they are not true.

  14. The current problem is nothing to do with goodwill or democracy. The cause of all of this trouble is the corruption of the 1997 constitution when being modified to ensure that the elite could always prevent the proletariat from governing the nation, after winning an election, if they the Elite did not like the policies of any government in office.

The present caretaker government had been in the process of modifying the current constitution to reflect the meaning and intent of the 1997 constitution which guarantees that Thailand remain a democratic constitutional Monarchy.

It is this issue that guarantees the current seditionist his funding from the Elite families of Thailand.

If the Thai Army is worthy of it's true purpose it should always stand side by side with the elected government of the day.

The Thai government will not have international credibility until it protects the peoples rights as well as their borders and their safety when threatened by an enemy. A seditionary force is an enemy.

  15. In other words all protesters could face the death penalty. Even with the low quality-standard of the government this guy is an embarrassement.

That's why more and more people hate this crab woman government. They are better off keeping their mouth shut! This crab/crap people must end for Thailand.

Statements like this loose we foreigners credibility and make us appear to be uneducated morons that should have stayed home. To insult the Prime Minister of a foreign nation will never earn us credit with our peers or our own government.
