  1. C'mon man! You know the thing! Thai's efforts to extract every possible Baht out of foreigners is a traditional culture. You can't change tradition or culture.
  2. Thanks so much for sharing; human misery has little impact on corruption and those engaged in human trafficking!
  3. The new online 90 days Web based software https://tm47.immigration.go.th/tm47/#/login IMHO seems to be OK. Just enter your passport number and country and hit the magnifying glass, and the rest of the form is autofilled for you based on the current information Thai Imm have on their records. The current stand out issue is that if you renew your visa, the next 90-day online report due after the visa renewal may still have your old visa expiry date on the form. (you can see in the autofill visa expiry date field identifying the problem) So I have found just keep submitting the same information 14 days out multiple times from the due date of the next 90-day report.(changing the renewed visa date each time to your latest visa renewal date) Eventually after 3 or 4 rejects finally someone in Thai Imm takes a look and identifies the visa renewal date information in their Imm system is correct, but the visa information prepopulated in the form is outdated and approves your 90-day report. The following online 90-day reports now will have the correct visa renewal date in the form. This process works for me every time after a visa renewal.
  4. Joe Biden's Approval Rating Sinks Below Donald Trump's https://www.newsweek.com/joe-bidens-approval-rating-sinks-below-donald-trumps-1708787 Not sure why you think it's a tragedy, he has earned it!
  5. Prohibited by the rip-off taxi fares charged to tourists to and from Kata and Karon.
  6. A question to all! I went through the YouTube video link provided https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xpxE0Nhbqic&ab_channel=ThailandImmigrationBureau (thanks so much) I noted at 2.44 into the video, it states the processing officer will contact you if any incomplete or incorrect information is found and consider it for correction and approval in the next 3 days, thus expediting the TM47 approval process. Never happened for myself or any of my friends in the past that had issues with the new online 90 day reporting system that rejected our original TM47 form submission. Anyone had this great immigration experience of being contacted by an immigration officer, either by email or phone call?
  7. Why bother! When more chance of multiple injuries or even death from this practice!
  8. Thanks for the survival strategy, which I adhere to every time I drive on Thai roads here. You have to drive for yourself and every other driver / vehicle that is in your 360 degree vision range. Touch wood, this has worked for me for 5 years now; not saying it won't eventually happen, but I do everything possible to mitigate my chances of being taking out by one of these loony idiots.
  9. With her as the ref, I would absolutely take dive 55555
  10. Take a look at this 2015 - Consulting Service in Relation to the Development of Safe Road Usage Action Plans for the Department of Land Transport Report https://www.dlt.go.th/site/ltsb/download.php?ref=rS9jET1Oq09ZGT1BM1q0G2yRrS9jDz1Hq19ZpJ1SM2I0oTyvrTSjqT1sqlMZp21yM2k0nJyzrS9joJ1kq0IZMJ1jM3y0qTysrPMjZT0mqmEZA21kM0I0MTycrS8oSo3Q Especially Page 6-2 the Road Safety Action Plan Ask yourself in 2022 has any of these DLT strategies been implemented that has made a significant positive difference in the reduction of road accidents and associated deaths in Thailand. Of course, it's a rhetorical question?
  11. Re: Gen Wirachai was named as the 36th richest person in Thailand in the Forbes list last year. He was estimated to be worth $940M US or nearly 30 billion Thai baht. C'mon Man You Know the Thing!
  12. From their users guide https://tm47.immigration.go.th/manual/IndexForeign.html The system supports browsers Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge. (Latest version recommended)
  13. C'mon man! You know the thing, by now, if you lived in Thailand for more than a year. All Thai government regulations and rules are really only guidelines. Thais here just interpret them to their opinion. Examples, road rules and immigration 5555
  14. Re: Dear XXX XXXX Your receipt for notification of "STAYING LONGER THAN 90 DAYS" will be due on 16/03/2022. Welcome to Thailand 4.0 (not) Your experience is not unusual, there are 4 Immigration variables in play here, 1) the new online 90 day reporting system, 2) the in-house manual 90 day reporting system, 3) the immigration process officers, and 4) the Thai Visa approval system. Unfortunately, there is still synergy lacking between the coupling of all these variables. Although things are gradually improving, as you know, it takes time and perseverance here in Thailand to move things forward. One suggestion, keep your current TM30 and 90-Day reporting evidence stapled in your passport to mitigate future challenges of your reporting status for visa renewals. We all live in hope one day they will all come together!
  15. Many thanks, been looking for some time to move to Hua Hin from BKK. <deleted> me, the overpriced properties in Hua Hin are as crazy as BKK prices these days. Surely, they are delusional about selling at the list prices I see in Hua Hin agents' listings, or are there so many rich loonies out there that would pay these over the top prices. Guess, it comes down to supply and demand and who has deep pockets.
  16. Banks here are drowning in excess paperwork, inefficient business practices, ineffective staff, over the top regulations plus very limited branch authority to get things done. Try asking for anything that's not mainstream from a bank here, and you will get that deer in the headlights look. Try getting any bank manager to actually help you with a problem or special request, if they decide to help you, they will drown you in paperwork to deter you. Having dealt with various banks institutions here over the years both at a personal and business level, I would rate them very low overall on the scale of efficiency, professionalism and productivity. What the hell, maybe all the bureaucracy of the banks here is based around anti corruption safeguard policies!
  17. Thanks for the comments, I did click the was "satisfied" box 55555, so hopefully they take the input as constructive user feedback experience.
  18. Folks, I think over the years I have historically been one of the most critical proponents of the shortcomings of the various Imm online TM47 90-day reporting systems rolled out. But, it has come a long way (not perfect yet) and yes things do move slowly in Thailand. May I suggest that you use the suggestion option in the TM47 Online Satisfaction Survey form (below wxample) to input your suggestions, issues or concerns. I have made a couple of recommendations; like real-time synchronization between the Imm Visa renewal system and the Oracle database (that holds the form data field records for validity checking) of the new tm47 system to ensure accuracy of form data requirements. I have also proposed an FAQ; but that really requires input from us, the users with specific questions, to build up the database of frequently asked questions and answers. Furthermore, I have also requested individual error code allocation to each specific field of the TM47 form when a submission is rejected. A stretch goal but I did request; when a form fails submission in addition to the error code that points to the field in error they re-display the submitted form in its entirety with the users' data entry input and as an aside (flash what their database record excepts to see for the associated failed field entries. Also suggested a support email address and initially a hotline for problem resolution. I see many comments and concerns on the new system and issues incurred by users. If you want a better mousetrap, focus your energies on feedback to the tm47 support and development teams via the survey form. Will they consider addressing our suggestions, concerns and issues? don't know yet, but let's feed the beast with all our input. "Many voices speak louder than One"
  19. Why are some healthcare workers refusing COVID vaccines? The reasons behind the healthcare workers’ vaccine hesitancy were varied, with the most common reasons cited being how quickly the vaccine was developed, insufficient safety and effectiveness data, a disbelief that the vaccine would protect them from COVID-19 infection, and concerns about serious side effects. https://www.modernhealthcare.com/labor/why-are-some-healthcare-workers-refusing-covid-vaccines The reason why intelligent people in the medical field that are around and treating COVID patients all day and night are vaccine hesitant. So get off your high horse about anti-vaxxers, my body, my choice! BTW, we succumbed to the first shot of getting Moderna (you know, do the right thing); and the last COVID vaccine we will both ever take, Both myself and my wife experienced different adverse side effects; hers brain fog and mine heart palpitations, (both still persisting now after 6 weeks)
  20. No problem, let me add, IMHO they are really excellent video productions done by professionals. The new 90-day online reporting system is starting to come together, getting to the success point of the 3 R's of IT; resiliency, reliability and the last one recoverability (still holding off on the last one until they incur their first system crash and or malware infection). The above (recoverability success factor) will test the investments they made in both security and backup and recovery infrastructures. They are definitely, after years of frustration and pain on the right path to delivering finally, an excellent Imm 90-day online reporting system.
