So ... what no comment that Ukraine have had a legal goal denied as the ball had crossed the line on the video replay?
You guys were (rightfully) livid when it happened to your team during the World Cup?
To be fair......what goes around comes back around!!!
Congrats to England, and I mean that as a patriotic Scotsman. For the first time in my life I have enjoyed watching you do so well, as we're not getting battered with all the 1966 crap, and we'll win the cup expectation blah, blah.
England are my dark horse tip for the tournament, and I'll tell you what, come on Steven Gerrard!! your a superstar!!,
Steven Gerrard has been immense! Full time captaincy given 5 years too late in my opinion......but better late than never.

He was offside anyway!
Exactly!
The oppotunity should never have come because at the start of that move the player was offside!

Why does it not include Thai buyers? Why are we not talking about that here?
-
A property is only worth what someone is prepared to pay for it. So if its sitting there and noone is even looking at it, let alone buying it then surely it is not worth the asking price.
...maybe there is no one to look ?...
Surely there wouldn't be so many estate agents out there if there was no one looking for property?

Aparently, hit from behind, hit a tree and rolled into the moat!!!

As Pedr from the Old Belle mentioned to fork out 6000 for a licence fee seems a bit crazy seeing most games kick off at 1.45am (except for the first week).
Let's see how crazy it sounds when England start doing well and win a couple of games..
Christ your optimistic. England will do well to make it out of the Group Stage IMO. If we did win it, rest assured ill buy you a beer!!
As for bar options what about Mad Dog, The Wall, Chiang Mai Saloon, Zoe, Smile Bar, Dutch Delicious, Living Room, Bar Eve, Dragonfly, etc....does anyone know if any of these places intend to show the football?? As for Thai places doesn't that Kumni Chiang Mai Restuarant (near the old Rasta on the moat), stay open late for the footy, cant imagine them not showing it!?!?
Very interested to find out if any of these places are showing the games.
Johns place might be showing it???

The hardest part is finding someone reliable.
If someone accepts a job offer, be it one or more days a week, the least they could do is turn up.
Every maid / cleaner I've had I've fired as they have been unreliable and not even had the decency to bother to inform me if they are not coming to work.
I've even been told I'm wrong to expect a worker to come to work when they work for me by ex pats in the past.
I'm sure that even in Thai businesses and industry it is standard that if you have a job you're expected to come to work lol
My maid who is totally useless and can't get a thing right is the complete opposite, everyday she can't get a thing right and everyday i tell her not to come back tomorrow but she's still there every morning, any ideas on what i should do ?
Tell her in Thai Alfie.....
No No YB, the wife fully understands English

I think a big problem is that these "maids" will say they have experience and/or know how to clean etc but in reality when they turn up for work they don't have a clue.

I don't have to tell the somtam lady how to make somtam. I have a reasonable expectation that she is capable of making somtam when she presents herself as a somtam vendor. If someone claims they have experience as a maid and have worked for foreigners before, then I think it's reasonable to expect them to know basic maid skills like dusting the top of cabinets and putting soap into the mop water. You shouldn't have to train someone who claims they are experienced in the same way that you would train your children to do basic housework.
Basic skills I totally agree with you.
But certain people have specific things they like done I guess. These should be told/ taught rather than thinking the maid should somehow "intuitively to do everything the way the employer wants it" and simply sacking them without reason when they don't.

Very interesting topic. Yes, I believe is certainly a problem and yes I believe it will come down to the "losing face" aspect.
One point I would like to add though is that me and my gf have been trying to find a cleaner that comes once a week and lately she has been trying to find one for her business. This has so far been very unsuccessful. She has given extensive instructions and in some cases teaching on the maid's first visit on what she wants and how she wants it done. I believe this is the reason that we have not had someone come back more than 3 times and in most cases just once.
None have been "fired" by us. We have given many an oppotunity and my gf has told them what she wants and if they were doing something wrong. They still found a reason to leave or not come back.

Would help if the op made it clear as to which place it he is looking for. So far we have suggestions for:
The bear bar
The river market
The guitarman
and kitty corner
Non really sounding like restaurants more like gay bars and dodgy massage places.
Read the post.

"I am looking to book at table at the new restaurant next to the iron bridge on the river in town but cannot remember the name of it. It is near rasta bar and where Guitar man used to be.
Can't make it munch clearer than that
Thanks Hellodolly, couldn't have replied better myself!
No need to shout and The Guitar Man isn't next to the iron bridge now is it? Hence the confusion to all and sundry.
I said the restaurant was next to the bridge and that it was near Guitarman.
Anyway got the info I needed so thanks again to everyone that helped.

Of course excessive speed is a real problem on that road and all roads of course but I like that you pointed out that people do drive a ridicuously slow speeds too!
I think that it is very dangerous and a regular occurance that drivers are driving at 20km/h in the left lane looking for a left turn or even worse trying to get across to do a u-turn.
YoungBrit
the left lane are for slower drivers isnt it? 20km/h on the left looking for a turn seems acceptable to me
Ok, fair point. Although trying to move across lanes at a very slow speed is certainly not safe.

Does anyone know the name of it? Also if anyone has a number for it that would be much appreciated too.
Thanks in advance if anyone can save me a 20minute drive into town.

Does anyone have any feedback on this company: http://www.rentinchiangmai.com/ ???
If so and you don't feel comfortable posting in public, please send me a PM.
Thanks!
I recently used this company (Perfect Homes) when I was looking for a condo and they were extremely helpful throughout the process. Very knowledgable too! I would not hesitate to recommend them.

Rip, very sad!!!

I recently used Perfect Homes to find a condo to rent and the owner was very helpful. They had lots of different condos in that price range to show me. Might be worth checking out there page or giving them a call.

7-11 microwave sandwiches aren't too bad

I went there last night for the curry however could not finish meal as there was dog sitting under the food of table sticking its nose
to see what was available. I could not finish and enjoy the meal and left thinking about the dog near the food. Serious health concerns in this place
and wonder what its like in the kitchen ! The owner thinks it must be fine to have the dog walking around food ? I WONT BE BACK
No problem, I am sure no one will miss you....including Mary! By the looks of it your views are not shared by anyone else that frequents Archer bar. Staying away will just mean more food available at the buffet for everyone else.....sounds great!

went past archers last night, about 7.30,and they were closed.Any comments on the curry night? I think that is tonight isn't it? (Tuesday).
How much?
How good?!!!
