Rama hospital in Bangkok is at best hospital in Thailand. It's a public one. It has better facilities than Bumrungrad. But the waiting and hanging around is a bit hard. I had a major operation and cost about 1/5 of a private hospital. At government hospitals they don't load you with unnecessary medicine or carrying out unnecessary tests..

I have a lifetime Thai driving licence. I Am nearly 90 years old. I stopped driving myself the past five years due to many medical problems. However it's quite legal for me to drive apparently. And what about all the others who have lifetime driving licences they can go on driving in spite of being incapacitated

I think a lot of people would regret buying an elite Visa if they really understood how easy it is to get an ordinary Visa. If they could afford an elite Visa they would save a huge amount of money just employing an agent to arrange everything. I note that there are posts on this forum giving completely false information about the advantages of an elite Visa. For instance claiming that both married and retirement visas and 90 day reporting are problematic, When they are not. The financial requirements are the same as they were nearly 20 years ago, which taking into consideration inflation it means they are much cheaper now.

Although the Thais will never admit, its major attraction is it sheer decadence. There is nowhere like it in the world. It's a huge sex supermarket. If you know where to look you could find bars with completely naked girls and live shows and everything else. I was a majority shareholder of a major hotel there and I worked there for five years. The first thing the first thing tourists asked was where was the best place to get a girl. Tourists from Muslim countries had never seen naked girl in their lives. What else is as it got other than a haven for criminals on the run and sexpats. The seawater is a brown colour and polluted. The traffic is abominable . It's overbuilt and unattractive. There really is only one answer to attract anyone to go there and that is a casino.

PM was so obsessed with getting brexit done he ignored the virus problem

I have had this problem for a couple of years. Apparently it is congestive heart failure. Especially if you have swollen legs and ankles

The highest per capita death rate in the world from the virus. Why.? I would say the most obvious cause is mismanagement. I think the PM was far more interested in getting brexit done than caring about the virus.

So, in the USA, almost 10% of the people have already received their first of 2 jabs, and in Thailand, they're 4-5 months away from even starting?
So what, the USA has a real problem because of the huge number infected. Thailand have a tiny number of infections and has them reasonably under control so there is no reason to be in a big hurry and is carefully studying the different vaccines available

Very unhealthy diet, overeating (obsese) are some of the reasons for the UK having the highest per capita death rate in the world.
Johnson's complete lack of responsibility also plays a big role. He should have had a complete lockdown over Christmas and New Year. But he was more concerned about his popularity and his fixation wiyh brexit than people dying of the disease. Couple that with young selfish people's disregard, having raves and parties.

well done Thailand but we will see the Thai bashers as usual. Ignorant and tedious

Sure bet that many world governments have paid mightily in advance for vaccines that may be unsafe, useless or not thoroughly tested.
25 people in Norway have died after vacination.

Don't get one of the fake ones advertise frequently on Facebook or other places. If you live in Thailand you just get it from the land department on production of your Thai licence. Just remember that this international driving licences carried in every country except the one you live. There may be people who try and deceive you with their own fake licenses.

Easy to get her to give you a 30 year lease. No one can sell the house without your permission. I did that but I eventually gave the house to my wife after we were married for 25 years. She is still with me now 20 years later.

they voted to stay in in the EU so naturally they would rather be in the EU with its vast market and potential, whilst Northern Ireland will unite with the south eventually and England will become a small unimportant country

It really depends on your relationship with your bank. I have had an account with a Thai bank for over 40 years and I have no difficulty getting a short-term loan even without a guarantee. I always make a point of being friendly with the manager of my bank and pop in his office for a chat now and again.

Though many on here will argue that Thailand is hiding the real numbers, no effort seems to have been made when it came to the recent outbreak in Samut. So, I wonder how is it that our southern neighbor has had some a bad time with this. They have 470 more deaths, and over 120,000 more cases. Is it the fact that they refused to close the Mosques? The diet? Or something else?
The many on here who claimed that Thailand was hiding the real numbers were nothing else but Thai bashers. Thailand has done much better to contain the virus than any European country by far. But they hate to admit it

A lot of non-native English speaking people speak a lot better English than the average Brit here who seem to have a lot of different English dialects. I would far rather have my children taught by a non-native English-speaking teacher than many of the Brits here.

there is a very simple way around this if you are married. open an online account with your wife's account and your account. give your wife your login details, so in the event of your death, she can quickly login and transfer the 800 K into her account. you can transfer between accounts up to million baht ./The bank accounts must be in the same bank. It's not exactly legal but I cannot see any problems with it. She can always say that you transfered the money into her account on your deathbed.the bank is highly unlikely to do any investigation ,it certainly doesn't check every single transfer.

The whole world complements-Thailand for the fantastic job they have done p containing the virus. But certain pathetic Thai bashers on this forum do everything they can to belittle the great job that Thailand has done. Whilst in their own countries the virus problem has been badly handled. Shame on them.

the DUPcannot deny the fact that Northern Ireland voted to stay in the EU.so it should accept that it has done so in some respects.

Just a knee jerk reaction to the more infectious strain of the virus found in the UK. at least that's my guess. They just need some time to calm down.????
Don't you know that the EU has banned all flights from the UK. Thailand should obviously do the same

Thai PM set to get first jab - AstraZeneca - as first batch of two vaccines arrive today

Why should Thailand be in a hurry to get the vaccines. There are still very few cases. America didn't get the vaccines until after 250,000 people died. The UK didn't get them until well after they had the highest per capita rates of deaths in the world. America now has half a million deaths and an Thailand has about 89.
Your post is rather pathetic Thai bashing and woefully ignorant
