His creditors will immediately start foreclosures, they want their money out before the Federal and State Governments take it all.

This is the start of stripping away the facade of lies and fakery that is Donald Trump, it’s going to leave an awful lot of people with nowhere to hide from the fact that he’s conned them.

He has a $400 million loan coming up soon. He can be sued if he doesn't pay and I'm sure he can't

That's the Universal Health Care Scheme. I believe the 30 baht charge was dropped some years ago. If she has a Thai National ID card and a blue book with her name in it then she should have no problem.

She has to go to her local hospital.

No longer need to go to a local hospital can now get any government hospital. This is a new regulation. To stop people travelling back to their home to get medical treatment because of the virus pandemic

I am engaged to a Thai woman.  She was married and lived in Norway for 20 years before her divorce and relocation back to Thailand.  She owns a home here and has lived here for two years.  A neighbor told me about a 30 baht health plan for Thai's  I have tried to do some investigation on the internet but though there are articles about it, I can find nothing that says the program still exists, who is eligible and how a person enrolls.  Does anyone know the details of the program and can share them.  Thank you in advance.

anyone with a Thai ID can get virtually free treatment at every government hospital but be warned some are very good and some are very bad. So much so that many Thais pay a fee instead of using the free service. if you use the free service your medicine is very much limited to which is made locally by the governmentf phamacy  office.   I get free treatment ( don't ask me how) I have used it a few times but I had to wait hours with all the paying Thais treated before me. And the medicine I received was extremely limited and most of it can be bought very cheaply in any drugstore. So I prefer to pay the 200 bt and get much better service.

Also note because of the virus pandemic with a Thai ID you can get treatment at any government hospital and no longer have to go to your home hospital.

    Same probably as Taksin will.

I think it's right to let the married spouses in first...that's why they were married and you could have done the same if you wanted.

the poster seems to think his case is exceptional. He is just one in millions of people stuck around the world and can't get home. What about Australians can't even get home to their own country?Thailand has done a good job repatriating most of its citizens and even foreigners married to Thai's. The poster is not a priority. He should realise these things and consider the situation that others are  far worse than his

As a long-time complainer up until the current panic, I agree with you. It's so unreal to be going about daily life here sans mask or distancing, in the complete absence of any local disease, but better than any alternative I can think of in light of the global lunacy.

At 0.85 deaths per million population, Thailand is the sixth most “successful” country in the world at containing the flu. I think many of us doubted the truth of the stats in April, but by now it's clear there are no mountains of bodies stashed away to make the numbers look better. Difficult to believe this "government" did anything clever, but somehow we avoided it all.

The cascade of criticism about not re-opening for mass tourism ignores the fact that Thailand can't act in isolation in this case even if it wanted - and in any case Thais I mix with don't want tourists back. They like their country as it is now.

In my recent experience, IOs have been very helpful under considerable stress, much of it from farang shouting at them for no good reason (I have seen this myself).

Plus, ref the Thai health service, my wife just [successfully] had expensive heart surgery in a government hospital on the 30-baht scheme and it cost us nothing.

To my astonishment, I can't complain at all (unless you get me onto politics which is fortunately verboten on TV.....).

The UK allows Thais to enter without  quarantine. They have obviously reserched the conditions here and confirm the countries sucess with contolling the virus. So there should be no more skepticism.

Because the STV and it's choice of the countries eligible are purely political.

The scheme was created to make the people believe that the government does something to rescue the tourism industry, while their agenda is more the opposite. It's about willingly ruining the industry for making it a bargain for Chinese investers. So, of course, it's the Chinese who are allowed to come firstly.

Also note that it is well known that there is always a lot of symbolism involved in the politics of China, and the Thai government follows the wishes of it's friends.

Back in March China praised it's Thai friends for beeing the last who did not blame China on the crisis and who kept the borders still open for Chinese tourists. And today, you can be sure that China told Thailand not to open the borders for anyone until the first Chinese will come. So, because of this symbolism, China told Thailand to let nobody in before the first tourists (or investors) from China are ready to come.

Also, it's quite clear that these Chinese who come are hardly real tourists. No normal Chinese tourist could effort the time and cost of the scheme. They are long stay investors, and they will stay a very long time.

As I wrote in another post, still the list of countries eligble obviously is:

    1. China

    2. n/a

What a stupid post. Many Scandinavians are using this visa and its not just for Chinese

  8. I don't think it's quite correct to say that people won't come here because they have to do 14 days quarantine. Especially if you want to stay three months. Most tourists anyway need to 3 days to recover from from the long voyage and jet lag. Many of Thailand's leading hotels have  multiple restaurant swimming pools and even a private beach. I stayed in the leading hotel with my friends just north of krabi it had a private beach speedboats many restaurants several swimming pools a lot of activities we stayed there for two weeks without hardly ever leaving the hotel just relaxing and having a good time, quarantine hotels like this will not be a problem for visitors/  but I would agree that small hotels far away from the beach would not be conducive to quarantining in

Yeap...for those folks married outside Thailand, yes, they are going to have the one time task of getting their foreign marriage certificate translated/legalized/registered into Thailand marriage records.  But as mentioned, that's an obstacle course that only has to be run once.

Then each year before applying for your marriage extension of stay you go to any district office and ask for a KR22 marriage registration printout vs a KR2 marriage registration printout....costs around Bt25....and around 10 minutes to get.

easier just remarried my wife in Thailand.getting marriage Visa extension took only about five minutes more than my usual retirement extension and far more convenient because I don't have to keep money in the bank afterwards

I would have done it many years ago if not for the misinformation on this forumd

To apply for a one year extension of stay based upon marriage you will need to register your foreign marriage at a Amphoe to get a Kor Ror 22 that immigration requires.

Your marriage certificate has to be legalized, translated to Thai and the translation certified by the Department of Consular Affairs of the MFA in Bangkok.

The legalization of your marriage certificate is going to be the most difficult part. For US citizens the US embassy allows them to do a affidavit as a self certification of it that will be accepted by an Amphoe after it is translated and certified. I don't think they will do it in your case as a Swedish national unless you have permanent residency there.

The normal way do the legalization can be found here. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/records-and-authentications/authenticate-your-document/office-of-authentications.html

You can apply for a 60 day extension to visit your wife of the 90 day entry from your non-o visa to get more time to apply for the one year extension.

This is my list of general requirements for the extension application.  Marriage Extension Requirements 2.pdf
