I produced black-and-white photos when I went to get my marriage Visa. They refused to accept them. I told them I had not got a coloured printer. But nevertheless they stamped my passport and told me not to worry and come back in one months time. A few days later a very nice immigration officer came to our house took some coloured pictures of us

Ah, are you saying that if we don't allow Joe Biden to interfere into another countrys business we won't get a trade deal, there's a word for that.
The Irish Republic is not solely Britain's business

In what way are they finding it harder.
exactly. It is still 800,000 bt same as it was nearly 20 years ago which means probably the equivalent of BT 400,000 today so it's basically cheaper. The only people who are finding it harder to get a retirement Visa of those that don't have the financial requirements.

It really depends on who you're married to. If you are married to a lower class or middle-class girl you would be expected to pay. If the girls family are poor you should willingly pay more. Most upper-class Thais would probably pay for the wedding. But then very few farangs marry upper-class Thais. My friend married a cabinet ministers daughter and another married a general's daughter and it was them who paid for everything and of course gave a huge reception. In my case a high-ranking Prince paid for all of our marriage expenses, and big reception in a Palace.

Just seeing to all the people who have got married, how much did you pay in total for all?
And if you have a rough breakdown that would be great.
TIA

I think also the 400,000bht in a Thai bank for marriage extension must show to have come from overseas, correct me if wrong!
Never found this requirement for either a marriage Visa or a retirement Visa in the last 20 years. My money is all in Thailand either cash or in Thai shares. I've never been asked to prove that it's been imported

A dismal failure if you wish to revive tourism. A huge success if you do not.
So you would prefer for Thailand to be like the USA with tens of thousands of people dying

Australia is completely self-sufficient in food. The UK isn't, and imports a lot from the EU

Having a Non-O Visa with Retirement Extension with multiple entries, listing in a Yellow Book, and Thai ID card, I thought I was considered a Thai Permanent Resident. Not so?
No it's not. I had permanent resident . Lost it. I didn't bother to renew it because it's so easy to get, marriage or retirement Visa. 90 day reporting has never been an issue you can do it online posted or get someone to get it for you. You can even pay an agent a small fee

If it's from abroad there's nothing much you can do legally. But if you pay by PayPal you can usually get a refund if you get ripped off.

The cost is not worth it, it is money down the drain, get the retirement extensions through an agent, there is no hassle there.
why through an agent? It costs only 1900 bt and so easy to get, 30 minutes on average.

His creditors will immediately start foreclosures, they want their money out before the Federal and State Governments take it all.
This is the start of stripping away the facade of lies and fakery that is Donald Trump, it’s going to leave an awful lot of people with nowhere to hide from the fact that he’s conned them.
He has a $400 million loan coming up soon. He can be sued if he doesn't pay and I'm sure he can't

An ex-friend of mine put out a very convincing "go fund me" for an urgent operation. He raised $15,000. And then had the operation done free of charge at a government hospital. He borrowed $10,000 from me a long time ago and never made any attempt to pay it back. That's why I call him an ex-friend. I think there's a lot of people abusing it.-

Because of the virus you can go to any hospital. I am registered in Chiangmai but I got free treatment in another hospital down south just recently.

That's the Universal Health Care Scheme. I believe the 30 baht charge was dropped some years ago. If she has a Thai National ID card and a blue book with her name in it then she should have no problem.
She has to go to her local hospital.
No longer need to go to a local hospital can now get any government hospital. This is a new regulation. To stop people travelling back to their home to get medical treatment because of the virus pandemic

I am engaged to a Thai woman. She was married and lived in Norway for 20 years before her divorce and relocation back to Thailand. She owns a home here and has lived here for two years. A neighbor told me about a 30 baht health plan for Thai's I have tried to do some investigation on the internet but though there are articles about it, I can find nothing that says the program still exists, who is eligible and how a person enrolls. Does anyone know the details of the program and can share them. Thank you in advance.
anyone with a Thai ID can get virtually free treatment at every government hospital but be warned some are very good and some are very bad. So much so that many Thais pay a fee instead of using the free service. if you use the free service your medicine is very much limited to which is made locally by the governmentf phamacy office. I get free treatment ( don't ask me how) I have used it a few times but I had to wait hours with all the paying Thais treated before me. And the medicine I received was extremely limited and most of it can be bought very cheaply in any drugstore. So I prefer to pay the 200 bt and get much better service.
Also note because of the virus pandemic with a Thai ID you can get treatment at any government hospital and no longer have to go to your home hospital.

Spot on. But blame can also be placed with many governments for their lousy handling of this pandemic. China's under control, the West isn't.
Particularly in the UK!

I applied for an extension based on marriage at CW earlier this month and have to return mid-Nov for the result.
I've since been afflicted by a sciatica like condition which makes walking extremely painful
Doc prescribed some painkillers and said if not better within a week or so then surgery might be needed.
I was wondering if there would be any issues with my wife taking my passport along for the final stamp next month.
Would anything else be needed other than her ID? As a copy of her ID is in the application, that would seem to be enough.
But could also prepare doctor's letter, power of attorney etc.
Or would it be better to use an agent?
Thanks.
You should have no problem with your wife picking it up for you. I don't think you need any doctors certificate no power of attorney. Just tell your wife to say you are sick

I got my friend to go to the bank, get the forms, I signed them and he went back to the bank and got the bank letter for the marriage Visa. However the next day's I did actually go to immigration in a wheelchair with my oxygen bottle. Accompanied by my wife and her friend. Immigration were very nice and made everything very easy for me. the whole process took about 25 minutes. They did inform me that I need not have to come as long as I had a letter from my doctor.
