  1. Yep that's the answer - put himself right back in the same position with a younger bird even more likely to bin him when he drags her back to Newcastle.

Why would I suggest any person take a younger Thai woman back to the UK.

Stay in Thailand and enjoy mining the mother lode.

Yeah but the guy obviously wants to live in Blighty so, for him, it's not really good advice is it?

Besides, being in Thailand is hardly any guarantee of a smoother ride. Sure, it'd be easier to find replacements but he doesn't come across as the kind of guy who wants to be recruiting new talent every few months

    yes, but....... why ??

    Thailand........

... it's warmer - and the beer is cheaper.

After reading General & News thaivisa forums, & living here 14 years, I often wonder <deleted> most of us are living here. sad.png

  2. The sign says " candlelight procession to the temple" . Does anyone know which temple and what time please ?

Wat Pra Singh within the city walls will have most people and the most atmosphere to do your Wiang Thian. Wat Jet Yod is a lot more peaceful and pretty. In the evenings is the best as it involves circling the Pagoda 3 times with a candle and incense sticks.

I thought Wat Chedi Luang was the place to go.

  3. Oraya Sutabutr, coordinator of the Quiet Bangkok group, said candidates do not appear to recognize the issue as a problem for Bangkokians. "They don't seem to get it and do not see it as a problem. Many also think noise and big cities are part and parcel." The name sounds Thai, but I bet most of the impulse and momentum behind the group is farang. I've never (in 25 yrs) seen a Thai take a public initiative endeavor to lessen noise in this very loud country. It's always been only farang who have the gall to speak up about noise pollution.

I would imagine Oraya maybe spent some time abroad? Anyway, I know many Thais who, while maybe not taking up the flag, DO hate noise, and they'll voluntarily write about it in writing classes or talk about it as something they don't like about Bangkok. Unfortunately, they're the silent majority.

    [rimshot, crash]

They need to speak up a bit, & make themselves heard above the din.

It's not just BKK, the whole country needs muffling.... bah.gif

  4. What bar did you hear this rumor at?

Bar...?? Hehehe!! Don't have time for such sophisticated leisure.... I was on the phone with a friend of mine who is also a TV member and said to me " by the way it looks like now the money for retirees visas will have to be in the bank all year around" Someone she knows went to Immigration for their retirement visa a couple of weeks ago and apparently this is what he was told at immigration... I find it hard to believe myself but just thought I would ask because I couldn't find anything on the Immigration Forum...

Probably the official was having a bad day and you were wearing shorts and flip flops. laugh.png

  5. If you are that gullible I have a number of sure fires investments to talk to you about.

Don't listen to him he is trying to con you out of your money.

I on the other hand have some prime property in San Fransisco with a bridge spanning the bay already built on it. I can let it go cheap as I have made my millions off of it and no longer need the money or the hassle of trying not to pay tax on it.

I also have some prime property in Arizona and Florida.

Was it you who bought London Bridge? giggle.gif

  6. More Funds To Fight Haze...........kinda like beating a dead horse.

Actually the real haze is the money going into pockets that you don't see !

This problem will never be solved even if they enforce the laws because........ this is an Asian wide problem. It's not just Thailand, but Burma, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam are all burning off dried vegetation and the remnants of the last rice harvests from the rice fields ......... as they've all been doing at the same time for hundreds of years.

You forgot India which is also not far away and man they burm a shit load of stuff////

Sort out your own back yard, before you blame the neighbours thumbsup.gif

  7. I am in the UK and trying to get a paint touch-up kit from Ford but not sure if they rename paints for different markets (but same colour). I have the Gunmetal Blue and the closest on the Ford Ranger UK list is Ocean Blue but it looks different on the colour swatch... and they didn't have anything on the forecourt in Ocean Blue at the dealership I checked!

The sales guy said that it is included in the VIN. I have that and found an online decoder that identifies the truck correctly but unless the colour coding is in the last 6 digits (assembly sequence number) then I can't see any colour identification there.

Apparently, there's a plate on the door frame (or around there) that has a list of double-digits and googling indicates that the 2 digits in the second-last row on the left-side of this label is the paint identifier. Anyone with a Gunmetal Blue Ranger care to check that out and post here or PM me, it would be much appreciated. I can get you a touch-up kit for your troubles!

    Thanks,

    NL

I'll have a look tomorrow, it's getting dark now.

Paint code for gunmetal blue is 38L

According to here it's a Mazda colour.

This website lists the Ford colour codes. Ocean is 6DV.

Let us know how you get on.

Good stuff! I have noted that it is a colour shared and exactly same as some new BT-50's I have seen. Now I will visit a Mazda dealer or, failing that, just check out the paint racks at Halfords.

Do you have a link to a website that will interpret your VIN? The one's I tried said it was invalid.
