  1. Had noisy neighbours in a condo once, what you need is a ghost.

I glued up their door locks when they were IN, this means when they go out they cant lock their door, then every so often Id open their door and leave it open when they were away, Then get the girlfriend to say she heard crying in the room all night and let the maid see the open door. Wife suggests ghost to maid, maid tells whole building, tenant leaves.

Someone else suggested if you have a small child get it to say why is the girl crying in the upstairs window every night or similar crap

Thank you for making my New Year smile.png

  2. I agree, alcohol almost always leads to fun.

I can have fun without alcohol, but I would never have met the girl I was having fun with, if alcohol hadn't been originally present.

    And I probably wouldn't have 2 wonderful sons ;-)

  3. There is no station in San Sai. Again, the stations are not for measuring local events, such as burning next door.

If I start a BBQ and stand right next to it then I would get high readings for that specific location too, but I would not see that reflected in the measuring station reports from Mae Rim.

We're not talking about "local events". Reports are from all around the CM valley. Air quality is really bad. Ignore the govt figures. I drive around a large sector between Saraphi & Mae on. It's sh1t.

  4. Everything in the rice fields that isn't baled (they do have baling machines here, but many farmers are just too eager with the lighter) should be ploughed into the soil. They do have tractors now, it's not peasants working with buffalo anymore. People should re-learn the old ways of composting their garden waste. Not exactly rocket science "Einstein-not".

  5. An then there's my all time favorite: "the dunkelager from the Chiangmai German Microbrewery is a bit like Spitfire". And that one came from a pub owner. Similar statements have been made on TV about Cheers Extra and Beer Lao dark by others.

Cheers Extra, too strong. Will have to check out the microbrewery, have not been for 10 years :(

  6. There is Carlsberg, draft and bottles at the Lannabrewfest. It is being distributed in CM.

    Have they got any Pedigree?

Idon't remember seeing that but the website made me thirsty, brewed in in oak casks !

Itt's a sad reflection of beers in Thailand if folk are getting excited about Carlsberg :(

Not knocking Carlsberg, I'll probably be drinking it once it's available.

btw, anyone know where I can get Federbrau by the case? Only shop I've seen it in is Tesco, but only by the bottle.

  7. I used Hakka Paleta or something like that ,from Sweden in the Forests and Snow. They bordered on cheating compared to other brands grip. The carbide tips never fell out like Dunlops coffee1.gif.40 years ago sad.gif.

Whoa, easy there fella.... I think you are taking about Niokian Hakkapellitas tires which are made in Finland. If it ever snows here, I am recommending them for MESmith's mower....

I had considered importing snow tyres, just in case, but the lack of a cab or heated seat made me decide against it. Also, in deep snow, I wouldn't be able to locate the lawn.....

  8. There is burning going on in different places - it looks like they are trying to get it done before the clamp down - to which no one takes any notice anyway

Heaps of burning in rice fields east of the city. Plus lots of dusty roads & building sites. A lot of landfill going on on hwy 1317 south of San Kamphaeng - raising existing pads after the floods there earlier this year.

  9. Had Deestones fitted on my lawnmower. No complaints, but then the mileage is low, as are the speeds ;)

Should be fine with our D Maxes then. About the same Engine Power.biggrin.gif

Hey, don't knock my mower :D

Our D Maxes Knock Knock all by themselves.biggrin.gif

I'm sure there's a "knock, knock who's there?" joke in there somewhere, but I can't think of one..... :(

  10. Just arrived from my home country. No toothpaste in my room!!!!! Keep shouting for Mummy, but no reply. Need toothpaste, desperately, but don't want to venture outside & look around, too many foreigners. Tried Amazon, but they wont deliver. Any suggestions? Maybe if I order a pizza (online), they'll bring some?

  11. The hilltribes suffer in the colder months, that's a fact. But they need to be weaned from depending on annual gifts of poor quality blankets. Emergency donations should be for unexpected emergencies. Cold nights in the cold season are predictable & should be prepared for. Perhaps, a better solution is to encourage them to make their own quilts. They are quite proficient at weaving, so maybe they can be provided with polyester stuffing with which to make quilts. "Give a man a fish, he'll eat for one day. Teach him how to fish, he'll eat for a lifetime......" If you've made your own quilt, you're more likely to take of it for the future. Maybe quilts can be produced by the more productive, developed villages to be sold to the govt to be given as aid to the poorer, less able villagers?
