1. ‘Gold Series’ is to mark the anniversary of there years in Thailand.. Nothing more..

The ALL NEW Isuzu will be out in March 2008

Ignis knows a lot about a PII, PIII and PIV and drives his girfriend's Tiger pretending he knows a lot about a Quad Core and a Fortuner.

So basically what we're saying is he's full of <deleted>!

  2. Does the Turbo aspect increase insurance and gas usage?

Today I drove a 380 km journey. A journey not different from with my old LS (03-2003) as I went to my other house. Drove 80-125 km/h, little bit 4H and 4L for a few kilometres (when in our area). I did a 13km/L. With my old LS it was about a 9-10km/L. What really impressed me was taking over another car driving 85 km/h. This VGS engine goes as a rocket compared with my old car.

I bought my first LS in March 2003. I had to pay 778,000 THB + about 15,000 THB for an alarm system, fog lights, aluminum stairs and window screens. My new LS brought me so, so much more for 833,00 THB all included.

As the VGS is available for a divers types of D-Max-es, take a test drive. You will see.

    Hi Petch01

Just down the road in HH from you (Well will be in 3 weeks).

Did you have to wait long after ordering?

Did you manage to squeeze any extras out of the dealer?

Do you know if Isuzu are offering any good finance deals at the moment?

    Thanks for your help

  3. I saw this "gold series" in isuzu before 1 week.

there is NOTHING speciel with this model but the signs outside is gold instead of silver as all cars have.

on the wheel -also same trick- gold instead of silver.

the dashboard is with little bit gold texture..hehe :o

if you pay money for it / this is the reason you hurry to buy this "gold series" you are nothing but a fool.

its simply just a marketing techinc to increase sales.

    :D

I'm a fool, thank you, but a happy one. Today I got my Cab4 LS Gold Series. It's a beauty compared with my Cab4 LS 03-2003 (the first series). But, "thai4u", this car compared with the D-Max Cab4 LS of a couple of weeks ago has:

    - 3.0 turbo VGS (standard)

    - leather seats

    - an electronic antenna

    - a new front bumper

    - electric foldable side mirrors

    - a tripmaster; trip, fuel usage and outside temperature measurement

    - a key including the opening or closing of the central locking

    - side mirror leds

    - central rear brake light consists of leds

and yes, "thai4u", and the gold-coloured things you mentioned. So I assume, you got your info from your wife who doesn't want you to buy the new Gold Series.

Any idea of the mpg you may get out of the Cab4 LS Gold Series 3.0 turbo VGS ?

Does the Turbo aspect increase insurance and gas usage?

  4. I work with a British guy in his early 60's who swapped an automatic gearbox for a manual one in his used Ford Focus. Good on him! :o He also had the car decked out to look like a race car. He has the heart of a younger man and good reflexes to go with it.

    WOW! That's so interesting.

Sounds like your still in your teens.

  5. I have mapsource World map 4.06 if you want it? Is a 141mb. let me know how you want it? If you do that is?

Thanks so much for the offer but I think that I managed to get it going by downloading the training kit for windows off the garmin website then loading mapsource form the site and the new version seems to work. If I have any problems will definetely take up your offer. Again many thanks.

  6. Thanks for that, but I was looking for the actual size of the complete Thailand map. As I mentioned the Rotweiler map is more than 125 MB so if the total Thailand map for the Nokia is a lot smaller that would tell me there must be less detail.

    Hi Gary

About to purchase the Rotweiler maps but am not quite sure waht I will have to do: Run the maps from the sd card or device.

Got a 610 and the device is reporting G:\ at 415MB total space, 281MB used and 134MB Free. The device currently has UK/Eire maps. Do I have to copy the maps off the device onto the SD card to get the Thai maps on the device? Are the maps prefixed *.img as there is a big 180MB one sitting on the device.

Already removed images and mp3's from the device that ain't needed

    Cheers

I don't know for sure about the 610 but both of my Garmins store the maps entirely on the memory cards. If the 610 is like that, I would buy a new memory card and put all of the Thailand map on the new card. Having two memory cards is a simple way to keep everything separated and if you go back to the UK, you can just swap cards. You should have a program from Garmin called Map Source. You will need that program to be able to read the Rotweiler map and then to transfer it to your 610. I think some of the newer GPS devices have a lot more memory built in and if that is the case, it is still easy to swap maps back and forth between your PC and your GPS. (The map from ESRI cannot be read or manipulated from your PC). Be careful if you try to put both maps on the same card because some devices erase (format) the memory before installing any new maps. You probably have the UK maps on disk so maybe that is not a problem. If you don't have the CD/DVD with the UK map on it be sure to use Map Source to transfer the map from the GPS to your PC before installing the new map. Rotweiler is also very good about helping you if you have any problems.

Your way points and personal points of interest ARE stored in the GPS built in memory so you won't lose them when you change the memory card. You will probably want to delete UK information and that must be done manually. Your PC can save those for you if you delete them and make it easy to get them back if needed. Good luck and let me know if you need any help. The maps are locked so you will need to furnish your GPS ID number to Rotweiler and he will give you a pass code.

The UK/Ireland maps are actually stored on the unit so don't have them on my pc or disk. Also mapsource did not come with the product, (trying to get a copy from garmin but they are not so helpful at the moment). Got mapsource working in some form using Rotweilers work around of installing the training software but cannot see the same detail as the unit supplies. Can see all the files on G:\ drive so I imagine backing up the whole of the drive to my pc means I have a copy of everything.

Anyway gonna get the Rotweiler stuff and see how I go with this training version of mapsource. My worry is that this version of mapsource does not seem to bring the full UK maps to my pc.

    Thanks Again

  8. What a load of hassle just to buy a truck for a decent price.

I was all set on buying the New Vigo when it came out, but with all this talk about 6 month waiting lists and varying prices I might just hire the old (current) model for a few months, or stick to driving what I have now for another year - I know it's supply and demand, but I always thought that "it's easy to buy and difficult to sell". Not when buying a truck here it seems - can't be bothered with the hassle really...

what you on about, waiting lists for what?

  9. It's my understanding that Toyota is offering an Exclusive version of the Pre Runner in white color, however it doesn't have 4-wheel drive nor does it have an automatic transmission. I believe there is also a 2-door extended cab white colored version offered, however the 4-door, 4-wheel drive with auto transmission is no longer manufactured. There may still be some leftover models available for sale, but I seriously doubt it unless the dealer has jacked up the price so high that nobody will buy it.

This is also my understanding. However have heard that another batch of exclusives may be on the way.

From the dealer in Phuket today,

Want white can have but not till january. 900 were made in white and all have been sold (official records at least)

    New run then.

New model yes December , price , couldnt tell me

old model no discount (official anyway) availiable yet , sure not much longer though b4 they have to clear the old model , so hang fire for a month or two is what he said.

used the same dealer for the last purchase and got a great deal , so gave the guy 5,000 as a cheers.

looks like thats about to pay dividends !

    Unless he's pulling your plonker!

Main reason I bought this one in the uk was for the bluetooth for the phone mainly when in the UK, Rotweiller recommend Garmin and maps for the UK. Cost me 12,000 Baht £175.00 exc vat as I will get the vat back. I will have UK/Eire Maps here and Thai maps when there.
